Very strange to showcase a Japanese only title at some french expo...

What is going on here exactly?

Well its not strange at all then. Switch is obviously region free and this expo focuses on Japan stuffs right?

I mean... still pretty tone deaf of Capcom but still

Expect nothing from Capcom on this front. The only way it likely comes over at this point is if Nintendo does it. However it makes no sense at all for them to even bother with Worlds not releasing on the Switch and there being no talk at all of any further Monster Hunter or even Capcom game support for the system. It would truly be a waste of money for Nintendo and and something that only benefits Capcom with nothing in return.

Yeah that's why I dont get why Nintendo would fund it if they arent even getting the new shiny main game. Seems like a waste of time. But what do i know.

I have 9000 yen pre-loaded on my Switch for the Japanese version. It'd be great if they announced the localization, I don't mind double dipping.

Anyone pre-ordering this from Amazon.jp? I'm unsure of whether to buy the boxed version or the download code. Any help would be appreciated, both seem to be similar in price but I'm unsure if a code would cause any problems.

I believe you'd just need a JP eshop account. It's region free, and it's not a special case like DQX for example.
Bonus points for the retail version is being able to resell it later on obviously.

Just, just, just received my switch this morning, bought only in anticipation of this game. Excited to play MH on a TV again. And with proper controller.

Glad to hear about the demo. I ordered a physical version from Amazon JP for collection as well as a download code for instant action. I also have the 3DS version with translation patch so I can always transfer if I need to look up item names or equipment names.
