Another PS handheld + Destiny 2 = RIP all my free time.

I don't believe the handheld rumour though.

I was skeptical on Vita, but then bought it after seeing their support for it their first E3 with it.

The following year it was barely mentioned, and now it's dead to them.

As big of a PlayStation fan I've been since 97, I could not trust them to make a 3rd handheld (not including pocket station ) and support it.

They could announce all sorts of games for it, and I couldn't trust them.

I bought a Switch, my first current Nintendo console since SNES. I'm more willing to trust Nintendo with a home console than Sony with a portable at this point.

So I hope it's fake.

Watch it be real, and me day 1 the shit out of it, though. x_x I need help.

PSP, 3 screenshots

You won the thread. I don't care what anyone else says.

I dunno if I want one.

If they do go through with it, then they need to hire someone with literally more than 2 brain cells.

Vita is great, but there is an incredible amount of stupidness in it too. No l2/r2, no l3/r3, dumb back touch, fucking memory cards, stupid name.

I heard Sony is going to release a 1080 Ti with a screen and buttons. 24 hour battery life with a 4k 144hz screen. My uncle at Nintendo told me.

After the Vita anyone would have to be crazy to support another Sony handheld/hybrid/whatever. Even portable franchises like Loco Roco and Patapon have made the jump to PS4 already.
This. Add Tearaway and Gravity Rush as well. Sony knows there's no future for them in handhelds.

To me a new Sony handheld only makes sense if it plays all PS4 games, if it is a hybrid. No direct-to-video Uncharteds, no pretty-close-to-the-real-deal Killzones. It has got to be the real deal. Vita was a failure they hopefully won't repeat.

I'd totally buy a PS Hybrid.

Really disappointing if true. It feels like they can't even handle more output for PSVR and now they are supposed to release another system they have to support?
Farpoint just released. They also formed a new studio just for VR alongside Sony London. Games doesn't just magically comes out in a single day.

Nope. Sony tried and failed twice. Microsoft thought better of even attempting. The handheld market is a one-horse race.
Unless you count iOS/Android devices.

Twice? DS sold more than PSP but i don't think you can call PSP a failure with 82 million units.

No, Sony needs to focus their efforts on the console sphere. I doubt they could do well in both console and handheld markets.

Who would even consider buying it?
Sony has shown plenty of times now that they don't understand how to support secondary platforms. They don't seem to understand that even if the hardware is awesome it'll need every bit as much love from them as their main platform.

First Sony needs to get Rockstar to make GTA: San Andreas Stories for it. And get Monster Hunter back.

Then they'll have a chance.

edit: And no overpriced memory cards!! That's the killer.

I'd totally buy a PS Hybrid.

Vita Killzone is the second best Killzone game in the franchise. Second to the PSP game because the rest is garbage for the most part (with 2 beeing just above average(

If this is real, unless this thing will play all of your digital PS4 games (in worse quality) on the go, this thing is dead.

I highlt doubt it. All these rumours so far have been highly dubious. Not to mentuon going with an AMD SoC is daft. Even on 16nm power efficiency just isn't there on AMD. They'd be able to get significantly better performance out of an ARM based SoC.

Rumors to take with a grain of salt. Could Sony be to reveal PSP3 at E3 this year? After them patent a switch like system then that concept comes out looking like the Switch. Also while Square Enix said they have lots of plans to support the Switch they say this "Aside from the existence of PSP 3 (provisional) (this is abbreviation" Also they could be partnering up with AMD with their new hybrid Cpu gpu Bristol ridge.

This felt very familiar, I'm trying to remember who the OP was.

Last year October before NX got revealed:

Tell me when Nividia made a gaming console chip? I think it's gonna be amd man. I know people want Nividia PC graphic but I just don't see it anywhere. Lots of fingers point to amd.

Well, good luck in getting your speculation right.

This is as much bullshit as the last two threads I made.

If these motherfuckers are crazy enough to do this at E3 I will applaud them for this wtf moment.

It's Sony. That release about 74 different cameras, 63 different TV models and 41 different alarm clocks. They love burning through money on premium products.

In. Please no memory card shenanigans. Killed the Vita ;_;

A more integrated remote play with ps4 would be the dream.

The chinese press release in the first link just says that Sony is planning to announce a 'new console'. It doesn't seem to outright say anything about it being portable. Could probably mean 'new SDK' for all we know if there was something lost in translation from Japanese to Chinese.

As for the PSP3 comments by Square Enix, well... from my half-arsed grasp of Japanese it reads more like speculation rather than confirmation. (Can someone who's more fluent take a closer look?)

That said, I would be over the moon if Sony really released another portable and would definitely buy one.

Not happening. Flat out. Sony would be absolutely insane to try their handheld experiment for a third time in a row when they only saw moderate success from the first handheld thanks to widespread piracy and proprietary media solution.
