Day 1 for me since I played the crap out of operation genesis.

What's the chances that this upcoming game will kill the resale value of Operation Genesis? OG is a super rare game.

I have PC version as well the Xbox version, both in complete edition.

Never played a game like this. Once you build what else is there to do?
If it's going to be like Operation Genesis you manage your park ala Roller Coaster/Zoo Tycoon; fulfill your guests' and dinosaurs' needs, make sure the carnivores don't break out and kill everyone, etc.

Yet another Kickstarter hopeful that may have bitten off more than it can chew. They have no firm release date anymore and their last update says they'll include "Jeeps" while seemingly failing to understand that Jeep is a brand name, so they better start calling them Geeps or something dumb like that.

Amateur hour, as expected.

Mesozoica was always trash. Prehistoric Kingdom on the other hand is good. They just released their pre-alpha demo over the weekend on Steam. The people making Prehistoric Kingdom actually put research into their dinosaurs.

Ive been waiting for this since the original Zoo Tycoon. HELL YEAH. Can't wait to fuck up the security of the pins and watch the carnage.

Would be cool if they offer Jurassic Park era buildings/setting, as opposed to just Jurassic World. Either way I am so pumped they are making this, I loved Operation Genesis.

Even if they don't I'm really hoping that Steam Workshop/ Modding is highly implemented here.

keep the park running (that can mean upgrading your park at anytime new rides/attractions) and make your guests happy.

I wouldn't be surprised if this has a dinosaur battling feature. It surely will allow you to upgrade the dinos, and make hybrids (otherwise why even have evolution in the name?) The whole finding and collecting DNA to breed dinos should be fun as well.

Plus, Operation Genesis did crisis situations really well, and this trailer teased two kinds: breakout and a storm.

Should have lots to do.

Four years, over a decade, my dream game was a Jurassic Park simulator. The GBA game just didn't cut it.

OG was my afternoon killer for a very very long time, both on PC and then Xbox. I would start playing and next thing I know it was time to go to bed. I've wanted a sequel for so fucking long you can't even imagine.

I supported the Mezoica kickstarter for this very reason.

Got I wish this was coming out next month.

It's the Planet Coaster devs. It's going to be good

This gives me so much hope you have no idea.

I have no idea who these guys are. I knew that I would love the game based on the concept alone but knowing that there are apparently very fucking good makes me incredibly incredibly happy.

On one hand, it's based on the shitty movie.

On the other, it is finally a JP theme park sim game sequel.

Now I just need a Jurassic World meets Far Cry game and I'm all set(Not blood dragon but like actual Dinos).

Message from the park administrator.

You knew shit was going bad when you would get a message from Ellie. "What are we gonna do about this?" You knew a dinosaur was dead or diseased. Even the announcer was sad as fuck when she announced that you had a message from Ellie.

God the breakouts were so stressful. LOL. Making sure that my visitors were taken care of. Making sure my herbivores were a fence away from the carnage.

That said the music in OG is fucking brilliant. And that definitely helped out by camping up the tension as much as it would soothe your nerves during a good day.

Aww fuck yes.

I don't care how I get this game, I just need it Day Zero. Plus the hype for JW2, I am all about this

Wait, when did this happen? I still have it complete, and I keep thinking I should reinstall it but then I find there isn't much of a modding community to bring it up to HD standards with the textures

The movie has no impact on whether this will be good or not though. It's not like the actual park they created for world in the movie was bad by any means. I rather see buildings and themes from world over the basic generic fences and buildings Jurassic park gave us... the hate for JW is sometimes too irrational. For a park simulator it makes more sense to reference the movie with the actual established park...

I mean, Operation Genesis had a lot of elements taken from both The Lost World and Jurassic Park III and those aren't exactly the most revered films around. Yet no one had a hard attack there.

Pretty crazy no one actually thought of doing this before? A park builder with dinosaurs?

I mean we got 5 rollercoaster games on Steam in the last couple of years.

People have, though. As mentioned above, there's been projects such as Mesozoica and Prehistoric Kingdom.

What's up with all these new licensed titles outside of Lego and mobile? Are these games doing well again?

Not sure what other games you refer to, but the Jurassic IP in specific is hot again and had always been a decent performer in the past, so it makes sense they're putting out a major title. Especially within a genre that the IP is a perfect match for, with a dev well-known for it. Kind of a no-brainer combination all around.

my OG park functioned better than JW's mess :p

and personally I liked OG's setting - it was a "what if JP1's conflict didn't happen - all went well along the plan and here we are now".

Oh! I played the shit out of Operation Genesis back in the day. To be fair, I never expected a sort of spiritual sequel to it (although I quietly wished for it all that time), so this is great news.
