Now you're just reminding me that TvC, a Wii game, looks better than MvC4, a PS4 game. MvC3 is in between.

I don't really think it's fair to say that, at least from a graphics standpoint. Also that screenshot is from the game running in Dolphin in 1080p. Sure you could argue the style is better in TvC but the effects and models are way more detailed and modern in MvC Infinite. I also think if you see the game in person it looks way better than the videos are portraying.

So, d'yall actually think Meioh is actually the third Capcom character?

I mean not that they haven't outright lied before, but it would be especially upsetting, at least for me, if he turns out to be the 3rd Capcom DLC after the comments that he was only an NPC.

The zip leak is what has me worried

Artistically it looks better even in 480p than either MvC game that follows. I was actually playing both MvC3 and TvC last weekend with a buddy. That one is a much closer fight than TvC versus MvCI, which just has awful art in general.

The effects, MvC3 won on that and from what little I've seen of I it continues that trend. Character art matters most to me in a fighting game though and yeeeeesh.

Yeah the character art is quite bad in MvC Infinite so I hear that. I do think the Infinity Stone Storm effects look quite good though, lots of cool particle and lighting effects happening. But yes, the game does have a very sterile color palate.

I mean, they're not wrong to call him an NPC... in the base game~

The particle effects for the Stones are probably the best looking parts. I dislike the lack of Hyper Flash and the lack of comic tearing effects in certain Hypers.

Not on the wall of shame this time. I'm sure I'll probably make it again once the game comes out and we start DLC discussion.

Because ya'll know I probably will talk more about the game than I'd actually play it.

Yeah rollback netcode would be pretty awful in an MvC game, which is why I think MvC3 went with a more slow-down style of netcode. Either way dealing with lag is never going to be perfect but I have high hopes that the netcode will be totally serviceable and playable. If the netcode is like Killer Instinct's netcode then we good.
But Killer Instinct's netcode is rollback (GGPO, if I recall correctly).

UM Tyrant comes through with HULK gameplay finally

unfortunately, much like the previous gamescom Tyrant video, it seems whoever is playing the game (especially on player 2, maybe its vs the AI?) is... not...very good. No offense Tyrant if youre out there lurking, we still apreciate the videos :p

Gotta give props to Rhaknar for linking that E3 footage again.

I legitimately had forgotten that Captain America now has a parry, that makes him seem a lot more interesting to me gameplay-wise. A good Cap is gonna be a real treat to witness at high levels.
Ah, so Wikipedia lied. Thanks for the verification.
IJ2 also does not use GGPO netcode, even Boon for some reason kept referring to it as it is. It was made in-house.

However they DID get consultation from the developers of GGPO I believe, so it's not completely out of nowhere.

I just want good Hulk gameplay somewhere. Someone fly out KBR a build of the game stat, I need to see some Hulk/Haggar insanity.

EDIT: Does standing H just flat out wallbounce now? Weird.

Protip: Just boot up a game. If it has a GGPO logo during the boot sequence, it uses GGPO. If it doesn't, it doesn't. :)

Edit: Inj2 also uses an in-house rollback solution. Its great.

We used GGPO in Divekick, Darkstalkers Resurrection, Marvel vs Capcom Origins, and 3rd Strike Online. Its great.

Looks like Gamma Crush doesn't do much damage...or hit very many times...

If Gamma Crush has good tracking on it, its going to be really scary when he does that move, tags out, and its coming for you in a moment or two as the attacking character mixes you up.

As long as its still got its full invincibility...if it's not high damage anymore I'm going to miss that, though.

Also, I don't think Hulk/Haggar is going to be a thing in this game. I think they're both going to need a partner with more mobility and projectiles to help them get in. Hulk doesn't get the same synergy without access to Lariat assist.

I know about NRS's in-house solution, which is what made me suspicious of the Wikipedia page for GGPO. But yeah, great work on your netcode for KI.

Yo Kafka, at least put up a link to the last thread in the OP.

To avoid this ^

IntelliHeath is going to send me all the info so I will update the original post when I get it.

Also with the roll-back comment I'm sure if implemented correctly it would work well but certain games dropped the ball with it like SF V and of course even more so with SFxT.

Respoting here:
Gamersyde 4k/60 vids
Don't download them for decent gameplay & may require a beefy computer to play smoothly.

I have no idea why it's in 4k, though. I imagine it's just upscaled. I haven't seen anything posted about the PS4 pro support.

Hulk has great mobility actually. His new wall jump is terrifying.

Personally I'm thinking my team is going to he Hulk/Thanos. That nullify projectile would probably help a lot. If it doesn't work out who knows, I just like big bodies.

That was a bad implementation of rollback netcode.

Exactly, who would want Capcom's rollback net code in MVCI? I'm totally aware that other company pulled it off pretty well with their rollback service but Capcom did it injustice. It was often terrible when I faced against players who live in Central or South America.

I know 100% Jedah is gonna be on my team. Popular character I know, but he's just so fun and of course I play him in Darkstalkers too.

But I can't figure out what the other character should be. Just gonna have to play the game and experiment my options. What sort of synergy does anyone else have in mind for him?

Once Sigma comes out though my team will be Jedah/Sigma unless they just have no synergy and can't work. Hopefully the wait for Sigma is only a month or less.

Netcode tiers for me:

Bad Delayed Based Netcode - I won't ever play it
Good Delay Based Netcode - I won't ever play it
Bad Rollback Netcode - I might play once in a while but not often
Good Rollback Netcode - I will play this all the time

I'd take delay based netcode over SFV and SFxTs netcode any day though. The fact that it's possible for one player to be lagging and the other having a normal game is awful.

In games like Guilty Gear I only play with people I know are 2-4 delay and I play on PC which is only has 1 frame input lag in the first place. So it ends up smoother than offline for most fighters.

Capcom is 0/2 for trying to make their own rollback so far.

About where I am. Hoping the reason DBFZ is having a beta is because they're making the switch. I don't see a reason to have a beta if they're using the same netcode they've had for years stretching several games.
