I'm curious on how much Kamuro AND Sotenbori will be different with Kiwami 2, that's gotta mean some major layout changes.

Please say we get some more tag team moves with Karou, the best written female in the series.

Random question, but does anyone know about the localization team behind Kiwami? And Y6 for that matter.

Zero set the bar really high I think as far as the English translation, hoping they can keep up that level of quality going forward.

Just started playing 0, then I'll be getting Kiwami, and after that is 6.

So my experience with this series 0 - 1 - 6 - 2? Lol thats amazing.

Well this should be interesting, good stuff! Now if they could make a Yakuza collection with 3-5 and both spinoffs remastered... I'd be so happy. I need to play those with the performance they deserve.

Yeah this is what keeps me only reasonably excited. My favorite thing about 0 and Kiwami is that I finally get to play these games at 60fps, and it really makes a difference.

Oh yeah you can definitely feel the love in the games and the people are super proud of what they make. Just pointing out the sad reality that we get in development for these games.

Might just play the remakes of the entire series. Just like pokemon, skip the originals and play the new versions.

Pretty sure Sega set up a team with people from Atlus USA to tackle all Yakuza games, so the localization quality for both Kiwami and 6 should be about the same.

And I agree! It's the best the series has ever had.

i dunno, i kind of would prefer it in the yakuza 0 engine. i mean, i'm planning to play 1-6 in order after loving 0, and having 2 thrown in in a brand new engine seems kinda out of place?

of course, i'm happy to have it. i watched a few vids of yakuza 6 and it looked stunning.

I think Zero was the first one that Atlus helped with.

I actually feel that the translation quality took a bit of hit after Zero, don't get me wrong it's still good (and I'm grateful that Atlus has taken over translation duties), but a bit of a step down past series translation.

Yea, that's the downside, it's the Japanese work culture in the game industry. Super appreciate of the work that goes in to each of the games however.

I just started playing 0 again after being on hiatus since like Feb due to other games (Berseria, Persona 5), and I'm just now getting back into it. Preordered Kiwami too.

If Kiwami 2 ends up being a thing and SEGA ends up making a timely localization for it, hoooly fucking shit I may go through this entire series yet.

That said if this was 'the announcement' that sucks

I wanted something new. The appeal of these games is the story and characters, going through it twice really loses that.

Yeah, i hope that at least they will do that, it would be good to be able to play to the whole serie on one single system.

My play order is all fucked too. Will be
Halfway through the original - Zero - 4- 5 - Kiwami - 6 - 2 and then hopefully 3. Still really enjoyed 4 & 5 and never really felt all that lost.

Same. It will be especially jarring for those who don't have a Pro if RGGS can't iron out the screen tearing and constant frame rate dips this time around.

2 is my favourite game in the series but I would rather this remake be on the old engine.

Not surprising, but considering the discussion in glorifying crunch in the Polygon thread this type of development does not get discussed much. Makes you wonder if Sonic Team is under perpetual crunch which might be affecting their output.

I know we're 3 for 3 when it comes to Yakuza localization announcements at PSX but I'm still worried lol. Makes the announcement all the better I guess.
