Rise of the Tomb Raider 4K comparison: Xbox one X vs PS4Pro vs PC

It does look a little bit cleaner than PC to me. Not by any noticeable amount, but it's just nice to see that they're taking time to optimize it for the One X.

Looks like PC and Xbox have better particles that ps4p but I'm not really seeing much difference otherwise.

According to description PC purehair is not turned on, PC is better at 4k 120fps + ultra settings than Xbox One X version
Why did they decide to use the 1080p mode on Pro?
1080p enhanced visual mode has some visual settings turned up, while 4k mode is just the standard game in higher resolution only

4K mode > 1080p enhanced visual mode.

Missing DoF on the Xbox One X version (noticed it in the other thread where I first seen this video).

That PC footage is suspect.

The exact positing is a little different, pottentially a few seconds before or after the alleged PC screen in the video but this screen is taken from the Geforce website showcasing the "Very High" Texture Quality setting

PS4 looks so damn soft because they're using 1080p mode. Would prefer the native res over more effects but that's the power of choice.

Looks like PC >> XB1X >>>> PS4 Pro, especially when considering framerates. Basically it looks like what we all expected.

It is indeed suspect. Not only PS4 Pro and PC footage are blurry af, the PC footage is seemingly using lower settings, which can be proved by searching other videos of the same segments.

Yeah, no doubt, Xbox One X looks best here. Xbox One X > PC > PS4 Pro. Impressive stuff.

Comparisons against PC are so weird to me. It's like trying to compare something hot against fire; you have to acknowledge that fire can be anything from a single lit match up to a supernova. Obviously it's possible to construct a PC more powerful than an XB1X so it's kind of weird to pick an arbitrary spec and say "that one".

It looks like Tomb Raider on X will have 3 modes too, Native 4 K with Pro settings ? 1080p with PC higher assets and Xbox One/PS4 version at 60 FPS ? wait and see...

I would expect and hope the Xbox One version to be the best in some ways but they don't seem to have been consistent with their sources for the different format which mean that this is completely valueless.

It's probably worth waiting for some proper comparisons to appear from people who actually know what they're doing.

PC footage looks to be lower resolution than the Xbox One X footage. That from taking screen caps from my PC and comparing them to the vid. The PC footage is noticeable blurry in comparison.

I agree. As a future XBOX One X owner if I can get results on level with a PC with a 1070 I'm super excited.
Jaguar, frame rate, we get it PCGAF

The PC version isn't running at very high settings with all effects enabled. I'll wait for a proper Digital Foundry or Candyland comparison video to see if the enhancements of the X1X veesion are real or not.

"Better than PC" can also be described as "Lazy PC developer doesn't port over improvements". Crystal Dynamics did the same thing with the last Tomb Raider...

This doesn't... Seem like a totally fair comparison to me. I mean, I'm sure there are going to be lots of great side by sides coming soon -- let's maybe wait for those.
