What happened in egypt during roman times? Do we think this is a start of a new trilogy where we go to Rome in this time period and such?

That was the rumour, a trilogy going: Egypt > Greece > Italy (Rome).
Ahhhh very cool. This is a period of time I know very little about but will likely start researching too. I also knew very little about the American revolution before AC3 so I did a bunch of reading before that game.

All new info... You can climb everything in the game • Large and small...

Breath of the Wild did it - it saved video games.

I cannot fucking wait to climb literally everything I see.

Omg...all of this sounds fantastic! I'm ready Ubi!

Sounds awesome. Although I'm not sure if it's a good thing that they're removing the climb down function? :p

Whats that mean? i dont get it cant you go down?

why?

also
"You can no longer one hit enemies that are more powerful than you with your hidden blade "
this was a thing since like forever? I remember you couldnt kill brute forces in AC Revelations with hidden blade.

Glad they're keeping the story a secret. And the other playable char is most likely the modern/present day assassin, fingers crossed for charlotte de la cruz!

I think it means that they're going back to the pre-Unity system, where there's no dedicated button to descend. I hope that doesn't mean we'll again have to leap off of rooftops randomly whenever we wanna go down. 😂

Everything else sounds amazing though. So stoked this. Probably my favourite games series, and this one is from the AC4 team, no less. Sooo much potential here.

Reading about the time period this game takes place in. I guess they're going to focus on big characters like Cleopatra, Julius Caesar and others from that time. I'm quite excited at the prospect of revisiting Italy (if this game gets direct follow ups) in an AC game although it will be a much earlier Italy than we've previously seen in 1476 AD which was AC2.

We're likely going to hear Egyptian and Greek as well as accents of those speaking English (for the game). I hope the modern day story is a little more interesting and deep rather than the shallow first person segments we've had lately.

In regards to the news/leaks from the article; I am very excited. I loved AC1, 2, Brotherhood and some parts of 3. Black Flag and Rogue were also fantastic but felt very different. Unity bored me and Syndicate felt like far too modern for what I wanted from an AC game. I love that we're going much further back and diving into a very crazy period of time in Egyptian history... especially from a economical point of view. I like the idea of having a much freer sense of movement - rather than ledges and windows being the only things we can climb. I do like the idea of a much heavier RPG system too - it should give us all unique experiences as we play which shows they've changed the combat quite a lot.

There were lots of great philosophers/inventors/scientists in Ptolemaic Alexandria, too. Not sure if there was a famous one during Cleopatra VII's times specifically who'd fit the bill of a Leonardo-type supporting character but I could see them doing sth like that.

One thing I'm not big on is the idea of casting Cleopatra as a villain (which she will be as we've long known that she was killed by an Assassin in the AC universe). That's a role she's had to (for the most part unfairly) bear for so long throughout history and it could've been interesting to present her as an ally of the Assassins who ends up not having a happy ending.

I am somewhat curious about the sheer scale of the game. Looking at maps, it would seem like ancient Alexandria alone had an area of more than 6 square kilometres and that's in addition to other cities and the rural areas in between. For comparison, almost the entirety of Unity was set in 18th century Paris and that (again, roughly calculated from a map because I couldn't find numbers online) seems to have been a bit more than 8 square kilometres big. Not that I'm saying that bigger is better when it comes to game worlds - it isn't - but this does make me think that Origin's map will be considerably larger than previous AC maps.

Blocked Arrows? What are blocked arrows?

Arrows you've blocked with your shield.

With this much info, is it safe to expect a true gameplay presentation this E3?
If I remember correctly Unity was presented with a CGI trailer. Don't know about Syndicate though.

They are probably going to show it at MS's conferences since the GI article says its one of the first games to support Scorpio.

Also, at Ubi's conference (you'll probably see a CG trailer)

and Geoff Keighley's E3 Colisseum has a 1 hour panel for the game.

So yeah, you are going to see gameplay

Great to hear it!! :)
I can't believe I'll say that, but I'm excited to see the new AC gameplay!!

Unity had two different live demos, one focused on co-op at the Microsoft conference and one focused on SP at the Ubisoft conference.

I don't remember it, but I believe you. It's because I remember to get known about AC with a picture or a little CGI trailer regarding this scene here:

But I admit that I wasn't following it's news so much. Haven't been too excited for a new AC game since AC2, although not buying only AC Syndicate from the main games.

This one seems pretty damn interesting though. Can't wait to see it on screen!

It also kinda gives me hope about a gameplay change regarding Far Cry 5. Maybe Ubi decided to take a new direction with their open-world franchises. Apparently WD2 was much better received than WD1 too.

I would bet anything, gameplay will be show on Microsoft conference, showing the game running in 4K on scorpio. No doubt.

Yeah I'll get this. The last AC game I got was a plus in my book (Syndicate) and if this is as good as that or Black Flag, I'll like it for sure.

I do find it funny how almost everything about this game has leaked. Regardless, from what has leaked, it sounds like it could be the best one.

Time of Cleopatra +
player character they're keeping under wraps?

Prediction:

You're going to play as a Roman too. The Egyptian and the Roman work together but as their methods and paths diverge, you end the game with one of them (probably Egyptian but they might flip them for shock value/plot twist) forming the Assassin-precursor and the other forming the Templar-precursor

Cleopatra, the Ptolemaic civil war, Caesar's civil war/crossing the Rubicon, Caesar's assassination, Ptolemy, Augustus, Marc Antony, the Second Triumvirate, end of the Roman Republic
Egypt and Rome were very closely linked in this period

This being AC, you know the Rubicon and Caesar's assassination are going to be present somewhere
