If anything, it just shows that DQ is still relevant. Luckily, the game seems to be getting loads of praise so hopefully it will be leggy too.
Nah the last big JRPG in Japan sold a bit only on name... no quality at all.

If it was a good game then cross 1-2 million won't be a issue.

Famitsu has Switch at 105.697

Nintendo published DQVI-VIII remakes and DQ IX on DS/3DS in America.

I know at least that much about NoA, however I remember reading that Nintendo and SE did it cooperatively and split the costs of translation, and Nintendo did the advertising and publishing. I imagine SE will hold back on announcing plans release 11 themselves in America, and get Nintendo to do it, saving SE some money. There are a few 3rd parties here who are really good at working NoA that way.

Edit: If Switch keeps this rate (~90k/week) it will reach 2 million before the 3DS did by 2 weeks.

Everyone having s good time this week

It's strange but true, I love good Sales in Japan. It makes me feel very happy, I don't really know why though.

I guess it's good to see good games and systems doing well in their homeland, gives you hope that the mobile-market won't take away all of our games and that we'll see lots of great Japanese games on our systems in the future :)

Yeah, I hope Nintendo picks DQXI 3DS up to whatever extent SE is unwilling. They did get VII, VIII over quite recently and I imagine that was towards something and they knew about the PS4 version when they did so, so it suggests to me that at some point they were willing to do that with the other version existing.

I just hope it pans out that they do.

Lol. It is funny that you still love to just talk shit about FFXV.

FFXV shipped 5 million. Day one. Japan is pretty irrelevant for the franchise by now.

I think games like resident evil revelations, disney collection, mega man legacy collection were always meant to hit switch but the success of the platform probably got them fast tracked. Now if resident evil 7 or even dragons dogma dark arisen comes to the platform I would be surprised.

so why are they working to adapt the RE Engine to the console and why they aked to increase the ram (and got satisfied by nintendo)?

you know I'm seen as pessimistic about the Switch, so don't read this as a bold statement of sort, by my side, about third party support

They have actually recorded bigger shipments than last week ? How ?
Because Nintendo wanted to gain attention the week of Dragon Quest.

I doubt they'll ship that many this week but it will still be a bigger shipment comparing to last two months' baseline.

I did not expect Nintendo to ship even half that number of Switches. Let's hope they can keep this up, or at least level out at around 45-50k shipped weekly(which I'm sure would have no problem selling).

Amazing numbers for DQX1, especially for PS4, with much less based systems than 3DS. Nice hold for Splatoon 2, which is the real beast in this story, considering the small number of Switches on the market.

Pretty good HW and SW numbers this week. Let's see how far they drop next week (I hope nothing does crater).

Zelda's numbers are not keeping up with Switch stock... 1 million LTD becomes more difficult each week.

Yeah Zelda seems to be having bad legs. Worldwide too is about to be passed by a revamped MK8.

And wow at Switch outselling the PS4 in DQXI week (going by Famitsu). Third party developers should take a hint already.

Since when was not having as good legs as mario fucking kart considered bad legs?

Zelda's legs are better than any other Zelda game so far on console, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt that'll break through 1 mil in Japan before the fiscal year ends

I lost all hope of BotW reaching 1m in Japan, the series does well but it will never be S-Tier like Splatoon, Pokemon, Monster Hunter or Dragon Quest. It's also sad to see the Switch selling 90k Units and BotW declining even more.
I honestly can't imagine it not reaching 1m. We're still only like 4 months into switch even existing and even if botw keeps selling 4k a week and not taking into account holiday bumps, it might take another 2 years, but it'll reach it. Botw isn't going to stop selling a handful every week as long as the switch itself is still actually selling.

And also remember this is all physical only for the most part.

FFXV shipments are 6m and Japan counts for ~1,2m of them. How is it irrelevant?
Ok, it's not really irrelevant. But the way the comment presented it was to make it sound like the game flopped hard compared to DQXI.

Shit game deserves shit ;)
I am just saying it is stupid to associate 'quality' of a game with sales when 'quality' is entirely subjective. Dragon Quest XI has yet to release in the West.

BotW is going to sell for the entire remaining lifetime of the Switch, it will make it to 1 million in Japan and 10 million worldwide by the time it's done. Believe.

Is it realistic for arms to pick up steam or is it just not a game thats going to have good legs?
Depends on the content. The game is due for another stage and character soon and there's not a lot of fighters on be console till Pokken comes out.

That said, being a quirky multiplayer game in the land of Splatoon doesn't do it favors.

I personally want to give it a little bit of time. The current raised shipment weeks coincided with two of the three biggest games of the year, so there could very well be some purchase bandwidth issues (notice that MK8D and BOTW aren't responding to the shipment increases either). If it doesn't move up in the next weeks (assuming we aren't going down to 20-30k again), then we can definitely say it doesn't have very strong legs. I recommend waiting about 3 weeks before giving a negative judgment here.

Switch only or combined SKUs?
Answer is "I think so" to both.
