floating shoulder pads I guess

is it too much to ask that the shoulder pads don't float above his shoulders? For such a high quality model its really weird they decided that was ok. I mean I could understand if they're barely floating above the model, but no those things are very clearly hovering far above him and it looks terrible

Of course it's not too much, but these days focus is probably somewhere else. I mean - all those new tints for old skins are not gonna paint themselves...

Did fend always have this bug where it cancelled or is that a new thing

There's a bug in this patch which is affecting any ability that rushes you to a point on another character - Fend, Dash, Shadow Charge, all are affected by it and it makes them go weird sometimes.

Hm, not necessarily related to the bug but i always thought fend should be a dash instead of point and click. Tho i guess they dont want it available as an escape

But yeah last night was prob the first time i can remember getting screwed over by a bug, missed 3 kills because of it 😴

The best thing about it being point and click is that she can do the wacky varian charge around walls and stuff

Also geez surge of light is overtuned

I'm fine with all the recolors, as the new skins are still coming at a decent pace and are really incredible. I do wish the recolor bundles weren't stupidly overpriced

And that when new skins are sold they include all the tints in the bundle instead of just 1 (which is the usual) or 3.

Pretty sure the bundle on the store now has 3-4 tints per new skin. Excludes a few recolors though. Also it's like $30 something.

I definitely spend less money since 2.0. Way less.

Yeah, I've only bought some gems to get the star horse, where before I was buying stuff in quite regular basis. I wonder how do they even make money now, are there rich gambling addicts buying lootchests in bulk or what.

Yep, that's how these games make money unfortunately

Bundles, there is a reason why you dont get all colors per bundle

This bundle of Garrosh's skin and mount does, yes, but even then it still excluded two tints of each. why Blizz? The summer one was just one tint of each, though, and there were like 8 tints of each on top of that which was ridiculous.

Same. I bought a good chunk of gems when it dropped and I still haven't even spent half of them. It's just not worth it for some of the stuff, and then the stuff I'd love to have spent gems on -- the cloud face mounts, for example -- I can't.

Someone was asking about having 2.4k shards to spend on a Li-Ming skin tint....I had fucking 12k shards and thanks to shit like the cloud mount and summer skins/mounts not being properly offered in the shop I blew through more than half of that in basically a three week span. Considering most players are probably lucky to ever get 1.6k shards for the base cost legendary and not spend it, it's pretty depressing. I was just lucky I got almost the max rewards when 2.0 dropped + had a shitton of gold to reroll for maximum shard value.

I had 4k+ shards and spent them on small things occassionally. Only legendary skin I bought was the purple leo skin and couple weeks ago I bought a happy cloud so now I'm down to just 1k shards.

Highly recommend watching the dota tournament that's on right now if you have any interest in a really strategic and team-based moba

Watching the games not end after 3 fights in favor of one team makes me appreciate hots a lot, that and how long the games go.

They also got a stream going for ppl who are new twitch.tv/dota2ti_newcomer

Oh hey all the nvt ppl sans tomster have removed nvt from their twitter names, dissolvement incoming?

The actual nvt account has also deleted all their tweets?

Flash from fgc who they sponsored also removed it, im guessing the org is just done, either that or they are rebranding

Who do they replace them with & how does that work? I'd be glad to see a fresh roster join again, new players and a new team does a lot for reinvigorating HGC and the open division too.

It will be after the Crucible, no? They can't just disband in the middle of the season without penalties and fees I would think

If it's financial issues i feel like nvt will sell off their slot (think it is only possible post-crucible tho) and the team will become free agents, but im not entirely clear on who owns the slot. Like would r20 own the slot or glauteam? Since they got sponsored after the fact

Honestly? Fuck 'em. The org was classless and ran by a child. The players were stuck in past glory for the modus operandi. The scene can only get better if they get out and let someone in who actually wants to progress.

They're basically what you're gonna get in hots i think, i cant see the orgs with better internal organization and esports money coming through on na sponsorship, there just aren't good reasons atm. Nepotistic startups are prob more likely to participate than cloud9 and co. But maybe the cheer $s will help entice?

We've seen good ones recently in EU. R20 in NA. I mean the fucking baseline is basically don't insult the playerbase or QQ on Twitter. Also don't have a PR guy who insults anyone who questions the organization. It's not hard, even if it's babbies first job.

If your players wanna be assholes that's one thing. But the org itself should definitely not be behaving like an 18 year old fresh out of prom.

No doubt. Look at Vainglory. Viewership on it is about 1/10th of HOTS and that's for major tourneys, and I'm sure the playerbase isn't close either. But TSM, C9, Fnatic, SK Gaming, Tempo Storm, Immortals etc are all up in there. Here's the list of teams in the current league standings in EU and NA: http://vaingloryesports.com/

I'm sure the investment level is lesser, but I can't imagine the ROI for that is near what it is in HOTS. Just like HOTS isn't near what League or Dota is.

Yeah but im saying na isnt fielding the visible teams, like the most recognizable is fledgling tempo storm and they still place low every intl. R20 is a dungeons and dragons app (i think?) that invested in glauteam as a passion project i believe.

For vainglory id imagine it's investment value for sure (dunno how many ppl play the game but it's mobile so it's prob higher than i think), since ostensibly the wage will be lower and there are fewer players to pay.

I totally thought hgc would spur investment, i mean it's a weekly tournament! But something about the deal is sour for orgs, i dunno what

Roll 20 is realer than most esports orgs because of that though, they actually have a product.

Like most of these orgs are actually hot air that sell their brand to PC manufacturers and such.

Blizzard said they don't believe there will be a single unsponsored team next season, so more orgs must be coming.

And I think Garrosh will be popular eventually after a massive round of buffs come his way shortly. I'm pretty shocked how low his win rate is.

I really struggle to see how most of them make any money unless they are mega popular like TSM in NA or what have you. Even a cut from the winnings of events doesn't really seem like it'd recompense the investment to get to said events, not even including if they have to pay for the travel and whatever else.

I mean yeah that's the point of them and why being on the c9 brand is immensely more valuable than being on r20 brand; they know how to build teams, provide infrastructure and bootcamps, like a whole slew of stuff they've learned since they started, whereas r20 is probably more of a "here have some money, we trust you" org like nvt was.

Dig for example has been holding interviews for a coach, and all major LoL orgs have coaches, life coaches, analysts, etc. The top eu teams are getting supported by their orgs (and ofc all this costs), but i dont think the na teams atm can justify the cost.

Im speaking out of my ass but i always assumed a relationship where placing higher has a positive effect on sponsorships, both in terms of willingness to sponsor and financial reward. Like i bet twitch provides different money to nvt vs. tsm, but i dont really have anything to back that up.

Like to me the whole marketing value of "o shit the numba 1 player uses this type of mouse" is pretty thin but what the fuck do i know. If it's an actual real thing though id def pay out more to be part of the #1 team than nvt

Yeah with stuff like cheering and other oppurtunities to make $ i find it hard to rationalize how empty na is w/r/t sponsorship, this can only mean that more incentives are in the pipeline

Would love to know how much capital dude put forth for NVT and the salaries. Always felt like he just did it on a whim cause he liked HOTS and then at some point decided he didn't like HOTS so much but stuck it out for a while.

Hots was their first team on that brand and the deal was negotiated by ppl who have seen esports contracts in the past so im guessing it wasnt chump change at least.

Nvt actually grew pretty decently from nothing; they got sponsorships pretty quickly, got zuna his bud light deal, developed and shipped products, and was pretty much run by kids on an ever rotating staff. Id say they probably just fired/lost their experienced personnel and have no idea how to get their money right.

I mean either all that or nvt is just rebranding lol

I feel like major sponsors are taking out their Blizzard frustrations with the Overwatch league on Hots. Like alluded to above, there is no reason for Vainglory to have all the major sponsors, while HOTS has basically only Tempo
