If we use the recent Skyward Sword amiibo as an example (plus the way in which Amazon has handled limited Nintendo products in general as of late) then yes, they will likely limit it to Prime members only, one per person, and it will only go on sale on the actual release date of the product.
It will still less out in less than a minute.
I remember when this shit happened with the switch on amazon. I signed up for email notification of when it was available, then went to do something, keeping tabs on my email

Amazon notifications are basically useless for items like this. Those emails usually don't get sent out until several hours after an item goes live, so with something that sells out it minutes, its pointless.

I'm so glad I didn't waste my precious sleeping hours waiting for pre-orders to go up yesterday.
I was lucky enough to snag 4 NES Classics by keeping an eye on them, and could probably had gotten two more if I had really tried. I'll just have to be confident I can do the same thing around this time.

I didn't say they were easy to get. Had to bust my ass off to get them, and had to lower my productivity at work to get 2. Not exactly ideal. 2 were for friends, 2 were for me.

Why assume the poster is scalping them? I got three myself. One from a preorder, and two from just keeping an eye on when they would go up. One ended up being for me, and the other two wound up being Christmas gifts for my brother and sister.

I managed to pre-order one in the UK from Shopto. Price has come down a bit already - Initially £85, and now down to £77 but still more than anywhere else... that being said - it was bite the bullet and try my luck with Shopto despite hating them, or not get a pre-order.
Just really hoping they lower the price to match everywhere else.

Amazon Germany won't ship to America.
Counting on either Amazon France, Amazon Spain, or Amazon Italy now.
After Amazon UK's experience, I would expect the ban on shipping this to the US will apply to all of the EU Amazons.
US Amazon store is still a placeholder. I believe no US outlets have preorders live yet.
This thread is just for links and status of what went live / sold out.

Are you subscribed to the Nintendo UK Store for updates? Quite a few retailers have already put up pre orders, but I'm sure they'll put up more. Amazon UK has already put them up twice.

I feel it's better to centralize in one thread. Adding a few more links is better than separate threads in my opinion.
It seems only the UK has put preorders up so far. I saw nothing in any of the other european Amazon store fronts, or other retailers for that matter. Can't believe they didn't announce a preorder starting date, it's amateurish.

never mind the scalpers. 90% of the people in the "what did you do with your nes classic" either left it on a shelf or sold it for a profit.
They did that last time too before release. Price will be adjusted.
At least Amazon.de didn't adjust the price last time.
