We already got Jecht out of it and I'm pretty sure I see the partial outlines of Ultimecia, Cloud of Darkness, and Golbez.

After Street Fighter V got away with their "Character Pass" being marketed as a Season Pass, it seems like Square Enix figured they could just cut the pretense since gamers are idiots and will pay for anything, so why not just further dilute the meaning of the phrase "season pass".

Is the steelbook and all its variations the only launch edition? With that top cover being a slipon? Not seeing anything about a standard case edition.

I think it is the only $60 physical edition being sold, yes with no physical standard case edition.

That boxart is hideous.

Having said that I am super stoked for this. Hope they add some new characters aside from the ones coming back from Duodecim.

Regarding story mode there is something like it it seems:

" Dissidia Final Fantasy NT story set after the PSP games "

" The PlayStation 4 version will incorporate the world view and story of the arcade version."

I don't like the sound of this TBH.

They implied before that post release characters would be free. Now they're charging... and clearly there will be a second season pass after this one. Also with that release date there's no way all the vets are back for the base roster... which means we're probably paying extra to primarily get back veteran characters.

Really unhappy.

Also the PS+ membership required for online... you've gotta be kidding me.

Hearing there's at least 6 characters coming in DLC makes me want to just wait to see if an eventual complete edition comes out. I'm also gonna wait to see how this game handles its story since there is no story mode.

What game doesn't require ps + for online that isn't a mmo or f2p?

Since we know there would be a season pass for 6 characters, I guess it might take the team four more years until they finally meet their goal, since they want to hit 50 characters roster. Also it may only take a season to get last 6 veterans character but I think they would spread it over two seasons.

So are those random steelbooks only if you pre-order in a store? Do you not get one if you pre-order the Ultimate Edition?

No you only get the Warrior of Light one.

I'm betting that the back with either have the logo or it will have Garland.
