- ‘Vice Principals’: HBO Sets Final-Season Premiere For Back-To-School Time
Ring-ring goes the bell. HBO said today that the second and final season of Vice Principals will premiere just as the new school year kicks in. The angry comedy returns with the first of nine new episodes at 10:30 PM Sunday, September 17.

The show’s sophomore year sees the tumultuous school year at North Jackson High continue, and the new semester brings lots of changes. Gamby (Danny McBride) and Russell (Walton Goggins) are about to learn that the only thing harder than gaining power is holding on to it. Kimberly Hebert Gregory, Georgia King, Busy Phillips, Shea Whigham and Sheaun McKinney co-star.

The Standups is really good, if you like stand up at all go watch that shit.

It's only six 30min episodes so it's a easy watch, first 3 range from fantastic to good, Ep 3 with Deon Cole being my favorite so far (I knew him from Black-ish but didnt know he did stand up).

Really hope this gets renewed because the format is great, and its introducing a lot of unknown (to me at least) comedians.

I don't ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

well that doesnt surprise me since laughter is an emotion connected to joy, which you clearly are unable to experience as proven by your posts the last few months :(

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.
Guilty pleasure and whatnot, but I'm probably the most excited for Penn & Teller: Fool Us next week. I don't have many other Summer shows I'm looking forward to, honestly.

Watching Cheers for the first time, liking a lot of the characters and interactions with one another.

Side note: I feel like Dennis from Always Sunny watches this show and tries to model himself as Sam Malone but in his own sociopathic/psychotic way.

So not worth it

I still really like this show, too. Even after it took a quality dive when it when CW exclusive and they dropped Jonathan Ross.

That Jason Bateman / Laura Linney show is out soon right?

Have not started Season 2 yet but was surprised by Queen of the south last year. Very underrated imo, cast and writing is solid.

Airs in about on a month on Audience network. Umm. Looks kinda cheap. I enjoyed the novel but I can't say I'm the least bit interested in watching this.

First look at Netflix's first Italien original series:
Suburra | Date Announcement | Netflix

I haven't seen the film, but by all accounts it is great. However, Gomorrah (both the film and the TV series) were great (the film was actually brilliant). And this looks to follow in the same vein.

That show was absolutely plastered across Deadline for a bit. I genuinely thought it was like a parody thing at first.

I watched the first episode of Hooten & the Lady. I'm a big fan of adventure stories like this, so it is right up my alley. It definitely has a bit of a Romancing the Stone/Uncharted vibe to it. Really looking forward to the rest of the season.

I also watched the first three episodes of I'm Sorry. I laughed a lot. It can be pretty vulgar. Andrea Savage is really funny in this.

Hmm... Since it's being called an original series and not limited, I wonder if they're doing a book a season? There's a few shots in there that hint that the show can go as dark and disturbing as the book, but I doubt the network it's on will allow it to go that far.

I'll give it a chance. Brendan Gleeson and really liking the book makes me want to give it a chance.

I watched the whole series when it aired in the UK and I thought it was a really fun lightweight show. Hooten is basically 100% Michael Douglas character from Romancing the Stone, and The Lady is Lara Croft (background, not skill set).

The first episode had some troubling content in the depiction of the Amazon tribe, but luckily there wasn't anything like that for the rest of the season.

I disagree with Brockmire being on the list. Really pissed me off watching this show, not only was it really disappointing in how they depicted a female co-star (Young lady sleeping with older retired fella is never not creepy) but she was there as a back up in order for the main guy to do his stuff. The humour was not funny and the setting was terrible.

Casual is up there with the best

Alias Grace | Teaser | Netflix
Another Margaret Atwood adaptation, if it is just half as good as The Handmaid's tale we have the 2nd best show of the year. Adapted by Sarah Polley, so that's good.
(I kind of wonder why it has so many dislikes though, or is it one of those occasions where I don't want to know?)

Well continuing with disliked trailers...
Peter Kosminsky, (writer/director of The Promise, director of Wolf Hall) takes on young British men and women leaving home to join ISIS. The actual show itself looks good, but the shitshow around it is going to be spectacular.

Finally a release date for the wonderful Top Of The Lake season two - China Girl. Will launch on BBC2 27th July.
Nice interview with Jane Campion in todays Guardian.

If you didn't know any better, that press release would make it sound like the second season of Outcast is still in development or production, rather than sitting on a shelf after having already aired elsewhere in the world. So bizarre that they can't or won't even give a release window for it.

I was literally about to post this. They can give us a date for Mike Judge's new series which was just ordered a few months ago and set vague dates for Divorce and High Maintenance, but Outcast? "A second season has been ordered" Yes, and it already aired months ago in Europe...

HBO continues to drop the ball wrt their handling of Cinemax.

Gotta say this was one of the more disappointing summers for new television shows, its been nice though to go back through the backlog and watch stuff I kept meaning to but never had time for.

Also kinda cool/scary/interesting/weird that Netflix is now at the top of my must-watch new shows list, HBO has kinda fallen to near bottom tier, cable stuff has some decent stuff, and network TV is almost completely off my radar except for 3-4 shows now.

Amazon also has thrown out a lot of stuff but hardly anything seems to be sticking, I dunno if they are choosing bad partners or if they are trying to micromanage stuff into mediocrity.

I'm finally working my way through the final season of The Sopranos and it's been a treat. I hope the fall season is just as disappointing because there are still a ton of old shows I want to get to. >:}

I can't believe I'm saying this this, but I've been watching a show on Trutv that isn't impractical Jokers and isn't awful. It's the Andrea Savage Curb Your Enthusiasm style show called I'm Sorry. Has an interesting cast and is legit funny at times. Not perfect but the show is still growing. I keep thinking to myself why is a decent show like this stuck on Trutv. Maybe the network is finally realizing airing decent programing is a major step towards respectability.

Watched the first episode of The Sinner last night. Found the book it was based off of on amazon, so gonna download the kindle version and check it out. Downloaded the sample last night. The first episode followed along well to the book. As always, a lot of info was left out, but a few things make more sense after reading the sample. I think the tv show is gonna be pretty good!
