Jurassic World Evolution announced, Summer 2018, PC/XB1/PS4 (Frontier)

I hope Frontier makes the simulation stuff as fun as the sandbox. I could see myself dumping soooo many hours into this if it's got good campaign/scenario support.

Seeing Frontier Inc working on this game kinda give me the hope but I wouldn't get my expectation high until I see gameplay video first. I should be in for the ride.

It made me happy to see the resurgence of builder genre for console such as Cities Skylines, MARS, and Jurassic World Evolution.

I feel the start of a dinosaur resurgence. Hype!

I also kickstarted Dinosaur Island (board game), which is pretty much Jurassic Park the board game, so I'm obviously a fan of the theme. :p

Holy shit I've wanted this for so long. And by the Planet Coaster guys too. This has serious potential.

Knowing games these days it will probably be dumbed down version for JP3:OG. I hope not. I hope there is a complicated DNA system to research lot of dinosaurs.

I'm excited for this now, but I'm still awaiting a digital version of Operation Genesis. I can't believe it still isn't available on Steam or GOG.

It was developed by a now defunct developer and published by Konami and Universal Interactive.

Safe to say there's a lot of licensing bullshit preventing that from happening.

What also sucks is that the PC version had a certain kind of DRM that Windows 10 freaks out at, so you can't run it on Win 10.

Had to play it on an old laptop when I went back and finally 100%ed the game recently.

I'm excited for this as Operation Gensis was a great game, and out of all the devs i can think of Frontier are one of the better choices for a Tycoon game, but at the same time it being Frontier that is making it sort of lowers my expectations because of Planet Coaster.

Planet coaster is a great game. The sandbox gameplay and building system are both great...but i think that's where the good things about it end, pretty much. The fairly low amount of rides along with how they did the themes (e.g. being limited to specific rides), the lack of things like water physics, the management options being pretty much an afterthought etc are all problems with it that make it a bit hard to be much beyond a sandbox construction game, i think. This is a game that sounds like it'll be fairly heavily reliant on management gameplay, which was the main thing Planet Coaster did not do well from what I've seen.

If this removes all the limitations of Operation Genesis (primarily no. of dinos able to research per park) we're good. PC will probably get to mod it out and add tons of new species, but I'm talking console edition.

Wonder if Frontier will port Planet Coaster to console too after this.

I'm going open my park and give control of all security systems to the shady asshole who's only hear to get paid.

This is a really cool idea. I wonder if Frontier is planning on supporting two theme park games simultaneously.

The XBOX one launch game? It was OK. Very neutered from the original Zoo Tycoon games on PC.

It wa shorrible. nothing liek the Tycoon sim that the previous games were.

Incredibly shallow, mostly kinect driven... eh, drivel.

I'm still mad, I LOVED the old zoo tycoon games so much.

I mean, I'm excited to be getting a Jurassic console game, but I'm not gonna lie, it being a park builder definitely dropped my excitement a little.

Glad folks are saying it should be good though.

I'm serious, the old Zoo Tycoon dinosaur expansions were so incredibly dope, those but with modern presentation would be mindblowing.

Yeah the one thing I didn't like about Genesis was the weird limitation on materials and Dinos.

Fortunately you could .INI edit all of that on the PC version.
