The molded can go suck a dick.

For some reason this post reminded me of my raging about the molded when the game came out in the wrong thread. The thread was about diversity in the Oscars and I said something along the lines of "these black mother fuckers need to die." Needless to say before I clarified that I meant to post it in the RE7 thread, the timing was impeccably bad.

For people saying 'Im glad I waited', outside having it all in one go, why not jump in on one of the various sales for it? PSN UK has it on sale right now?

Would work out same price if not cheaper than gold. Just missing the extra incoming DLC.

It's a great game

Some people prefer to buy it at retail.

The bits I'll say;

Not A Hero was originally made by a third-party studio, but Capcom was not happy with the quality they got back from the studio and wanted to keep the good will and trust of consumers from people after RE7, so they began heavily reworking it themselves even though it's free for everyone. That's the reason for the delay, they've been reworking Not A Hero and remaking various things, areas, mechanics, etc., for it themselves.

It takes place literally immediately after the RE7 ending, it's basically RE7's "true end" and has a proper final boss and everything. It has a decent amount of new stuff, you go to some new areas as well as expansions on some of the final areas in the game, there's some new types of Molded not in the main game, and that's probably all I should say. It's more action-focused, but that's not to say there's no horror. I don't know if this is in the revised version anymore, but the original one you could punch enemies.

The Zoe DLC takes place in a completely new location, its director was one of the lead people behind P.T., and it's horror focused.

Real Chris confirmed.

This is too damn late, but I am absolutely excited, and getting a true ending from Chris and Zoe is going to be so great.
I'm glad that saving Mia is canon though, felt like the right choice despite everything.

In the trailer when someone is calling for Zoe, is that Ethan's voice or am I mistaken ?

Please tell me it is traditional Resident Evil DLC and not just running and hiding.

Looking forward to playing again with the free DLC and I may pick up a cheap super-platinum complete edition later on with all the DLC included.

When this game comes out are you all going to play end of Zoe or not a hero first?

I've been aching to buy RE7 but ive been swamped with games, good problem to have I guess, I can play RE7 + extra content in its entirety. Thing is, there's no info about Gold Edition, is it just a free DLC? Any changes or improvements?

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
Still have yet to buy this game, so I can wait longer.

Although I fully expect this edition to be full price, at least through early 2018 until eventual PSN sales.

Not a Hero and then the End of Zoe DLC. Not a Hero was originally supposed to release first with End of Zoe near the end of the year, but due to reworks they're both releasing at once.

While I fully suspect I'll enjoy Not a Hero, especially from some stuff I know, I fully also suspect I personally will like the End of Zoe more. Also while I don't know the full details, I think End of Zoe will be a bit more extensive than Not a Hero (not saying that Not a Hero is short, the original version was 1-2 hours long, but apparently the End of Zoe DLC is longer). Plus Not a Hero takes place immediately at the end of RE7, while End of Zoe is kind of its own thing. Not a Hero features locations from the original game expanded, while End of Zoe is in a completely new location.

So for me, it'll be Not a Hero > End of Zoe.

Top 3 game for this year, for me. Best thing Capcom's released in years on a home console.

I'll probably buy this despite owning the original version. Never actually played any of the DLC though, funnily enough but I'm definitely interested in the Chris/Zoe stuff (though the former is free). I'm happy to provide some extra monies for this.

I also suggest if interested in more story stuff and planning to get the Gold Edition to try Bedroom and Daughters (they're in the banned footage). Neither are very long, Bedroom is a bit similar to the Happy Birthday VHS tape from the original game, it's puzzle focused but it stars you playing as Clancey (the guy from the first VHS tape with the TV crew and the Happy Birthday VHS tape) trying to escape Marguerite checking into a room to feed him. Daughters is a prologue to RE7, you play as Zoe back when the Baker family was normal and they rescue Eveline, and shows their downfall. Also has two different endings, a bad end and true end.

Completing both should take you 1-2 hours together, and if planning to go Gold might as well play them I think.

Resident Evil now confirmed 100% shootabang?

The not a hero DLC was always going to be pretty heavily leaning on that with Chris as the starring character. Since at this point the only way to do any sort of real horror with him being scared would be having him stripped of all his weapons and injured in some way.

You can still have action with horror beats though much like RE4 so i think it'll be a nice change of pace. Especially when the Zoe DLC will be entirely horror focused more than likely.

Looks like the PR had different images than Capcom-Unity. Ploygon is where that image is form and they have this as well.

Can't wait for Not a Hero. I haven't played the Banned Footage dlc, but I hear it's not really worth it anyway.

The mines at the end of RE7 were a bit underwhelming in their brief length and design, but I personally always liked the look of it (and it has a rather unique look for a RE setting), so I'm happy to see more of it expanded.

Might as well give bits of it a whirl if you own it. Bedroom is like the Happy Birthday Tape in the main game, puzzle focused. Daughters is a prologue to RE7 and has some nice narrative things, and two endings. Jack's 55th Birthday Mode is basically the game's Mercenaries Mode, but with a few weird twists to it.

(I also personally surprisingly like 21, which is a Saw-esque card game, but that one is more subjective.)
