♦ What are the in-game requirements for accessing Stormblood content?

You must have a Lv60 character that has completed all the Main Scenario Quests from patch 2.0 ARR to patch 3.5 HW. However— you can still acquire the Red Mage and Samurai jobs as long as you have Stormblood and also reached Lv50 on one job.

Ok so I can start a Samurai/Red Mage right away if I already have a lvl 50 character but can't access the Stormblood Story Content until I finish all the MSQs and have a lvl 60 character right? Almost passed on this until I leveled up my NIN, but if this is true I will totally be there Day 1!!

You've got it right

Jobs have new unique sprinting animations when the weapon is drawn.

Also sprinting doesn't cost TP anymore!

Also ground mounts are faster!
Minor QoL changes

Wait, what?

I thought I read somewhere that you would *not* need to complete any of Heavensward in order to access stormblood content. I haven't done any post heavensward stuff because of this.

Son of a bitch. Guess I'm buying the expensive item to skip it because forget slogging my way through that many MSQs.

Someone spoonfeed me on why WHMs are now despised. I'm out of the loop.

I'm WHM.

I'm so sorry.

I'm sorry.

No, really, I feel bad for you.

Seriously though, is just the new mechanic the though for WHM dosn't seem very fun or useful, also they didn't provide Raid utility. Oh, and also took some of their best abilities and made them cross heal skills. But, on paper, looks like a perfectly viable healer job. Don't worry.

I guess the simplest way to put it would be...

You know AST's Spear card (It reduces the cooldown of abilities)

Your new mechanic is pretty much a weaker/equal to Spear card based on RNG, that you can't control when you use.

You obviously need to be caught up with the story to access the Stormblood areas and story.

The new jobs and system changes don't require to be caught up though

You don't need to complete HW MSQ to get RDM and SAM jobs, you need it to access SB MSQ and content. It was the same with HW....

Back in as of last week, need to grind out five more BLM levels and get a $25 MSQ jump potion and then we can RDM it.

Guys my main is White Mage and its the only class I've played. What the fuck do I do now?

Are you a Savage Raider? Find a Noct AST buddy and raid away; WHM is getting a raw deal but all signs point to it being functional. Just not, y'know, particularly appealing.

If you're more casual and more of a dungeon player, wreck shit. WHM's new skills are not good for the way heavy healing works in the game, but Thin Air + more Assizes + Holy still being awesome and the AOE nerfs SCH is getting will make WHM uncontested dungeon king.

There's definitely a lot with WHM that'll need fixing whenever Yoshida decides to acknowledge everything is not fine, but for the most part it works.

They were talking about removing the requirement at one point because it's a hurdle to new players.

Then they decided to keep the hurdle and just let you buy your way out on the cash shop. If you finished 3.0, though, the HW postgame MSQ stuff is really short.

Guess Who

2 modes: A 60fps/1080p mode and a highres mode at 30fps. (I guess is checkerboard, but not sure...)

60fps/1080p would be the better option imo. Wonder if there will be any additional graphical enhancements.

I'm fairly certain the higher-res mode is still 60fps (or at least, unlocked - I'd bet there's still quite a lot of framedrops in places with tons of characters, like the current PS4 version). YoshiP specifically said they chose not to go to native 4K so that they could keep the framerate high.

Oh god do I do the MSQ on Machinist to see if it's still fun or drop everything and level Samurai straight away? Decisions, decisions.

I'm sadly only level 22......but I'm excited that I can level with the class changes come in 2 days. My bard won't have WM to piss me off come level 50 when I get there XD

Samurai and red mage though I think can be leveled from 50-60 without even owning Stormblood

Dress in black, spend the next 24 hours in mourning, and pretend new MCH is the third job they're adding SB after old MCH died on its way to its home planet. Then pick flamethrower vs melee with a castbar

idk I think I'm just going to level AST out of salt

I was going to start a new class today but after reading that they're fucking with all the jobs I decided to wait.

I hope Dragoon comes out okay.

Going to wait on Stormblood for a bit, not going to have the time to play it right now.

Is there any way to go back and do the Heavensward MSQs if you buy the MSQ skip item without making a new character? Probably not going to do it, at least not right away but still curious.

I haven't played this in a few years...but now that I'm done with nursing school i have a hankering to jump back in...

Whats the best/quickest way of getting the stormblood CE (with the early access code) digital?

Started playing again this week and have been trying to finish up every dungeon and trial I haven't done yet. So close to finishing.

Didn't know Hildibrand had some trials so I'm finally going through that. It's amazing.

... damn it I was going to wait until SB to re-up my sub, but now you reminded me of the Warring Triad and how I love the music and battles there, so I guess I'm doing that now!

I really don't want to have to do the Dragonsong War quests to access the new area. I've got about 14 quests left to finish Heavensward. Then 44 more to finish Dragonsong War. Ugh. I might be doing a lot of cutscene skipping for that, unfortunately.

But what about post-dragonsong war, that has all the meat!

Got my fluffy lion mount, my completed Anima weapon, and the Louisoix minion before the expansion hit. Definitely ready on my end.
