MMA-GAF | Interim Thread 7

Already wrote up my thoughts on MM's comments.
Mighty Mouse has some valid points as you noted, but I fear he's too invested in MMA as a sport and completely missing the sports entertainment aspect. I've given him more respect since his last fight than I have in the past and I'm always happy to see a company man turn on Dana White and call bullshit when they see it - but he is a contractor for a business and he easily has the least drawing power of any other champion in the organization. With a record like his that just seem ridiculous.

Mighty Mouse has main evented on the UFC's biggest platform multiple times in front of millions of people, has Joe Buck talking about him on Sundays, and now goes home to stream Tekken in front of 400 people on the internet.

"Make me popular!"

This dude is clueless.

Mighty Mouse is a big gamer. The gaming industry is huge, it's bigger than film. Why is he not at gaming conventions? Guesting on huge gaming channels? There are lots of way the UFC could market him. They clearly want the UFC games to take off and be successful? Why not appoint the P4P #1 to its ambassador, why not market him alongside it, he could be demoing UFC 3 on stage with EA at their press conference for E3. The UFC is owned by WME, it's not like they don't have connections.

DJ should go to 135 and let new guys bang it out for the 125 strap. But DJ wont because he likes being the champ.

Cody vs. DJ would actually be a fight I would be interested to see which has DJ in it.

Liddell is perma ko'd it seems. That Rich Franklin right hand shot didnt do him any favors let me tell ya.

He's been off long enough to recover from that I would think. My concern with Liddell is how his past drug use has affected him today. He was quite the junkie during his fighting days.

I honestly think DJ just wants to secure the record before moving up a weight class. He's always talked about moving up and I think him breaking the record and moving up gives him a fast track to an immediate title shot in that weight class or at least a number 1 contenders match.

Man, that's a real "against the wall" fight for Weidman.
And its in NY again.

Rockholt is chilling and Weidman is looking to join his buddy Al as a Realtor

Beast. Just because Hunt is being forced into this fight by the UFC who he is suing. Feel like there's a lot of distractions.

Yeah, normally I'd back Hunt against Lewis, even at this stage in his career, but I have to think all the behind the scenes bullshit is going to play a factor.

I thought he still had another fight on his contract after this one?

Got no problem seeing him sleep some chumps in Bellator for another year or two though.

I'm in the process of buying Bellator NYC tickets

Should I go through with it?

But if I do that I miss one of my gym members fight in a kickboxing match for his 4th title.

Good thing the ref got in there immediately so he didn't take more than one of those shots without the mouthguard
