Didn't he do that with Death Vigil at one point?

One issue was delayed going to print so he posted it for free.(same for switch Btw) Months after the trade was out he posted pdfs of the issues and the same for Sunstone. He makes sales by this stuff being shared. That's how Sunstone grew. Word of mouth and it being free on DeviantArt.

He said a large part of his following came from people posting his strips on porn sites and linking back to him lol

He doesn't seem to care how people read his stuff just that they read it.

Messi is the Stjepan Sejic historian. When are you getting started on his biography?

I talk to him on and off. He's a nice dude honestly.

Edit : lol as I am posting this an hour ago he posted all the pdfs to death vigil on twitter again lol

then after you read it, consider if you liked it enough to support the book by buying it's trade. i intend to make a second arc, but i have the whole living expenses, rent/food thing to think about XD

and no, crowdfunding is not an option. i make comics, not campaigns XD

i'm an old fashioned guy. i make a thing, and if people like the thing they can buy it XD
old man sejic chasing patreons off his porch

He can't use patreon ect due to tax laws in his country also he seems to really dislike the idea.

Deadly Class volume 4 ending.

HOLY SHIT MARIA AND MARCUS ARE ALIVE! I honestly did not see that coming at all.

Best chapter ever.

Oh fuck, now I have to wait for volume 6 to release.

Or you could just buy the singles and not die of anticipation.

Read the first arc of Moonshine... I don't think I want to read more. It's interesting, but it feels like a series that will lead the reader by the nose and ultimately be a huge disappointment.

After watching Guadians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, I feel really bad that I didnt bought the following Comic-Marvel Omnibusses after Annihilation: Conquest. But I cant see me drop 130 bucks on three Omnis where I always have quiet a few Issues collected via the Modern Guardians Omni.
I hope they collect the Nova Stuff seperatly, I would be ok buying stuff there again because its the book I am most interested in.

Started reading The Omega Men by King and Bagenda. Within the first couple pages...good god, these spreads. What are boys doing to me? Lawd have mercy. Also since it takes place in the Vega system, does Larfleeze show up?

You're in for a treat.

It's a brutal treat but a good one nonetheless. That book is one of my favorite things DC published in the past few years.

Sometimes I wonder when Donnie sleeps at all.
He seems to be always online.

Maybe he like Batman, who can meditate for 15 minutes while driving and get 9 hours sleep out of it

Haha no rest for the wicked I guess! Did you know there is a dolphin that has evolved to alternate a sleep pattern constantly between the left and right hemispheres of it's brain, so that it never has to stay stationary? I was told that during a psychology lecture at uni once haha. I'm not quite that far gone yet though, I had a good solid six hour sleep there, that about does me.

I finally watched Hellboy II after getting it months ago. Now I am even sadder that Hellboy III won't happen.

It also reminded me that I need to get some Hellboy comics to read at some point.

Ah dude, you have no idea. The movies are what they are, they barely even scratch the surface of the comics and what makes them so good. If you liked them, there's a whole new world waiting for you in those comics. There's still very little like it bar Mignola's own spinoffs or other projects. Not sure if you're digital but I believe the first few HB trades are in the comixology unlimited thing.

Gotta love Kot. Even coming back in a more *positive* place, he always seems like he's on the edge of complete turbulent meltdown. I just hope his new books stay on track and don't spiral out into oblivion, the guy has a really engaging writing style and obviously some stuff to say. He works with some very talented artists too.

I read a few issues of Zero after reading an interview with Kot and browsing his twitter. What is the series everyone loves of his?

Mmm, Zero & Secret Avengers were very accomplished. Material is pretty incredible too, and only one volume. The only other thing I read outside of those three books is Wolf but I gave up after volume 1.

Damn. You guys got me interested in Super Girl until I saw the price. Jaysus.

Just read the first two issues of Flintstones. Really clever, funny stuff.

Why did you give up?

Why did you give up?

Part of it was he had already went into his spiral at this point. He pulled the plug early on Material, which ended up totally fine for the nature of book it was, but with Wolf first the artist changed and then he pulled the plug on it too. I hate when a good Google search can't even turn up if a book is cancelled or what, but by all accounts Wolf just dried up and vanished along with Kot for the last 18 months after arc 2 so I just left it there. Not sure if it got a proper resolution or not honestly!

I guess part was it just wasn't as good as the other stuff I've read by him, but I would normally give a writer like Kot and his style more rope to make it all work. All of that combined though and it was like okay, I don't want to keep getting burned investing in books that he jumps ship on, but as it turns out he stopped putting out stuff all together after that. Hopefully it's a good new start for him though because that other stuff is very intelligent and thoughtful, and there's some other stuff I haven't read out there by him that's supposed to be quite good too.

That would make me drop a book, too.

So, it's Golden Week, which means I'm on vacation and finally getting the chance to catch up with lots of comics in between the beach-centric vacation activities. What should I catch up with next?

Options:
All Star Batman
Batman Rebirth
Black Hammer
Sabrina
Descender
Detective Comics Rebirth
East of West
Gotham Academy
Harrow County
Injection
Manifest Destiny
Mirror
Monstress
Nailbiter
Saga
Sunstone
WicDiv

Or, I can start these:
Green Lantern (Geoff Johns)
Thor (Simonson)
Marvel Cosmic universe stuff
Kingdom Come
Magneto Testament
Hadrian's Wall
Northlanders

Guide me, ComicsGAF

Descender is a good time, and Saga of course, missed that lol. Would love to hear more thoughts on Mirror from others though, definitely write a bit up on that once you get through it, if you have thoughts.

I know we're in a nebulous place with him these days, but I did really like Northlanders back in the day. I'm a bit of a Viking nut, so it pushed a lot of buttons.

I'm only a few issues behind on Saga and WicDiv, so those'll be easy. Just picked up Black Hammer yesterday, though. I'm excited to read that. Mirror, I started before, but I think I should reread the first two issues before I continue.

Had a little gift card laying around and picked up these two.
Also, What is All star Batman? Two Batman comics? :S

Also is it recommended to read Vol 1's of other heroes before you read vol2? For example, Read Detective comics vol 1 before Batman vol 2? Like if they're connected or some such. Otherwise I'll get vol 2 batman first and then Detective comics Vol 1 after.

I wouldn't worry about this stuff too deeply. You can read any rebirth volume 1 alongside each other. There are odd cases where you might want to read one volume of one title before another but it's not a big deal in general. All Star is Snyder's book, pretty much his just telling whatever story he feels like with whatever artists. One quirk that jumps to mind is there's a cross over volume called Night Of The Monster Men that fits after volume 1 of Batman, Detective & Nightwing, and before the volume 2 of those books, but it's really up to you if you want to bother with that or if it bothers you to read it slightly out of sync etc.

Ah nice. Thanks! Not sure if I want to pick up nightwing yet. I had detective comics and Green lantern / Hal jordan (But I'm getting those after I'm done with the omnibuses) on the list at least.

Yea no bother man. Just check in here if you're ever unsure, I'm not even nearly the most well versed on Rebirth in here hah

The Hal book isn't great. Green Lanterns is better imo.

Nightwing is very solid.

I'm not so sure. I thought he was getting a solo?

In the winter I thought. Same as Conner and Palmiotti Jetsons. The backups were test runs.
