So I'm doing the buddy missions, but how can I get rid of the "await for more news from Peebee/any character" status?
I tried to do other missions, some eventually unlocked, other stay locked, since I only want to do teammates missions, I don't wanna really go around doing some random stuff just to make the next segment of a mission.

You pretty much hafta do story missions and allied missions to advance that stuff. Like... on a consistent basis.

ALL of them? Lol

Yeah, I finished the story without doing a single side and now I'm doing buddy missions (I want avoid filler content, and some of those buddy sides are really fillers already), but I'm stuck with a bunch of "waiting for" quest log entries and I don't know how to take care of them.

I wish I knew how to help, but I usually always do loyalty quests as soon as I get them, so there is plenty of main/side quests to do if I'm stuck on a "wait for more news" part to unlock it later. I thought they were mostly locked by the main quests though, so I'm surprised you can't progress if you're already at the end.

Have you tried simply leaving the Tempest and going to something like the Nexus and coming back to your ship after that?

Yup, no luck.

Is it possible to still have a good experience by just doing Main Missions and Loyalty quests?

I want to avoid as much bloat and copy paste quests as possible.

This is probably the best way to play the game. Do all loyalty related stuff as soon as it becomes available and push the main plot ahead whenever loyalty stuff is stalled.

Many of the non-loyalty "allies and relationships" quests are good too. The "heleus assignments" category is a complete mixed bag.

On PC, they're probably unnecessary, but on the consoles, they probably need all that time to load things in.

Also, here's a ton of mods to reduce headaches:
Bullet Drop Removed
Faster Kadara Doors
Nomad Top Speed Increase (Now it peaks at 200 km/h)

Here's an FOV mod that's probably super YMMV.

I cannot fathom why the takeoff/landing animations and Kadara doors haven't been addressed by patches.

One mod I would love to see is adding Citadel music onto the Nexus. I hate how there is no music in there. Not sure how easy that would be though.

Is there music in the whole game?

I seriously cannot think of a single track. It's the most forgettable music ever, which is heartbreaking after the trilogy had such great music.

Yeah... the volume is either too low, or the frequency too rare. What we hear is decent enough(though nowhere near the trilogy) from what I remember, but considering both things I mention, it's making it way too forgettable.

Edit : That shorter loading animation mod is a life saver. So is the one that make SAM shut up.

That'll have to wait until the next version of Frosty Tool Suite. Audio exporting and importing isn't currently supported.

Finally had some spare time to start playing this. I'm just a few hours in (Just left Eos), but I feel pretty overwhelmed already with all the different weapons, augmentations, research/development stuff and whatnot. Gonna use a guide, I guess.

Just finished the main story. Tad short, plus you were stuck with whacky animations and a contrived story about alien technology but overall I had a lot of fun, the shooting mechanics were pretty good, the pace kept up and on max settings at 3440x1440 it's unquestionably one of the best-looking games I've ever played. Saved a lot of great screenshots that I bet will hold up when I look at them in however-many years from now.

I'll be pursuing some more of the side quests, for sure.

Update details

http://blog.bioware.com/2017/07/31/mass-effect-andromeda-patch-1-10/

-Veteran ranks of characters will only drop after all characters of that rarity have been unlocked to rank 10.

-Naladen explosion now deals damage when Cryo or Incendiary Ammo are equipped.

-Fixed issue where Dwindling Supplies and Empty Resupply mission modifiers would not function correctly if a player left the game.

-Dhan shotgun now properly primes enemies.

-Fixed issue where Bulwark, Siphon, and Concussive variants of pistols and sniper rifles would prime enemies too slowly when using special ammo.

-Fixed issue where using Supply Pack Transmitter would reduce spare ammo if Empty Resupply mission modifier was active.

-Using First Aid with Supply Pack Transmitter no longer heals enemies.

-Fixed issue that caused screen to blink red/yellow when using Siphon and Bulwark weapons.

-Rank XIV Common Characters are no longer displayed as Rank XV

Tons of research that I didn't use. Focus on gear that caters to your playstyle.

Appears to have sold about 3 million copies in week one in North America alone. Will prob do well enough for a sequel.

They wanted it to sell way more (I believe in the neighborhood of 5 million in the initial period). I also fail to see where in your link the 3 million figure is arrived to as more than a guess.

It didn't do well enough to even justify planned SP DLC.

The studio that made it has been killed and absorbed by another studio.

It is an indisputable fact that the game was a massive disappointment, and will never see a direct sequel. It's going to live as a black mark against Bioware's name, and you're going to see a lot of stories about how can Bioware recover from Andromeda in the leadup to Anthem's release.

Yup, no luck.

Planet viability and talk with those characters.

Yeah, it's annoying. To be fair, its best to concentrate in constructing a build and keep updating it. You stop caring too much about other stuff. On the other hand, when the build is too good it becomes a very easy game. Shotguns and kinetic coil and weapon damage+ armor with the right powers made Insanity easier than Normal lol.

Replaying the game a 2nd time, I can't help but feel disappointed in the outposts you establish.

Other than the one in Eos, they offer nothing but a bunch of empty buildings, a few npcs to talk to and maybe one quest to kill the planet's Architect. They really wasted a good opportunity on creating them as actual outposts with vendors, research center, AVP/Strike teams management and you know...NPCs that gives quests.

This Forbes article mentions that Mass Effect: Andromeda was mentioned in EA's latest financial report, Forbes even argues that Anthem should've been the next Mass Effect game and not Andromeda: https://www.forbes.com/sites/insert...venue-driver-but-no-word-on-dlc/#5c52efb24b22

But so far, it’s seemed like outside of mixed critical reception, EA hasn’t been thrilled with Andromeda’s sales performance. A sequel, and really Mass Effect as a whole, seems like it’s been put on hold indefinitely after Andromeda. And right now it looks extremely unlikely that Andromeda will even get its strongly-hinted-at single player DLC, which is almost unfathomable for a game like this. So EA is clearly disappointed, right?

Not so, according to their latest financial report. EA reported strong earnings, and repeatedly cited Mass Effect Andromeda as a solid revenue driver. From CFO Blake Jorgensen:

"Year-on-year growth was driven by the Mass Effect Andromeda sales, captured in the quarter and by FIFA,” Jorgensen said. “Digital net sales were $681 million, a new record for the first quarter, and up $113 million on the year-ago period. The increase reflects strength in live services, together with our mobile business. In addition, Mass Effect Andromeda was a significant contributor. Full game PC and console downloads generated net sales of $111 million, 32% higher than last year. This was driven by Mass Effect Andromeda sales captured in the quarter.”

That’s three separate citations of Mass Effect Andromeda helping EA do well in the quarter, which is the first time I can remember that EA has been publicly singing the game’s praises. The assumption was that with a sequel and even DLC axed, that EA has been displeased with Andromeda overall, but that’s certainly not what we’re hearing here.

Before this earnings report, the icing of Mass Effect sort of made sense. If the game was a miserable financial failure, it didn’t make sense to throw more good money after bad. But if EA really was bolstered by Andromeda’s performance, I don’t really understand why the game wouldn’t at least see one or two rounds of DLC, even if a sequel was a tougher prospect.

What we’re not seeing here are exact numbers for Andromeda itself, only notes that it was a “significant contributor.” I suppose that means that even with Andromeda being cited (it was essentially the only major EA release of the quarter), a big budget could mean that it’s not quite as rosy as this statement makes it sound. And the game’s development troubles are well-known at this point, so EA is probably in no rush to start that process over again with more content.

I maintain that this isn’t the best idea. That Mass Effect is too valuable and beloved a series to cryogenically freeze for the next X years, if not forever, and that if anything, Anthem itself should have been the next Mass Effect game. But I suppose I could have said that about Bungie ditching Halo for Destiny, and that seems to be working out for them. At some point, you want to do something new, and it seems pretty clear that’s where BioWare is at these days.

It should have received some DLC even if the game was a failure sales-wise, and they should have made sure it was really good to leave players with good feelings and some optimism for the future. I hope EA wanting to save a bit of money won't come at the expense of the future health of the franchise. Or maybe they truly intend to kill it and that's why they didn't bother.

I'm a bit annoyed if we don't even get one single SP DLC. Mass Effect is known for its excellent DLCs dammit. Now we're left with never knowing if the Quarian Ark made it or not, or who this Benefactor is.

Agreed. Even if it failed worse than the statement above seems to imply, they should have done a "send-off" type single player DLC at least. Keep it tightly focused (no open world bloat), and tie up the Benefactor/Garson and Quarian Ark loose ends. Yes it would cost them some money to do that, but there are several benefits:

-Revenue from DLC sales from the dedicated fans.
-Somewhat increase any long tail sales of the base game by keeping fans engaged longer, and keeping the game 'in the conversation' for longer.
-Good will from fans of the Mass Effect series to leave a better taste in fans' mouths than the messy launch, in case the franchise is brought back down the line
-Good will from fans toward Bioware in general (whether or not Mass Effect is ever seen again in any form).

But now that it seems like that 99.99% isn't happening, I'm hoping that book that was supposed to release this summer is being retooled as a vehicle to tie up all the loose ends, and that it actually sees a release. (But more likely it's sitting on a shelf somewhere with the publisher, totally completed, in whatever original form it was going to take, never to see the light of day.)

They could have done more, but I guess thats what we've been saying. I'd settle for a book or short story where we learn what happened to the quarians though

I believe that a proper DLC (or better a Lair of the Shadow Broker one) could save and elevate the game and the franchise if handled by capable hands. It will show respect to the ME fans for starters.

But this seems not to be the EA way of things.

There are several huge errors in the analysis.

The NPD report specifically says it sold less than Zelda, which sold 900,000 on switch in NA. Nintendo has since said that 3.84 million copies were sold by end of april worldwide, with 1 million of those on wiiU (again, worldwide). So probably 400,000 wiiu in march for NA, totaling 1.3 million total zelda in March for US.

However NPD did not track digital sales of Zelda, so perhaps like 1.1 million physical in March (as 900,000 figure was already physical).

npd march

The analysis also says Horizon sold 2.6 million, but Sony is very clear this includes digital sales. But on the NPD chart, it is very clear HZD digital sales are not included (while Mass Effect Andromedas are!)

Plus HZD must have sold less than Zelda, and Zelda AT MOST sold 2 million in March as April LTD is 1 million on WiiU worldwide and Nintendo reported 900,000 on switch. So you know right off the bat that there is no way that MEA sold 3 million in NA.

Now Europe sales might help somewhat, but with less than 1.1 million estimate for March NA, my guess is something like 1.7 worldwide tops, unless EU is a bigger ME region than I thought.

Edit: the 2.6 million HZD number they base much of the analysis is worldwide. NPD only tracks NA (or maybe just US). Yet another huge error.

Edit2: One error on my part -- even though NPD release says it includes digital, this does not include digital sales on EA Origin. But another source suggests that it sold less than 400k digital on EA Origin, so I don't think this changes the entire story.

Had a funny glitch recently on Eladeen where I accidently fell to my "death" while being in the vault, and when I came back, I was in the Nomad, while still being inside the vault. I could have drive with it if i wanted to lol.

Following up on the merger, it sounds like there is nobody in Montreal working on MEA anymore. In response to a person asking the lead designer of MEA about the possibility of a XBox One X patch, Frazier (now at Motive) replied:

Definitely sounds to me like Edmonton has taken on all the responsibilities for forthcoming patches.

As if they'll waste their time with this. The game is in a good enough stable state as it is right now(and what really need to be fixed like quests structure can't be fixed with a simple patch) + they have their hands full with developing Anthem.

Maybe we'll get some minor bug fixes at best, but I don't expect anything more than that.

Either ME:A is harder than ME 1-3 of I straight up suck at that game or have chitty armor. Never had a problem with difficulty in 1-3 on Normal/Hard but in ME:A I find myself constantly dying for some reason.

I'm doing some of the side stuff on EOS and of the side missions has you fighting that one huge flying monster with 3 legs in which you attack the legs and it opens a spot on it's head to attack. It's attacks literally kill me in like 2-3x hits. Do you have to be really patient in this game or am I severely under-leveled and have crappy armor? I'm only lvl 13 at the moment.

That's an Architect, which are designed to be some of the most difficult encounters in the game. You sound underleveled for taking them on, I think.

What loadout are you using?

For other tips, in the first phase you should be literally right next to a Refill Station, so I'd take cover, be patient and when you get hit, run over and you'll refill your health and ammo.

I think you just need more lvls before attacking your first Architect. They're the strongest/hardest bosses of the game after all, and sometimes, weather doesn't help either.

My main tip would be to keep hovering and dodging whenever you see it launching an attack. Don't waste time staying in one place too long or trying to find cover, i find that cover rarely help against them since they don't actually shoot bullets at you like regular enemies.
