SNES Classic Preorder Shitshow Discussion (Please Read Rules in OP)

Yeah, thanks to him I got one from Amazon UK.

Ya, me too.

Great thread BTW. If I could make one minor suggestion, I notice you put up the time duration and I was thinking maybe you should also add the date of the last time it was available just for reference in the future when this thread becomes much older.

Good idea. Added a time. Sadly, I probably will only be able to keep track for US ones.

GameStop has this up as an individual page, OP.

Thanks, added.

Of course it went up on a site while I was playing Splatoon 2.... Walmart are cunning assholes, putting it up on the night of a big Switch game release.

I literally walked away from my phone for about 45 minutes and of course, that's when the Walmart e-mail went out. Good lord, my luck....

Heh, same for me, except my watch buzzed me with the notification that it was available in mid match and I dropped the controller immediately and grabbed my laptop =)

I'd say it's the best example of how useful a smart watch can be when you combine it with Wario64 =)

I had Twitter notices sent to my phone from wario, I was doing this to try and score the switch. Did that this morning at Amazon, The snes was the bonus

Best way to do it.

I was actually napping and woke up because of the notification. Really lucky.

Didn't she already do that?

That is the sole purpose of my Apple Watch. If something major is going on, the people I am with at the time give me weird looks because I am looking at my watch every couple of minutes LOL. I have to assure them I am not bored with them.

Managed to get an order in on Walmart. Accidentally sent a cancellation request though. Currently sick tonight so wasn't thinking clearly. Sent a support email though hoping they can cancel that request. Assuming the order doesn't get canceled outright because Walmart likely put theirs up to early since the product page is completely gone now. Guess we'll see. If not I'm going to try and go for Amazon anyway as that's where I wanted to get from in the first place.

Do you want a Play-Asia link for the US version in the OP?

I AFK'd out of my Salmon Run match for one.

I was in the middle of Salmon Run too! Except I'm too nice, so I only looked at the computer screen to fill in the info for Wal-Mart when there wasn't a boss on the screen. At the time I felt so foolish for it. Like "Because you paused for like a minute to help your team, you're gonna lose this preorder, dumbass!!!" Wonder if the rando team members were still wondering "WTF's with this kid over here??" haha.

Anyway, I got one preorder in for Wal-Mart, and I'm not sure if I need another one somewhere else. I know from following the amiibo thread that preorders can get cancelled sometimes, but still ): What if I end up with two? I'd feel dirty kind of selling it after, like a scalper. How healthy do you guys think these Wal-Mart preorders are?

Have you guys just been getting 50+ notifications from Wario every day for the last month in the hopes of them being SNES related? I think I'd rather try my luck rather than get my hopes up every time I get a notification.

I'm sorry but how does one accidently send a cancellation request? Please amuse us with your story :)

Ebay has the system for as low as $175 if you can take a light scalping and just wanna be done.

It also has it as high as $1200, but that's obviously crazy.

He doesn't tweet that much every day. Today was kind of an exception with so many items being made available. Also I guess this week too since there's been a lot of big sales this week too. CheapAssGamer's twitter is far more aggressive though. Plus, it just gets sent to my watch so I glance and move on. It's pretty painless for all the deals, hard to get items and price errors I get because of him.

But then you don't get alerted to deals on games you really shouldn't be buying right now, but, like, dude it's on sale so just buy it yooooo

Actually, I'm usually nearby my computer, so I just keep the tab up and glance at it once and awhile. On Google Chrome, it'll actually change the name of the tab to alert you of new messages, so you don't even have to click on the tab to check it. Don't find it too annoying.

Smart watches + Wario64 is the real deal. Game changing, no joke.

Okay, I'm not gonna lie, I saw the game list and was like "Star Fox 2? That has to be a typo, right?"

Then I looked into it more and I was like "HOLY SHIT"

They come up as a banner for a couple of seconds and then disappear

I don't think any gaffers got cancels

I sort of did. They immediately cancelled my first two attempts to order one because they didn't like something about my credit card. I then used a different card for my third attempt and that seems to have worked. People who got cancellations may just be having a similar issue to what I had? Unless their cancellation email gave them a different reason.

I was doing that at first but then I gradually stopped because time had passed since the announcement and it kind of slipped my mind. Stupid FCC.

All the comments I saw on NeoGAF that went into any detail said their paypal couldn't be verified. Not sure if that applied to everyone who used paypal, however.

Well that's a bit different, people were concerned that this was a mistake and were getting cancelled because of it.

I've ordered from Walmart.com a couple months ago, and I might be able to explain the credit card cancellation issue.
Walmart's systems are overly strict; if you have a new account and the website doesn't like your credit card and/or your purchase, the website will cancel your order. You have to call Walmart customer support to get the website to accept your credit card, and then you can place the order.
The CS rep I had was great so it didn't take long, but it's obviously long enough for you to miss the pre-order.

I got lucky with my pre-order, visited GAF 20 minutes after the thread went up.

Seriously folks, NowInStock. Got the notification a couple minutes before even Wario64's tweet.

Even that is on a case by case basis. I have nowinstock text alerts and email alerts. I got the text alert 15(!!!) minutes after wario tweeted and an emailed alert 30 (!!!!!!) minutes after he tweeted. It's good to have them on, but I'm definitely on team Wario + Apple Watch. I've had him on for like a year, lol, and I almost never miss stuff (unless it's at like 4am).

Ok dammit, I got the notification from Wario way too late. Can anyone recommend a good Twitter app for iOS where I can make it only show a notification from him and not anyone else?

QUOTE=NeOak;244165158]Gonna add that

welp, meant DE[/QUOTE]

Ha, DE makes more sense. Amazon GB would just be Amazon UK but without Northern Ireland lol

Got mine from Very.co.uk after days and struggling with Game and Tesco (Amazon went while I was at work and never opened again).

Is it weird that I kind of want one of the hideous US versions too?

NowInStock alert had me covered before Wario even tweeted it. Was playing Persona 5, dropped the controller and gave the situation my full attention. Got the first order in within 2 minutes of notification, went back and ordered a second for a friend 10 minutes later after confirming he wanted one.

I'm a little surprised how long orders stayed up, but hopefully they didn't oversell their allocation. Or if they did, we'll know about it sooner rather than later.

As for what to play first, I'll check out some Super Mario World to relive that brand new SNES moment I first had back in the '90s. Then it's on to Star Fox.

I use the official Twitter app for this. Go on his profile and enable notifications just for his account. Always get the alert within seconds of a tweet going up.

Also I recommend NowInStock.net, they alerted me first.

Not related to SNES, but I've had a Walmart.com account for over ten years, and a Walmart CC(only usable there) for about the same amount of time. Their system shit the bed this year. Prior to this year I never had a problem, since January, I get orders cancelled constantly. Talking to cs, going through their stupid wait 30 mins and try again so we authorize it, has never worked.

I've spoken with the CC side and multiple departments at Walmart.com with no solution. Always 50/50 chance my orders get cancelled. Never trust that company with orders, stay away if you can.

It's funny that Walmart was the first to go up considering nowinstock sent an alert a couple days ago that lead to nothing. They must have been gearing up for it.

Anyway my fiance and I were able to order a few from Walmart. One for me and a couple as gifts. After last year's disappointment, this is a nice surprise.

My Super Nintendo Classic preorder was made in what seemed like bullet time. The world slowed down as I entered my credit card. Sonehow I preordered with success 😀
