Makes a bit of sense since I get a whole Brazilian vibe from the OST.
I'm actually liking the fact Nintendo is being far more open and different with their OST from their usual games.

The Main Theme is pretty ace! Definitely does its job of getting me hyped for the game. That being said, I can't listen to music like this for Nintendo games without imagining Miyamoto as part of the band.
For ARMS he's the one doing those slick guitar riffs. For Mario Kart 8 he's playing the saxophone.

No kidding. Can't believe people are comparing it to a generic anime theme song when it has no japanese lady singing japanese nor any engrish. I know you guys LOVE your hyperbole, but can't you find something of actual substance to say about the song rather than throwing out empty claims?
At first I didn't like that it was almost nothing about "OOOOO OOOO OOOO OOO" but I realize that the song gives of a strong feeling of rising excitement, with the courus rising in pitch and volume until the lady singer kicks in and it feels great. The lack of words means that EVERYONE gets it, regardless of language, without the need to fumble about with translations as what the song is about is self evident.
I really like it now.

It's really great. The Mario Kart music team (assuming these are the same composers as MK8) needs to put out some damn soundtracks, they've been absolutely incredible as of late.
If Nintendo ever does drop out of the console business they should just become a record label.
