being there live in audience was crazy
I highly regret not being able to go this year. I'm probably gonna start saving for next year, soon.being there live in audience was crazy
It was. I sat on the floor and it was amazing.
1.7 millionIt hit 2 million? Congrats.
Ah that must have been a great experience to see it live and with that crowd.
In that clip he talked specifically about the haters and why they might watch the game and his statement, if he actually meant the rivalries and the personalities, i think is very possible. You on the other hand are talking about the majority of the spectators. I don't think it is that unfair to compare the validity of those statements given that both of you are making assumptions of something that is possible. If he was talking about the majority of the spectators then i might agree with you..
I think people who actually don't like the gameplay are hardcore fg players mostly and there aren't that many of them.
I like playing Counter Strike but it's a boring game to watch.
Disgusting, absolute trash game.
Can only imagine being a personality tugger to sit through that dry game.
Yup. I was second row from the main stage.being there live in audience was crazy

I also loved to watch SFIV and didn't care to play it that much. I understand that. What I didn't do was watch SFIV all the time and then turn around and call it a bad game.
You rather people not watch it and call it a bad game?
If it makes you feel better I didn't watch it.

A new round-up video from Capcom for EVO. Must say it's pretty well done.

Considering how bad was, and still is, the development/release shedule for Street Fighter V it's incredible...
I guess Capcom stats may be a little "fake" perhaps?

Likely but I feel this isn't exclusive to sfv or even fighting games in general. Sports are the same as well.Seems people prefer to watch it than play it
I don't see the level of play that DBZ might have to be at all comparable though, it'll only have had a few months (if that) of people playing the game.
People have been playing SFV for 1.5 years now.
That character is the weirdest thing.
Such. An. Asshole.
And yet his actor just pulled it off so well that I still found him so entertaining.
.Really? DBZF is made for new players to fighting games like SFV is, yes.. and clearly won't be as complex as Guilty Gear or even some Marvel games, but it will still have opportunities to be more complex than SFV. This is Arc System Works, the game will have tons of mechanics that take years to master.
You can't judge the game on what you've seen so far. It's not too far into completion (new mechanics and harder characters will likely be added. The initial saiyans are the easiest characters supposedly) and the only people playing it are those with day 0 experience of only being able to take turns playing the demo.
I personally think it will be fun but just not in 2018, simply because people will still be getting acclimated to the game and learning the ins and outs.
2019 and beyond though, that shit is gonna be hype. It happens with every fighting game. Even SFV's finals last year were good but not anything great (IMO). This year was fantastic though.

Yeah I think they made up those numbers or like at least put bot accounts on Twitch. Capcom can't get away with this bullshit. I saw how many people hated sfv on GAF so there's no way people were watching this dreck and enjoying it.
Actually, I meant in terms of quality of play, not in terms of how much attention it gets. He's not arguing that DBFZ won't have complex mechanics or longevity, just that it's not likely to replace SF as the main stage game for next year's EVO just being out a few months.

It's a simple fact that the more time people get with the game, even if it's a franchise like Tekken where the core fundamentals don't change that heavily, it still takes a lot of time for players to really get to a proficient level at the game even with the ease in which we can share tech these days. I'd say at least a year.
Which is why I think DBFZ at EVO 2019 is gonna take you for a ride.
No worriesI actually read your post as saying "People will only play this game for a few months and then drop it "
Woops. Sorry. Misunderstood and didn't see that you were referring to Evo 2018.
Welcome to GAF Mike Ross.
Around 500k concurrent viewers with it airing on two channels + Twitch is actually not that much.
No worries
Actually, you said in your original post that the "The initial saiyans are the easiest characters supposedly". Is that actually something that's been said by the devs or is that conjecture?
Name a fighting game that's had more ever in the entire history of people watching fighting games. I'll wait.
