Super Mario Odyssey trailer (October 27th)

I'm pretty sure it's from the first quest in New Donk City where you gather musicians for Pauline's concert. And the more musicians you get, the more instruments are added to the song.
I got to play the game today at a Nintendo post E3 event in Utrecht. I played New Donk and the desert level, both timed at 10 minutes each. The levels feel massive, there's so much to see and discover. Really feels like king size 64/Sunshine style levels.
Important to note: of course the shape shifting part of the Cappy gameplay gets all the attention, but way more important is that the cap is an extra platform tool. A Nintendo guy doing the presentation beforehand could already pull these off reliably. After a long jump you can use the cap for even more distance. I couldn't pull it off yet in the short time I had, but crazy jumps are possible. He even showed a skip for an entire platform section with one long Cappy jump. Speedrunners are going to have a lot of fun with this game.
I didn't get them to work yet in the limited time I had, but that's something to dive into when the game comes out. Cappy definitely is the extra flavor to the platforming here.
M+R was also playable. Believe it or not, I was maybe more hooked there than in the Odyssey demo. That game is also something special.

Odd that they used the Charge'em Chuck for the football Mario, since IIRC Charge'em Chucks are actually in the game and can be Cap-tured, aren't they? Maybe there's just no footage of it?

Is in-game music more subtle in this game? I've seen a few videos where music is either absent or very subtle.

I'm guessing that has to do with the game being in development, because I noticed it too and it seemed jarring and out of place rather than intentional. I think/hope that most of those silent gameplay sections will have musical accompaniment when the game ships.

I played this game on Thursday at SDCC. One thing I loved is the Mario 3 bonus music is back when you find a secret moon room.

Correct. Metro was bronze, Sand was green, Wooded was blue, Cascade was yellow and this cheep cheep one is pink.

I'm assuming it's not 100% underwater. There's gotta be a beach section, probably some islands and bridges with Cheeps jumping over them at the least.

No I mean, I don't remember where we saw that the Cascade Kingdom moons were yellow. I don't remember any footage of that kingdom outside of the trailer to begin with.

As usual though, everyone overreacted. Nintendo wasn't about to show every kingdom at E3.
I'd wager there's at least 10 kingdoms.

Hmmm how many distinct moon colors can they use? We have bronze, blue, green, yellow and now pink. I'm gonna guess white or black for the Cap Kingdom, maybe red for the Mushroom Kingdom. They can also use teal/cyan, orange, purple, maybe brown?
That gives me 12 distinct enough colors I can think of. There are probably more, this wasn't the most scientific exercise haha

This is a different Kingdom then the dinosaur/waterfall one, since we've seen the Moons there and they are yellow. I'm not sure if we know the official name of either of these kingdoms though.

I see. I misread the Cascade Kingdom part. I do find it funny some are surprised there are more kingdoms. I think someone broke down the map and you can see spots not labeled included what looks like Mushroom Kingdom. I'm hoping we get to go there and play the first level from Mario 64.
What's even more funny is people we're scared there was only FOUR Kingdoms after the January trailer and like "what?? Why would there be only four kingdoms. Nintendo never shows everything". It doesn't help Andre from Gamexplain was speculating there could only be four kingdoms. It annoyed me because someone like him should know Nintendo and they don't show everything in a first trailer.
