Epic Games said:
Final Monolith art update
Iggy Rework
Entirely new itemization (Card System rework)
Rebalanced in-game economy
Full gameplay rebalance (based on card and economy changes)
New Mastery system
Our next ranged carry
And more!

Exciting stuff. The visual upgrade looks spectacular.

I came back like a month ago and I'm in again, I had several issues with pre-Monolith state that now are not present. I would say the overall aspect of the game (although gorgeous) and itemization are my biggest gripes right now so, the august update sounds great for me.

Might get back to the game once it drops, Paragon is tons of fun but i just don't have the time that i used to when it comes to online games :/

Any details on how they are changing the card system as that was by far my biggest issue with the game when I tried it..?

Did they increase the speed? It used to be a bit longer than that (I played like a year ago).

They changed the map to a new, smaller layout.
The movement speed was increased and travel mode was removed.
Towers were nerfed.

Those are the factors in which the rounds are a lot shorter than the other map.

Hoping the card changes are good. I really want to like this game but the card system always turned me off and the gameplay is a little clunky. I don't know if it's lag or animations or what, but the combat just feels kind if off.

Tried to get back into it after a long while off, and trying to re-learn the card system just turned me off from the whole thing.

Hope the changes help make it more intuitive.

The card system has been overhauled.

There is no more in-game, 60 card point cap, the longer the round goes on the stronger you can become.

Cards are bought with in game currency.

100 new cards.

Wards are gonna be more expensive so no more free vision.

I really need to try this game out.

I watched a giant bomb quick look of it at some point but just never dove in, despite it looking interesting.

My first time playing a MOBA style game and it's helluva fun.

I love how all the different characters really feel unique, and if you're willing to read a little on their background you can find out how they all interact with each other in the world.

The card system could do with an overhaul though so I look forward to that. At the moment it imo it just doesn't really work as well as it should.

I loved the game from what i've played, but the card system do need a rework. Someone can be way stronger than you for having the right cards, that's a huge barrier.

Hopefully they will make it even better with this update!

I'm hoping the card system rework is good. I like the gameplay outside of that, but it's pretty garbage atm.

Good to hear the card system already was reworked and is getting reworked further. That was probably my biggest issue when I originally played it as I couldn't really wrap my head around it (also player speed, but I know that's been tweaked since). Kind of hard to imagine the game looking even better. It's already pretty gorgeous.

Whoa... when did this happen? 100 new cards? No cp cap?

Yin main here. That graphical jump is fucking massive!.

I started playing this game almost every day since May (officially), and its current state its very good.

Fast paced and the animations for each individual character are the best I've seen in a competitive game.

Epic created something awesome here.

I've been reading the changes coming and I cant wait to see it all unfold in August. Hopefully the update eleveates the game to a more positive ground.

Is the game itself fun? Looks kind of stiff and uninspired.

It is built to showcase the engine and its features, you can't even see anything during the teamfight because of the dense effects and noise.

It isn't, it plays like a Dota version of Smite: clunkier, longer cooldowns, animation delays, the map is still too big, vertical aspect of the game is annoying.

I don't know how much their item/card system got changed, but it was an insidious feature coming from the business/monetization field.

33 days in-game time later and I couldn't disagree more.....apart from the current card system.

It just sounds like you want league....basic shit inside and out.

Really love this game and have just been waiting for them to update more. This seems like a great time to come back to it. Hope Epic gets a lot of success from this game.

I should really give this game a try. It looked interesting when I first heard about it but MOBA scared me off. Only ones I've played are DOTA 2 and HotS.

Is there any way to get a comparison shot from tease location in current Monlith?
I haven't played since before Monolith so I'm curious about the graphical leap.

I want to see the fight as I play the game, not some one-upping of JJ Abrams.

UE4 steroids make a single ability cloud the entire screen, teamfight amplifies that into flashbang after flashbang:

Hell yes it's fun, I went from hating it and thinking it's the worst game of all time to be it literally being my most played game. It's fucking awesome!
Also can't wait to flood the console screenshot thread with more screens, I'm excited!

I've fallen in love with Paladins as a game, but I hate their server backend. Would I like Paragon?

Not comparable games, this is a traditional MOBA in almost every sense but the perspective. Maybe if you've ever toyed with Smite and liked it, this would be for you, but if something like Dota or League have never appealed to you, be a bit more wary if you're expecting an action/shooter game.

I don't think that screenshot is any location on the current monolith. Its probably more like a new area or spot in the map.

The whole map is getting a re-work.

Looks like the entrance to the jungle to me coming down from the base
Green mob on the left, regular jungle mobs on the right.

They are called Amber LInks
