The Shibata thing is so unfortunate. He was so fun to watch sans headbutts.

I haven't watched a Shibata match since his injury. I suspect I won't have the stomach for it knowing what happens to him.

Real talk, even with the brightest minds I don't how sustainable that would be when you have to provide 7 hours of live wrestling a week and almost two ppv's a month.

I could've sworn somewhere I read that they have like 24 writers on staff. I don't see how wrestling is that hard to write for either. You're not writing a novel every week, it's fucking fake sports. You look at the roster, figuring out which guys you want to feature, then you figure out where you want that person to be in 6 months time and you figure out how to get there.

What were you offering?
I was actually in shock. It was the first and so far only wrestling event I've been to.

Sat next to somebody screaming and chanting for Benoit in a Cena shirt.

I'm really thankful I was there to see that Baylay vs Sasha match.

Man that was a fucking great match live and I can't see any women's program or match exceeding it unless management changes.

Halfway through Day 1 of SSS 16.

Is Jimmy Havoc good? Haven't seen much of him, but I wasn't super impressed with him here. Heard a lot about him though. Liked Travis Banks in their match though.

He is better at death matches or when he has liberty to go extreme, but when he wants he can be a decent technical wrestler.

It's been almost two years since that match. Dang. Best women's match in WWE history, easily.

Oh man, this was when the main WWE audience still hated Daniel Bryan, good times.

But for actual heel reasons.

Hindsight kind of makes you laugh at the reaction to the Brian Danielson signing. "But will he have the personality to make it in WWE?!?" Shit, dude can't wrestle anymore and he still has more persoinality than the rest of the roster.

An entire arena with tears in their eyes.

I always tell people pro wrestling is like a drug. Most of the shit is poor in quality and the people providing it to you are some of the most repugnant out there but it can hit a spot no other form of Sport or Entertainment can hit.

It's why youh always see fans complain when shit is bad especially with a company like WWE where they know they can do better but choose not to.

Yep, his run as a heel before "18 seconds" is still my favorite stuff he did.

Still believe that he only got the push he did because of CM Punk and not because "It was his time." but goddamn did he make the most of that opportunity. Something folks cannot do.

Dude was more entertaining in a 2.5 minute Tout video than the rest of the roster has been on the televised product in years

So you know how Ultimate Warrior supposedly never drew a dime?

I'm watching the 1991 Royal Rumble and the crowd loves the guy and chants "BULLSHIT!" when Sgt. Slaughter wins.

Also, Hulk totally botched the promo before the Ramble.

Ahaha, my workplace did an "unconference" where it's basically a keynote speech, then a bunch of splinter sessions where you talk in a group about something specific for 45 minutes to "break down barriers" and all that corporate stuff.

I'm in the brand promotion video that hasn't been publically published yet but will be at some point, articulating something within the group I'm in with the Kevin Owens retro t-shirt. They said it was casual wear, I didn't think I would be filmed.

Ibushi on G1

So I’m really happy to wrestle Tanahashi there, after, if I’m honest, he seemed down for much of last year.’

— Meaning..?

Ibushi ‘Well, everyone goes through down periods, but he feels less like the focus. I think if you look at Osaka Jo, everyone was singing the praises of Kenny and Okada, but I think Tanahashi and Naito was the better match. First time in a long time, that match made me think, “yep, Tanahashi is a god”.’

–We spoke before about how demanding the G1 schedule is. Is it especially taxing to have all these singles matches in the middle of summer?

Ibushi ‘I really haven’t had a run of singles matches this long outside of the G1. It’s a case f breathing deep and going “here we go again”.’

–When you were talking with New Japan, was the possibility of being in the G1 something that made you hesitate?

Ibushi ‘No, and I think that’s because of how much I’ve grown deep down. My attitude to that kind of thing has really changed.’

–It was the right offer at the right time that mattered?

Ibushi ‘In a lot of ways, the offer was much more advantageous to me than anyone else involved’

— In the past you admitted that the G1 was hard for you, but that’s changed?

Ibushi ‘Yes. It’s absolutely changed.’

–When your return was announced, Tanahashi said you’d “grown up”.

Ibushi ‘Hmmm. I want to be the Ibushi Tanahashi thinks I’ve become. Show him how much I’ve changed.’

–Of course, you’re aiming to win your block and advance to the finals- who would you like to face?

Ibushi ‘I think obviously Kenny and Okada are the favourites in block B. That said, I do have my doubts over whether this is the right time to face Kenny, but then maybe facing Kenny in the finals and winning is a once time kind of opportunity.’

— You have your doubts?

Ibushi ‘It’s very complicated, and I have a lot of conflicting emotions about it. But ultimately I think it’s not the right time right now. I’m more interested in getting my singles match revenge against Okada.. or maybe Michael Elgin’

He thought Tana/Naito was the better match at Dominion. Feels he's matured and the current NJPW deal is advantagous to him. Doesn't think the G1 Final is best for a match against Kenny.
