So how bad is the Switch stock situation?

Where is this information originating from? It is not the first time I have heard it, and I would like to know if there is a concrete source or if it is a rumor.

When will they be in stock, Midnight PDT?

I don't know if Amazon will have it in stock outside of their physical stores today but I do know Prime Day deals happen at different and very random times during the day. They may go on sale at 11am or 3pm, who knows.

In line at the Amazon Book Store in Seattle and there are a lot of people here... I don't imagine they're lining up for sweet, sweet Echo deals......

Hopefully they've got a bunch of units 😱😱😱

Edit: Looks like they have over 100 units, everyone in line got a ticket. U District Amazon Book Store has lots! If you're in the Seattle area, seems like a safe bet.

I'm shocked that the multi-coloured Joy Con's are hard to find. I just want a couple of blue ones. :(
I just managed to find some yellow joy-cons at a target near me, was even able to buy it online to have them hold it for pickup. I still have to go get them, but I've been seeing minor restocks at some targets and gamestops in my area. I'm in Michigan btw.

Follow cheap ass gamer on twitter. And wario 64. Never miss a deal again

This is the truth. That's how I got one from Amazon over the weekend, through notifications from Wario64's Twitter feed. Stock has been popping up (briefly) over the past few days.

It's in stock at Walmart right now.

I live in Vancouver, and most of the retailers stock used Grey Joy Con's. I have a bad experienced with owning pre-owned controllers, one of which was filled with cockroaches inside of the casing.

Just to let people know. If anybody happens to live in El Centro. They got 8 Switches in wal mart. Plus I saw gravity rush remaster I think. Bunch of Crash copies. Persona 5. And other hard to find games. Kinda of a goldmine here. Think I even saw Bayontta 2 (with 1).

I'm visiting people here and never realized how much better their selection is here compare to my home.

Noticed today that the screen within the screen bezel portion of my switch was rising up today. I can push it down and it's super soft and then pops up another corner sometimes.

Someone please tell me for the love of God that this is normal and I don't have to send mine in for repair

Doesn't look normal to me, I'd suggest contacting a CSR.

I can confirm. My switch came back completely wiped. Sucks because I had cleared the 4 divine beast.

Seems some people retain their saves, while others (like the user above me) lose everything.

This isn't exactly a dock issue, but I gotta ask. Has anyone had an issue with a brand new switch having the tiniest little scratch (the size of a few pixels) on it? It's only really noticeable when looking at bright things. It's a small issue compared to the dock, but what are the odds it's covered by some warranty :D It'll bug me to no end.

Found on Reddit that a lot of people seem to have the issue. It doesn't seem like a deal breaker. I think I will wait until Nintendo comes out with a save transfer system. Surely they are working on it.

Wait, my Zelda is physical. Is my save on the cartridge at least?

Won't be covered by warranty but if it's brand new you should return it. I would be bothered by that too

Saw some Switches in the wild for the first time tonight. Target near my office had 11 grays, one red/blue.

Burbank, CA if anyone is wondering.

Not sure if this is old news, but if there are any NYC gaf people around looking for a switch, the Nintendo store near Rockefeller Center restocks daily in the morning when they open at 9.

I had the misfortune of going there around 6 after work earlier this week, only to learn that they already ran out of stock. I don't know about the camping situation there, but I'd assume you would want to get there sometime around 8-8:30 in the morning to ensure you get one.

For those who "preordered" the bundle from Gamestop with 7/21 delivery, how long did it take to ship? How typical are the shipping times?

Huh? Mine hasn't shipped yet and it says it ships by the 21st, not that it'll be delivered by the 21st.

Im surprised it sells like hotcakes at $300 im not sure if Nintendo can't produce enough of these things or if its really that popular

No way! I keep checking the Detroit area for yellow ones and can't find them ever.

I have a Switch and loved Zelda and Mario Kart, but everytime I go to the shops and I see the pitiful switch section which has about 10 games I have to wonder how Nintendo are selling these things so well??? I'd love to see more come out for my switch so I have an excuse to play it and I hope that as Nintendo make more the playerbase will increase and devs will start pumping out the 3rd party titles.

Ask me about the GAF Notebook
Friend of mine and fellow GAFer said there was a decent stock at his local LA area Target when he went this evening.

It's wild reading these threads and seeing what NA goes through. Just called my local EB Games (Aus) and they have over 100 in stock, and have had stock consistently since launch.

If anyone is legit dying for a console and wants one from Aus i'd be happy to send it to you. As far as i understand they aren't region locked.

100? Is EB Games the same as in the US where they are tiny stores? How the hell do they fit 100 Switches in there?

I'm in the Northern VA area and on Thursday in the late afternoon I went to a Target for something and they happened to have 3 Nintendo Switch systems sitting there. First time I'd seen it in a store. Then yesterday I went to another local Target in the afternoon as well and they had 2 Nintendo Switch systems in stock. So maybe at least in my area we're starting to see more supply readily available.

Also one GameStop had the Red/Blue Joy-Con set in stock.

Any fellow Mexican Gaffers know if it is easy to find a Switch in Mexico? I am going there for a vacation trip tomorrow and I am thinking on buying one if I find there, but I don't know what price to expect.

DO NOT buy a switch in Mexico, it goes for $500 dls retail price.

recently amazon.com.mx reduced the price to about $450 but that's as good as it gets

please don't be part of the problem and give them the middle finger like everyone else is doing.

When you have a company like Nintendo who can't seem to produce stock properly it's no wonder they are in short supply. Less than 200k units available in the US last month? Then when they finally ramp up production to meet current demand we head into Christmas time and the supply chain once again becomes strained. It will likely be next Spring before Nintendo gets things figured out.
