New rock bands aren't popular because "they aren't good enough" according to the Killers. Never really liked this band...

I like this... reminds me a bit of Monster Rally (at least the first song).

Never heard of Monster Rally, I'll check it out

The killers have always been shit (bar their tracks on Rock Band)

Checking out the new Thee Oh Sees album and I'm digging it. I haven't really latched onto anything since Carrion Crawler/The Dream, so I'm very pleased.

I'll check the War on Drugs and QOTSA album later. It's been one hell of a music day for me. 6 new albums for me when I'm done with it all.

What else ya got?

In addition to those 3, some rap/hip hop I listened to

Brockhampton - Saturation II
Wiki - No Mountains in Manhattan
Lil Uzi Vert - Luv is Rage 2

I'm obsessed with Sat2 right now, and the Wiki album was awesome. Guys like Uzi aren't usually my cup of tea but there were a few songs from it I enjoyed. Fans of that stuff should highly enjoy it.

There's even stuff I'm not probably not gonna check out like new Taylor Swift, Action Bronson, Asap Mob. So many albums today.

The new Trailer Trash Tracys Album is fantastic. Thought the first one was way too ambient, but this one hits the spot for some reason

Ooh, i need to listen to this. I liked that first album. Amazed their still going tbh. 5 years after an album that must have sold about 3 copies.

Woah, didn't know this was out! Thanks for the heads up
Yeah, finally came out today. I actually backed it on Kickstarter two years ago lol.

I like it a lot. She's shifted quite a bit towards basically synth pop, rather than straight up rap, which works well for her imo.

They actually changed a lot during the 5 years. 3 of the band left, tried to for with other band s and that didn't work out and now they did a soundtrack for a movie (the 2 that are left) and this new album came out of that

A little late but I think the new Grizzly Bear album is my favorite of theirs. All the songs have a unique flavor to them and the vocal melodies are really catchy. The instrumentation is sublime too (dat guitar tone). Also, does Glass Hillside remind anyone else of Super Paper Mario?

New QotSA is alright. My favorite track is still The Evil Has Landed but that may just be because it's a great song.

I'm also been listening to Heaven or Las Vegas by the Cocteau Twins and simultaneously been kicking myself for not listening to them earlier. What album from them should I listen to next?

Listened to it now. It's alright, there's nothing as good as You Wish You Were Red, Candy Girl or Strangling Good Guys from the first album, but most of the songs are better than the first album's filler stuff. I like the 80's production, it reminded me of Talk Talk in places.

Personally, i love the fact that its easy digestible and less reliant on ambiance the first one was. But yeah the Retro aesthetic along with heavier use of synths makes it much more enjoyable. The first one was too overly ambitions, I felt, full of fillers which I thought they had to do because of it

Got the LCD album ordered already. Not sure I can resist giving it a listen tonight thoughts well if it's put there. They're probably a top 5 band across the last 15 years for me.

Anyone know how much a vinyl copy of The Long Goodbye runs today?

No but I know of a site where you can find out

https://www.discogs.com/LCD-Soundsystem-The-Long-Goodbye-LCD-Soundsystem-Live-At-Madison-Square-Garden/master/692177

you can see current sales listings there. if you scroll down and go to the pages for either of the two versions of the release you can look for the "statistics" section and click on the "last sold" date to see sales history.

Yeah, for me too. They are up there with the my favourite bands of all time. I just hope my high expectation for the new one doesn't effect my enjoyment of it.

LCD Soundsystem really delivered.

I'm always a little wary when a band comes back after a long hiatus, but this stands up well next to their previous albums.

Loving the new LCD Soundsystem, but can't help thinking other voice is simply a carbon copy of Pow Pow with Us Vs Them and Watch the tapes instrumentation.

Really digging Robert Plant's latest singles. His 2014 album, lullaby and the ceaseless roar, really surprised me so I'm definitely gonna check out his upcoming album.
