In a week full of Trump scandals, Fox News is teaching a masterclass in how to play defense for the president.

Fox News has spent the week doing damage control for the Trump White House. Between Trump’s intelligence leak to the Russian ambassador and an alarming memo from former FBI director James Comey, Fox has been working overtime to downplay and distract from Trump’s mistakes. And the more Fox convinces Republican voters to shrug off major Trump scandals, the less likely it becomes that Congressional Republicans will feel the need to keep the president’s actions in check.

To be fair tornadoes are pretty important to a good chunk of states of fox's general audience

Though yes, they are dodging fucking hilariously hardcore to the point it's disgusting.

I started watching FOX News for a couple of days....just to see how they've been covering this. And this video nails it.

And I still don't know WTF "deep state" means. xD

This is how when I talked to my parents who watch the news all the time, I found out they didn't even know Trump was in any kind of trouble.

He definitely expressed a concern that a lot of us have already discussed. If the GOP voters don't these crimes serious, their representative won't do anything to take Trump accountable. If that doesn't happen, we will have to wait until the Democrats take over the congress or senate. The chances of that happening is unfortunately unlikely. It's that serious, and it will undermine what the founding fathers set out to do. I think Americans should take this very seriously.

I dont mean just ONE story about ONE employee.

I'm talking something more comprehensive. I'm sure that the stories on Ailes and O'Reilly DID have an effect. But just like with Trump you need to defeat fox by death of a thousand cuts. Find really bad dirt (akin to the Ailes and O'Reilly stuff) on:

- Hannity
- Tucker Carlson
- Fox and Friends hosts
- Fox Five hosts
- Lou Dobbs
- Fox Executives

Basically, keep drowning Fox in scandal after scandal until no one wants to advertise on their channel.

But they don't care about the actual scandals. See how long Bill O'Reilly survived until companies pulled their ads. I'd say there's enough on the plate and at stake that it's already time to convince companies to pull ads from the entire network instead of hoping that any additional scandals would suddenly do the trick.

That's why I ended the post with suggesting that relentless scandals be used to make advertisers want to pull not just from one show, BUT THE ENTIRE NETWORK.

Like, it doesn't work if you take out Fox one person at a time slowly because then they'll just find someone to replace each person that goes down.

But if you take down the entire network (or as much of it as possible) all at once? Then they can't just replace those that go down and advertisers will be more likely to just pull advertising from the entire network.

That's what I was suggesting though. Plus I don't think it's feasible to find scandals on everyone at once. It'll be drip drip drip for a long time at best.

Well the idea is that they spend 12+ months just digging up dirt on everyone high up at fox, then when you have enough to put them on blast for a good 4 months you open the floodgates and combine it with a steady campaign to get advertisers to pull all their ads from the entire network.

The entire GOP agenda sold their souls for a paycheck. It's sickening how citizens not only ignore it but support it. They literally spit on the hands trying to actually help them.

In fairness, MSNBC has been cleaning Fox's clock in primetime ratings especially Rachel Maddow. Chris Hayes is beating Tucker Carlson and Lawrence O'Donnell is beating Hannity.

The last time the US President was impeached, you at least had some basic adultery going on. This time, it's some orange twat selling out his country. That just not sexy enough for Fox.

I can't even watch Fox News for lulz anymore with how they've been handling the Trump scandals. Half the time they don't even talk about what's going on since not even they can defend all of it, opting to just spin everything on the liberal media and attack the leakers instead.

Then CNN and MSNBC are hot fire every night. Best stuff on TV right now.

My Gym has fox turned on when i go, every time i watched they were trying to play the "Liberal media being hysterical" angle.

I never saw them actually try and defend what Trump was doing.

It's a vile rebranding of the civil service that wannabe dictators, like Erdogan, and their surrogates use to undermine bureaucratic checks on executive power.
