Headshot and kill lynels in 1 mounted hit forever since mounted stabs do not waste durability. If only there was a way to easily recreate this. I want this sword lol

BREAKING NEWS: Horror on GAF today as word that isn't exactly a spoiler is put in spoiler tags. Spoiler culture named as main perpetrator.

Seriously what's with people getting so riled up over a spoiler tag?

On Topic: Probably fake, and even if it were it's not exactly an amazing discovery considering it'll be gone in a few hits anyway.

The existence of some special challenge on an island was though, which was given away by the name, So I can see the logic there.

Everyone knows Ganon is the final boss of botw though, it's the games whole premise...

The name of that island does not clue anyone in to the challenge or scenario of the island whatsoever

Ganon is a spoiler you can reveal just to let people down gently because of the lack of any surprise or because there's no ACTUAL spoiling to it.

It's expected by this point, the bigger spoiler is if it's NOT him by this point.

Also Yuga is a stupid villain as well for similar reasons

The name of the island has no hint or bearing on ANYTHING (not on plot or form/function of the Island) so I don't see how it's a spoiler either. It's....just a name. A mysterious name! But just a name.

lol so funny how this thread turned into a discussion about spoiler tags.

Does this game take place in
Hyrule
?

Alright, calling bamboozle for 3 reasons. Bamboozle on the fact this was the Nintendo Switch version, when it actually puts itself off as the Wii U version. Here's how:
  • This screenshot and your video deliberately hide what the distinguishes the Wii U version from the Switch. The D-Pad/Buttons on the top left of the screen.
Your video and picture both are in portrait mode, hiding the top left of the screen. If this is the switch version, why not just take a screenshot? Is this actually the Wii U version, and you just have TCPGecko running? (for reference, TCPGecko is a RAM manipulation tool which has a bug that causes the console to crash if you try to open Miiverse/Web browser among other things. This prevents screenshots)
  • Your controller makes a weird noise at 0:13 in the video.
What is this? I know the joy con aren't that noisy, and neither is the Pro controller. The gamepad though? Wii U pro controller?
  • You are in the Nintendo Homebrew discord.
Either you or someone posing as you is in the Nintendo Homebrew discord server. Their username and your reddit username are identical, the only difference is you have a capital E. Just you being in the Homebrew discord doesn't mean much, but it does imply you are no stranger to hacking. So you can't pull the "I've never hacked in my life, idk what you're talking about!" card here.

Bonus:
  • You said your game crashed, and you just came back to this weapon. I know for a fact the game doesn't save as a fail-safe for crashes, so there's doubt you actually came back to an earlier state with this new blade.

If true that this happened due to the game crashing, I'm truly curious what was happening behind the scenes for this to happen. I don't see why the game would randomly put the integer to the highest possible number.

I kinda find it suspicious that the left part of the screen is cut off. It may just be hacked into the Wii U version.

It's a throw back to when games had 8kb of ram and a random garbage number could theoretically actually happen every now and then assuming a game doesn't have a proper checksum.

Every game in the last 30 years has used a checksum for their saves... It's very very very very very very very very very very very obvious from the start that what he was claiming wasn't something that happened. This was a hack of the wii u Version and everyone should have known it right away.

Apparently Reddit seems onto the idea that it's a Wii U hack. A shame, because I want to one-shot Ganon.

Yeah this doesn't seem to be on the up and up

EDIT: EVEN MORE FLAMING PROOF! OP claims this came from the Gold lynel in the Coliseum, however they drop exclusively Flame Blades, NOT Savage Lynel Swords. Proof

It's bullshit. Gold Lynels in the Coliseum always drop a Flame Blade.

So it would be impossible to get Savage Lynel Sword from a Gold Lynel in the Coliseum.

A Save Editor exists for the Wii U version of BOTW so one can EASILY modify weapons to have ridiculous stats and durability.

This works for both CEMU and modified Wii U's by the way

Here's proof - http://www.marcrobledo.com/savegame-editors/zelda-botw/

This is some guy trying fool a bunch of redditors into thinking this some kind of memory exploit glitch. Oh yes there is most certainly some memory exploit going on, but most definitely not of the lucky glitch variety.

Mobile user should disallow videos to embed. It can cause the page to crash and generally slow down your experience. It also has a heavy data cost too.

Does he prove its the switch version?

I can do that (and have) with a save edit on the Wii U so I don't believe him haha

Yeah if it was the Switch version, I'd be curious too, but the the fact the user said he got a Savage Lynel Sword from a Coliseum Gold Lynel makes this even more dubious since they only carry Flame Blades.

I watched the 'proof' video and at no point does he show the controller or console.

Well, that's going to make a difference in speed runs if they can reproduce it.

Edit: Oh, so it appears to be fake.

Presumably this is actually a "Damage -1" weapon as an unsigned short?

Edit: Oh, fake is also very possible!

Jeez neogaf, I didn't want to know what the subtitle was for the new Zelda game, and there it is right there in the title >_< abbreviated but still >_<

now I know what the general theme and vibe of the game is before playing it.

Yup. Lynel in the Coliseum is 100% Flameblade drop.

It's gonna be a shame when it breaks, though.

It won't break, because he's a cheater
