CNN:Russians believed they would be able to use Michael Flynn to influence Trump

Does that mean Trump was unwitting?

As far as Flynn goes, possibly. But if it can be proven that Trump knew members of his cabinet were compromised but didn't do anything about it - it could absolutely be used against him in the courts (if/when it ever comes to that), since it would be disgustingly negligent of him as President.

But even then, if it comes out that a number of his closest confidants were colluding with Russia and he had absolutely no idea it was happening, it makes him look like the biggest idiot on the planet. Neither scenario paints him in a good light. Especially since he often brags about how smart he is.

This sucks. We already know Flynn is gonna get the book. This just means Trump was unaware and "safe"

I want to see Trump in cuffs.

Obama himself and (more explicitly) Yates told them.
They ignored and then pretended they didn't know plus other lies I can't recall there are too many.
Now they are obstructing investigation into the above and more.

They really need to hold these stories for another week. At this point I can see Trump and co. rerouting Air Force One to Moscow and calling it.

He also told Comey to drop it, which is pretty fuckin' damning.

Man I'm done with the popcorn.gifs, this shit is horrifying. The White House has most certainly been comprised. There is no telling how much classified information is now in Russia's hands. Our entire way of life could already be in extremely grave danger.

Jesus, they actually could use this, though, to say everything Was Flynn.

People keep saying this about Flynn, but we already know there's more to all of this just from the surface material we're privy stuff. The whole thing is not just Flynn. People need to understand that.

Sally Yates and Obama warned him that he could be compromised. I don't think he can get off on the unwitting pawn schtick after being warned and not doing anything until it was leaked to the press.

We have already multiple reports of how the transition team got info that Flynn was compromised well before his job as NSA. Feigning ignorance doesn't work for them anymore.

Obama, Yates, Cummings, Flynn himself ALL told this WH that Flynn was under investigation/compromised.

Doesn't this mean Trump didn't really know whats going on?
Honestly I think Trump is so dumb and easily swayed that people like Flynn and Kushner could have influenced him into direct collusion with Russia without Trump realizing that he was colluding. He sure doesn't seem to realize that he's admitted to obstruction of justice.

So yes, it's possible, without even considering that they could have been working with Russia without his direct knowledge.

Consequences, serious consequences are for most commoners. People in position of power seldom face the music with similar magnitude. Watch this be washed away from Trump, his family and ilk.

So Flynn is officially done, which we already knew. We need more on Trump now.

Hopefully this adds pressure on Flynn to bargain and spill the beans.

Just to put this in perspective, Russia is bragging about planting an asset of theirs as the fucking National Security Adviser.

Didn't Yates and Obama both warn Trump about Flynn?

So the excuse about Trump being unaware really doesn't make sense as he was warned multiple times about Flynn

"Could?" Our way of life has been under siege for awhile, man.

The fact that Trump didn't care and hired him anyway proved to me anyway, they all knew the dealings the entire time. Not hitting him would have raised eyebrows.

I don't think any American has potentially been in as much legal trouble as Michael Flynn in my lifetime. Anyone know whether he's still subject to UCMJ or if other Federal charges would override that?
We used to hang people for the shit some of these guys did.

And yet, Trump STILL INVITED Kisylak, and leaked information of HIS OWN VOILITION. He's not getting away clean.

Yeah I don't think Trump was a witting pawn to the Russian conspiracy. It won't be any Russian collusion that brings down Trump, it'll probably be obstruction of justice that does him in.

One major concern for Obama administration officials was the subject of conversations between Flynn and Kislyak that took place shortly after President Barack Obama slapped new sanctions on Russia for meddling in the election. Sources tell CNN that Flynn told Kislyak that the Trump administration would look favorably on a decision by Russia to hold off on retaliating with its own sanctions. The next day, Putin said he wouldn't retaliate.

And the next day Trump tweeted this.
"Great move on delay (by V. Putin) - I always knew he was very smart!"

He totally knew what was going on.

If we were talking about some random low level staff member, I'd buy Trump not knowing and unknowingly colluding.

We're talking about former NSA Michel fucking Flynn. A NSA Trump himself selected.

You know, the guy Trump wants back into the white house after knowing for months that's he's dirty.

Yeah I'm not buying it. Especially not given the context of everything else. He will deny he knew of course.

Doesn't this mean Trump didn't really know whats going on?

it has been reported multiple times that trump is STILL in contact with Flynn after he was fired, so much as to say 'stay strong' (??) and also that he wishes for Flynn to come back to the WH. This after all that has transpired over the past few months. If trump didn't know what was going on then why this extraordinary loyalty and protection of Flynn? Why the communication? Why the seemingly special treatment? Why protect and keep in contact with the one person that has a ever increasing shit storm around him?

I personally don't believe he didn't know what was going on, but if he didn't, then the sheer incompetence, AND the multiple reported instances of obstruction of justice will do him in.

The I didn't know shit defence won't fly when it all comes crashing down. He'll at least be guilty of association.

They didn't plant him alone, Trump went down to the nursery picked him out and planted him himself AFTER being told he was an invasive weed that could spread through the whole garden.

I mean at this point, even if Trump were completely oblivious about his staff's ties to Russia, he's guilty of trying to cover it up after the fact and obstructing the investigation into his people.

He also told Comey to drop it, which is pretty fuckin' damning.

Between this and telling the Russians that he fired Comey to take the pressure off the investigation, proving an obstruction of justice charge would be a slam dunk, and I guarantee he'd get at least as much time for those charges as he would for colluding with the Russians (not to mention the latter being harder to prove).

Trump has already tweeted himself into a corner. Colluding directly with the Russians would just be a cherry on top of his two scoops of self-incrimination.

The Turks already influenced Flynn by just giving him a salary. It's why that joint mission with the Kurds was delayed.

It doesn't take much to get Flynn to betray the US.

The yelling happening on that plane right now with nowhere to go...

Someone has got to be getting fired on that plane. He is totally not bringing someone back with him.

There are Stormtroopers taking alternate hallways on that plane.

Guys, this just suggests Flynn was a direct communication channel to Trump. It could've easily been a two-way communication channel. Even if it wasn't, Flynn likely fed Trump the info about the timing of leaks and such. Zero chance Trump can please ignorance on this one.

Yep. He became tied to Russia after being warned and doing zero to address it. As well as the fact that they defended him to the point of risking obstruction of justice. Trump lost his status as a pawn and became a full on partner.

Eh is there any proof that Trump himself tried to cover any of this up? Obstruction of justice seems to be clear as day though with his recorded White House statement.
