Sega PC ports campaign continues with petition (Vanquish, Bayonetta, VF5)

Oh man, Panzer Dragoon series to PC would be amazing. It's on my dream list now.

Wonder how much Saga getting PC port would crash the collectors market? Probably not much considering the value is usually having it physically.
Panzer Dragoon Saga PC port is pretty unlikely, since they lost the source code.

Virtua Fighter 5 next. You know it makes sense.

You say "people", as in plural. Citation needed.

Yeah I want Unleashed as well. The mod is still not graphically 1:1 BTW

Also Heroes HD and Shadow the Hedgehog in a two pack.

Speaking of Sonic, PC releases of Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Colors probably aren't out of the question either. Same goes for Shadow the Hedgehog.

Only saw two mentions of Shadow the Hedgehog in the entire thread.

If we're getting Vanquish too, what's next?

Is this SEGA picking the low hanging fruit for PC ports first? If so, probably something like Resonance of Fate next.

Or is this SEGA doing Platinum Games stuff at the moment? If so, would Madworld might be next.

If we eventually get Panzer Dragoon Orta, Jet Set Radio Future, and Dragon Force out on modern platforms, I'll forgive SEGA for everything.

I'm already forgiving Sega already for their complete silence after Valkyria Chronicles was released on PC. Are we besties now, Sega?

Yea, I'm just horrified there actually was more than one mention.
I'm surprised too. But shouldn't be surprising considering there have been suggestions of porting Sonic 06 to PC too.

Also super agreed to those saying Sonic Unleashed. It could really use the performance/loading boost (especially if you're coming from PS3) and it's still a beautiful game. And as much of a beast it is to plat, I'd probably find a way to do it again since it's a much more enjoyable experience when you're very familiar with it. Learning how often you can make night stages shorter than day stages is a good time.

Sega shouldn't waste resources on porting Azure Revolution. It's already enough wasted money localizing it.

It's literal kusoge that was shat out with a decimated budget for a quick buck after Sega decided the game was a lost cause following the pre-pre-Alpha's negative impressions. I wouldn't be surprised if the localization costed more than the game's development somehow by how badly the game reeks of budget cuts.

Though of course, a lot of the blame there goes to Sega for forcing MediaVision to make a demo to push copies of Valkyria Remastered despite Azure Revolution not being remotely ready for primetime exposure.

I'd love to see what Azure Revolution would have been in a world where it didn't get its budget slashed and rammed out the door by Sega Japan execs.

Oh I agree (and really would like to see a fully-realized Valkyria spinoff), I was just using it as a current release that could act as a breather between ports/other new releases. They seem to be treating it about the same as other recent releases in terms of a retail product so I thought to add it to the list for the sake of rounding up Sega's current output.

But again, that didn't stop Bayo + PPT happening last month, so it's really up in the air.

You don't need the source code to release it for PC. Emulation is an option but more importantly, even with the source code it would be difficult to port and need to be largely re-written at this point due to its age which is the actual reason it's not happening.

I still fear this is more due to Platinum's initiative rather then Sega's and now we'll be back to waiting years between scraps of Sega in house developed games. I'll feel happier when something not made by Platinum is confirmed.

These were all worked on by Sega Europe, who handled the marketing and gets the final say on these projects.

I would literally jump for joy if this were to happen.

Is there a better version of Virtua Fighter 5 that was never released like an arcade version? I thought I remember hearing something like that.

Nah, Final Showdown (that finally made it onto 360 and PS3 in 2012) is the latest version.

Now Virtua Fighter 4 Final Tuned however...

lol it's not that bad. I've played the arcade version a lot. the announcer for example just sounds like that.

I've never played the arcade version. I was just surprised by it coming off VF5 Vanilla. It's the impact sounds that bug me really. Hoping for a Steam release almost entirely for that purpose lol.

we need virtua figher 5 final showdown with the original quest mode. I hope they do it before tekken 7 is released. how is the VF5 console netcode?

Yakuza 3 and on pleeeeeeeeease.

I can't imagine it ever happening though and even if they did it would just be the latest one probably.

Eager to try Bayonetta and Vanquish once I get around finishing MGR lol.

Also hoping for Skies of Arcadia, Persona, and Shenmue ports.

Can Sonic 06 be bug tested and optimized?

It'll probably get 60 fps clean and faster loading times but that's it.

But I highly doubt Sega would expect people let alone Sonic fans to pay money for this port as infamous as it is.

There's some audio compression but otherwise they're fine.

I believe some of the visual effects got a light downgrade too, right?

Also, why stop at VF5? I want the whole suite of AM2 fighting classics! Sega should do the work to make the PC versions of VF1&2 work on modern PCs. Bring the latest arcade versions of VF3,4,5 to PC. Also, bring Fighting Vipers 1&2, Fighters Megamix to PC.
