All the stars!!
Just throw them all in there.
Fucking unreal after this tourney structure, night after night with only a couple of breaks to still be able to perform like that and god damn Okada...the man will die before he has an average match.

Even Redshoes is worn out

Ridiculous. That flurry of moves to end the match was incredible. I love the story that Okada is deathly afraid of the OWA so Kenny is just throwing bombs at him because he keeps getting out of it.

Just perfect fucking booking. And you have the storytelling reasoning for a Naito victory where this win took everything out of Omega. But this finals match got me so hyped. Last year's match was so good and they're gonna top that tomorrow.

So where does that rank in the trilogy?

3rd probably. Defo not as good as Dominion, probably not as good as WK (though I'd need to rewatch that as it's not as fresh in my mind).

Probably "just" a 4.75/5* match. Amazing for an end of G1 match.

And kenny has to go out and do it again tomorrow!

Yup. Kenny ain't winning tomorrow, nor should he.

However, I can see them doing a Kenny vs Okada match between now and Tokyo Dome just because he won a match against the champ during G1, which usually results in a title shot.

But then again, so did Evil.

And they probably want to save the 1-1-1 rubber match between Omega and Okada for a biiiiiiiiiiig show.

Who knows!

Missed the middle of the match as my son vomited and I had to clean it up but what I saw looked more fluid than their previous 2 matches. Lot of really well executed moves like Okada's dropkicks and the rock bottom that they put 110% into.

Yeah Naito gets a day rest* in between while Kenny has to go straight into the match

lol at the polar opposite of yesterdays final match where Tana/Naito worked the crowd for 10 minutes before really getting started these lads just murdered each other from bell to bell.

Tomorrow gonna be insane.

hype as hell for naito/omega tomorrow

2>1>3
They were all amazing, but this one was the most exhilarating IMO, maybe because of the time limit. It just felt like 30 mins of non-stop ass-kicking athleticism. So good!

(Or 25 mins or whatever it ended up being, heh.)

Omega/Ibushi is the other logical matchup for Omega, but do we know for sure if Ibushi is sticking around yet?

Just to let you know, I expect a full breakdown of your G1 experience on the next 8-4 Play :)

It's kind of hard to top a 6.25* match, lmao

but this was killer, absolutely what needed to happen. Omega couldn't beat Okada in 60 minutes before, and not only did he only have 30 minutes, but he HAD to beat him to make the finals. He went balls to the wall and he won, amazing

Me I'd go 2>1=3

Nothing can beat 2 but this was like 1 if you took out any pauses and lower spots.

This one justified early near falks. The stakes were a fantastic tool.

I liked the slow build of 1. By the end I was amped up to hell.

This one told a different story, Okada's neck getting steadily worse and then getting absolutely obliterated by Suzuki, Omega being desperate to win and having to come up with a way to do in 30 what he couldn't do in 60, and I appreciated and enjoyed it all but I still think the way the match built in 1 trumps 3.

Incredible series of matches.

So who is Okada going to face at King of Pro Wrestling in October for the title?
EVIL most likely. Kenny will probably have to defend the US against one of Juice/Elgin if pinning someone in the G1 still earns you a title shot.

I’m guessing these defenses, plus whatever the plans are for WK (Okada/Naito & Omega/Ibushi) keep these two apart for quite some time.

Who knows!

The problem is that if the wrestler currently holds a title like Kenny does with the US, they would have to take the belt off of him before he chases Okada, Kenny does have defenses coming up against Juice and Elgin most likely, so there's a couple of chances right there. Not to mention the rumored Ibushi match for WK12.

I would say we don't see Okada Omega 4 until next year's USA show, rumor is New Japan wants to do that in a much bigger arena.

That was going to happen due to the time limit constraints. It's an easy 5*, but never reached the heights of the other two matches, which just felt absolutely epic.

On the flip side however, Omega and Naito had a 5 star match last year WITH a 30 minute time limit. Tomorrow they will have none.

Id say that would make the most sense. 4 times in one year would be too much.

They could play if off as a slightly tainted win for Omega then he wants to defer his title chance until Okada is back to 100%.
Itll be interesting if, assuming Naito goes on to win tomorrow and at WK, would Omega challenge him? It kind of feels like Omega has to win the belt off Okada at this point.

Outside of tournaments New Japan likes to keep their three heel factions separate. I'm hoping that changes next year though and we see more intermingling between BC/LIJ/SZKG. Especially with the growing possibility of a BC/Elite split.

this match was incredible but i really really love the slower buildups in WK and Dominion. kinda wonder how they're gonna top thing for round 4 in 2018+

So I just watched Day 18 andAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH THAT FUCKING MATCH OHM Y GOD

OMEGA AND OKADA DA GAWDS, LONG MAY THEY REIGN.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Okada's dropkicks are a thing of beauty. Those drop kicks when Kenny was running to get a Knee, just magnifico *kisses fingertips*
