Orphan Black Season 5 |OT| The Final Trip – Saturdays at 10/9c on BBC America

As for MK, it felt like they only brought her back to be a plot device.
That's cause this was originally supposed to happen in last year's finale. Maybe if they had stuck to the plan they wouldn't have added the Rachel subtext that made MK an afterthought in her own murder. Stealing millions and trying to blow him up should have been enough motivation for him.

DigitalSpy - Orphan Black creators defend grisly death of beloved character: "Nobody is safe"

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, co-creator Graeme Manson said it was "because nobody is safe on the show and we're in our final season.

"We don't kill clones easily, but I guess it was just MK's time," he added.

John Fawcett added: "It was. This was a conflict between the two.

I'm sad for MK. But let's be honest... she was pretty far along with her illness given what we understand of the symptoms. She was due for death. :/

That needle scene would've been 10x worse if the CG wasn't so bad that the needle was unnaturally moving around in unrealistic ways :p

I thought that was one of the best Alison and Donnie episodes they've ever done. Lots of callbacks to their previous misdeeds and resolutions to most of them! Good stuff.

I like how Cosima is seen by Alison as an eccentric weirdo when they first meet.

The shrooms did not help this at all.

So it seems like this is the last time we'll see Donnie and Alison, with Alison heading off to find herself and Donnie not really having a part in the plot. A good sendoff for them.

Kira is annoying the hell out of me though.

Finally caught up. MK's death was pretty brutal. Really liked the most recent one. That part where Felix closes the curtains and then they pull Donnie off the stage was priceless. Alison has always been my favorite so I really dug that one. Sucks that she will be gone, even if it's temporary, but it was a really great episode.

Let the Children and Childbearers Toil - Mrs. S. and Sarah set out to investigate a lead on a Neolution defector; an unexpected reunion takes place; Cosima has a terrible discovery.

Pretty fun to see Virginia Coady again, even though I had to pause the episode to look up who she was because I didn't remember. :p The connecting of the dots (re: Susan and Virginia both working with PT early on) made a lot of sense and it also retroactively made season 3 better.

Seeing what P.T/Susan/Virginia did to the monster in the words is not a good omen for Kira.

I really liked the scene of Sara visiting Helena at the orphanage.

On S05E04:

  • Kira turns emo.
  • Cosima wants to try out for the role of Slasher Victim # 1.
  • The showrunners find an excuse for the Iraq/warzone plotline.
  • Mrs. S wears nice dresses.

It took me a minute too lol

I actually mostly enjoyed the episode, but...

- I find the Coady character boring, and hated the Castor storyline, and I'm sad they've dug her up again.

- Adele is less annoying and has a slightly less terrible southern accent this time. But it's awkward writing that she shows up so conveniently to help investigate.

- I'm really disappointed that they are sidelining Helena. She needs to be kicking Neolution ass. Sarah is the least likeable clone and yet they're making her the star clone of the season. I understand why, but it doesn't make for good TV. She's boring and I'm so done with her temper tantrums and inability to actually get shit done.

- Cosima suddenly sneaking around and being in everyone's face doesn't totally ring true for me. Feels like they're trying to play her like Sarah.

- Mrs. S was great this episode, and I'm glad she got a chance to play someone else.

I'm aware of that. Adele had nothing else going on that she could just up and go to Switzerland to do research?

Wasn't she, like, disbarred and perpetually on drugs during the entirety of season 4? It really didn't seem like she had a whole lot going on.

Ease for Idle Millionaires - Sarah and Kira spend time at home; secrets are unlocked about Kira's gifts; Cosima joins Delphine at the mansion.

Cosima looked damn good in that tux.

Mudd and Delphine's inability to speak the full truth, makes them frustrating characters at times.

Yay, for Kira becoming a hustler.

So PT may be a fraud when it comes to his age and the neo's are planning to harvest Kira's eggs.

Cosima and Delphine's interactions were great this episode, and yet on her own I find Cosima really annoying this season. Despite how smart she is, she has zero ability to see the big picture and act accordingly.

In general, I just don't like how they've silo'd each clone into a separate story this season and already written two of them out of the show. They work the best as characters when they're together, not apart.

Manacled Slim Wrists - Cosima is forced into an alliance that accelerates PT Westmorland's agenda; Krystal stumbles onto a vital clue.

Good episode. Krystal was great.

Looks like that cosmetics CEO guy was played by Tom Cullen, Tatiana's real life boyfriend.

Krystal was great to see again, she's my favorite of the newer clones, excluding the main 4.

PT exposed for the con-man that he really is. Can't believe it took Mudd that long to come to her senses, when he had her walking around with a cowbell. And it still seemed like she warned Virginia of what Susan was doing.
