You just reminded me of another inconsistency.

During their intro with each other, Jill is clearly brainwashed:

Jill: "Ready for training."
Wesker: "Let's see how good you really are."

*Jill wins*

Jill: "My training's complete."

Win quote: "This has been a long time coming, Wesker!"

Clearly the in game win quote and the text don't align with one another. She doesn't appear to be brainwashed in the winning text quote.

Against Chris, she appears to be 100% brainwashed.

Against Nemesis, her win quote still portrays her as brainwashed, but her winning text ("Stop. Following. Me!") makes her appear as if she's normal.

She also doesn't appear to be brainwashed when she's teaming up with Blade in her ending.

Nerd stuff.

Well, the Wesker point is a good one, though it makes me wonder about the device itself.

In her ending, she still has the device attached, and still talks a bit odd ("Your heart rate and body temperature aren't within normal parameters") even though she goes back to talking normal.

In her intro with Nemesis she says, "Nemesis has been spotted.", and her win quote, "Target is down. Administering sedative." makes it seem like they were trying to capture him.

While there's nothing stated, her personal story in the game seems to be locating mutants and bringing them in for Wesker.

Against X-Men, Magneto, or Deadpool:

"Ready to seize mutant target."
"Mutant taken into custody."

Against Doom and MODOK:

"Target acquired."
"Ready to administer drugs to captive."

Against Super Skrull:

"The alien life-form has been immobilized. I will return to the laboratory with tissue samples."

Against Shuma Gorath:

"You are not one of Wesker's B.O.W.s. What are you?"

Based on Wesker's ending where he captures various superheroes, I can see where they were going with this one.

There were a bunch more, but overall they don't seem to matter all too much if the contents of Spider-Man/Deadpool are anything to go by. Rocket Raccoon's book has one, so they may have covers that have the same characters at point, but maybe the artist for Hawkeye also just wanted to draw Rocket.

I do think this is what makes the variants interesting.
We might be in store for more of these where said character won't even be on their cover.
Happens all the time with some variants due to how many covers there can be. So we might see even cooler details.

Like i'm not saying I know the inner workings on marketing and what it takes to do it.
But surely things could be a lot better than the current state of things. The huge gaps of info and the lukewarm return and then going back to silence is just odd.

Injustice might have stayed quiet for awhile. But they came back in a big way afterwards.

I would guess Marvel and Capcom had their marketing/release roadmap planned out way before Ryce released the 28 character roster. They'd probably have to schedule a meeting and agree upon a new release schedule which would take time

Yeah that is good news. But also when we have the Datamine leak more than likely being accurate as well. The roster still has a lot of problems. But is at least "slightly" better if only barely.

Though it remains to be seen if we get any "Story mode only" characters as well.

Feels like Capcom and Marvel might be trying for some sort of Media Blitz a month before release. Dunno how well that'll work when they're basically up against Destiny 2.

I can see the merit in buying a season pass if you know all the contents. If you have people over all the time who might like those other characters. I don't give a shit about Roy or Lucas in smash but I bought them for my friends who come over often.

I do agree about buying a Season Pass blind. Especially when as of late a lot of passes are reduced before all of the content is even out. Seeing the Dead Rising 4 season pass on sale for 10 before all DLC was out was so sad/funny.



I do feel like this should become standard in fighting games though. You should be able to train agaisnt and use character in tutorial without buying.
Though I know the reason they don't is so people can't go "I don't like this character" and then not buy them.

I wouldn't mind a limited time trial period with the DLC characters. Like 5-6 hours to play them for free then decide whether or not to buy. Even if people won't buy the season pass, they should at least encourage people to try and buy the characters they are interested in.

It's pretty obvious capcom made sure to put more love in Care into marvels side. Since they won't get in trouble for ruining their own characters.

Good to see Dorm back, FChamp gonna eat.

If we get Frank West, Haggar, Firebrand, Dormammu, Ghost Rider and Venom then that's a solid roster at 34. Still lower than Vanilla Marvel 3 and still lacking in diversity but it's not bad now because we at least have variety of playstyle in those 6 characters.

Iron Fist and MODOK are the two main characters missing from Marvel 3 that aren't X Men. I can definitely wait on either though I do hope MODOK comes back sooner rather than later.

On Capcom's side you got Vergil and Wesker missing alongside the Clover characters Joe and Ammy. I think those 4 plus a couple of ladies on Marvels side and IF/MODOK would have made this a very solid roster.

Season pass is $30€ right? Thats $5€ a character which is actually not that bad tbh, the problem of course being these companies announcing the passes before the games are even out.

Im looking at this in a vacuum btw, value wise for what you get out of a character in a fighting game, I think everyone can agree that $5€ a pop is about right (revelator's characters are 5 I think for example)
