The Fast and The Forgotten

"2 Crews 1 Race"

Thank me later vin

On the how did this get made podcast, the host said they shot a post-credits scene with Rock and Statham but Vin had it removed. Is that true?

Pleasantly surprised with the Luke Evans cameo in this.

They need to spin off Hobbs and the Shaw bros into their own movie.

Finally saw this yesterday, Statham & The Rock were perfection.
Despite no Brian, I think I liked it more than 6&7.

Statham on the plane was probably my favorite thing in the series since Fast Five.

They have to figure out something with Han though.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

It's been reported enough times on a bunch of different websites, there must be some amount of truth it in. Vin being a producer on this film probably didn't like focus being taken away from him.

I hope that Rock/Statham spin off happens, they were the best part about the movie.

That's so petty :(

Vin seems like an asshole IRL

He wasn't alone.

Just listened to that as well. Surprised to hear that Kurt Russel might have been lined up to become Brian's Dad. Guess that idea was used in another franchise. Maybe it was always meant for both though....

That would be the jumping in point for the cosmic crossover.

I can understand Vin being upset though. It's his franchise and that scene was them going behind his back.

So Wazz, I have been thinking about potential future storyline possibilities. I think they should weave the wonky writing in 8 into 9 and beyond. What if Cypher located a burned and bruised Han, recovering in a Japanese hospital somewhere in Tokyo. In a flashback, Han was able to escape the burning car before it exploded but is scarred severely. Gisele, tragically, is still dead.

It is here that Han is told by Cypher, not just with words but video about the flimsy nature of Dom's sense of "family". "They left you to die in Tokyo. They didn't memorialize Gisele, the love of your life and top things off, Dom put avenge your death behind his own selfish needs and enlisted the guy that tried to kill you to save his son. He could have chosen anyone but he chose him--Deckard Shaw." All of this rings true as Cypher has curated videos that prove all of this to Han. He is having noticeable trouble absorbing all of this but his anger and hurt are driving his rage.

"Dom never truly saw you or Gisele as family...I mean, look at his actions." Now, with Cypher's funding and re-enlisting his underground Yakuza connections (including old DK), Han adds Sean and Bow Wow and explains his mission of vengeance to them. They join him on this new quest to bring the family to their knees. Essentially, turn Han into the Winter Soldier with his own crew (along with Cypher) taking on Dom's. We get our own FF Civil War, and Han gets to return as a bad ass.

Thoughts?

I don't see any point in doing that because Han isn't particularly good at anything and he wouldn't be a formidable opponent. Sure it'll be a mental blow to the crew at first but...Han isn't good at anything.

I honestly thought we were going to get to the end of the movie and then find out that Cipher had been lying about that being Dom's kid.

Watched this last night and loved it! The scenes with the auto controlled cars in the city and the plane/baby scene with Deckard are 2 of the best things this series has ever done. So good. Also, Charlize Theron made for an awesome villain. Only negative was Scott Eastwood...never saw the point in the addition of his character unless they decide to write out Kurt Russell which would be tragic

Scott Eastwood struck me as a WIP Brian replacement. Similar background, initially opposed to methods outside of official procedure, but by the end carefree and unhinged + signature smile.

Honestly, I liked him well enough. A Brianesque character to lighten things feels sorely needed after F8.

Finally saw this. Entertained. But felt like a side step rather than a step forward. Maybe it should without Paul.
Felt it jumped all over the place. Action too long. More spectacle than excitement.
Pacing not so sharp as the last three. Either there was less downtime planning for each heist section or it just felt that way because of the not so good team banter.
Don't know about it overall. Good, obviously.

5>6>1>3>7>8>4>2 maybe.
