What happened to that Terra Battle console game they used to lurk players that wouldn't be interested in mobile gaming into downloading and investing into their mobile game?

Can't get excited for a mobile game.
I would be happy with a Lost Odyssey port for PC right now lol.

Hell, it could even be a Mobile game, but a serious attempt and not a skinner box game.

I'm still waiting for Sakaguchi's rap album to come out

Wow. Sony said they have an announcement about a beloved Japanese creator who lost his way chasing the mobile yen coming back to PS4 in a big way. The suggestion that it might be Gooch was shot down earlier since we knew about the mobile game... but the other game might be i-...

... nah, they'll both be mobile. You know, Zael, you really were the Last Story.

That was TLS: Epilogue, and people obviously want a sequel that looks and plays like the original.
I will offer to be shuheis personal slave if he gets an exclusive mistwalkwer rpg on PlayStation that has help from sie studios

Terra Battle was pretty fun for a mobile gacha game. I look forward to the sequel (that I won't be able to play because it's not going to release in my country for some reasons)

I hope the "other" game is on console. I don't care which one. I just don't have a phone that really does games.

When the 22nd rolls around and they're both mobile games...

I really liked Blue Dragon when I first got it and I loved Lost Odyssey when that came around. Disappointing they probably didn't get the sales they deserved, especially after from what sounded like hell working with Microsoft (if I'm remembering right, *from the great "oral history of FF7? Polygon article).

As much as I'd love it to be an XPA title, I'd rather it go multiplatform. His games deserve to sell gangbusters. Sadly, Xbox crowd doesn't seem to appreciate his work as much as they should. :p

Well,
from what I recall, Lost Odyssey still sold decently, and I was under the understanding that it sold better than Last Story on Wii.

I totally agree, that not shipping on PS4 would be a huge loss, but if MS was willing to put some muscle behind the Guch and fund another exclusive form him, perhaps they could make it work. Of course, if the game was not only Play Anywhere, but also released on Steam, that would make sales way better, even if multiplat would be ideal.

I guess my question is, why hasn't another publisher stepped up to do another AAA RPG with him, and if they went multiplat, who would this publisher be? It seems like a missed opportunity on all fronts, but I guess, realistically, everyone would expect Mistwalker to compete with Final Fantasy, so perhaps the budget concerns are hugely problematic.

Terra Battle's a damn good game, I just fell out of it and when I came back it was kind of disorienting. I'd be in for a sequel.

Did it sell decently? I was under the impression it didn't do too hot, but was a hidden gem. Would be nice to hear it did okay :). I totally agree that another publisher should have done some kind of deal with Mistwalker by now though. They have proven to make amazing RPGs, and MS especially could REALLY use an exclusive RPG again. Maybe some year... lol

What's the situation with Mistwalker these days? They don't have funding or what? all these mobile games.. or is it just the JP market for smaller studios?.

MW have made some incredible RPGs. They also have some amazing talent in their ranks.... don;t get it.. want some more from them tbh...

Lost Odyssey, The Last Story, Blue Dragon.

While I'm about it.. OT but can Monolith make another bloody Baten Kaitos already.. lol

Are "the last story", "blue dragon" and "lost odessy" mistwalker ips?

If so, it's funny how this company has more original ips than platinum games. :p

Sakaguchi and Mistwalker are probably one of the few japanese studios/figureheads which are still cool with Microsoft. This is nonsense (the polygon story, not your post).

Don't think so; they're owned by their respective publishers. Sakaguchi even said that if people wanted a The Last Story sequel, it'd have to be Nintendo's decision to greenlight one, as per here.

Dear Sakaguchi, can we have a damn RPG on Playstation, where it belongs? THANK YOU.

Gaf is minority in gaming world lol. Mobile had been super huge all over the world.

Damn, it is huge. Everybody in Japan is usually playing those damn mobile games all the times and I feel old.

But the fact that this games are popular doesn't make them good. Truth is, this games cost almost nothing to make and make a ton of cash. That's why a lot of Japanese studios went mobile instead of investing on AAA.

Excited for more Terra Battle. It's the only gacha game I played where strategy and thinking is actually important. Hopefully they are better at supporting the second game and don't lock content behind Japanese-only magazines this time.

Being a huge mobile game player for almost 3 years, i can said more mobile games nowadays is of quality title.

Hortensia Saga by Sega bring a great story(suikoden 2 or fire emblem level of stories) with great characters and great guild vs guild mechanic.

Soul Reverse Zero had beautiful arts with nice gameplay+ full story voice acting.

Shironeko Project had no stamina which allow u to play the game non stop.

And etc etc. U just need to actually be more open into trying those games lol.

Aren't all three of those only in Japanese?
