Destiny 2 character creator is almost identitical to the Destiny's

Kinda sucks bad. Not even beard options. For a game that gives lots of shits on how your character looks, that's kinda awful.

Hey look, I don't care one bit for the helmet argument. It's a big team that also has the power to hire external teams for that. I am really disappointed on how it turned out.

Edit:

Lighting in 2 did enough damage but then you get hair clipping straight in and out of the face.

Heard about this in the shader thread. Literally didn't believe it, had to go check videos of it. Honestly can't imagine what they would say if asked about it in an interview

It sucks it's just one of those smaller "how didn't they fix this?" issues in an otherwise fantastic game.

Such as still only having a single emote slot (but make sure to buy more from Eververse!) and not having a collection for ships or sparrows again (it might not be needed yet but it was nice to have them organized).

It is unneccssessary discussion, because it was known months ago, it was discussed to death and byond, etc.

I didn't hear it mentioned a single time before the game released, and I followed the game relatively closely. Could you point to where this was confirmed months ago?

They'll release a new appearance DLC in 2 months, one beard that buffs your fire stats and 2 goatees that increase charisma.

Eeek ban hammer stronk in here!

The limited/identical character creator is a bummer, but I'm also seeing reports that D1 import characters are looking awful n D2?
Not sure if that's a universal opinion so far.

Identical, but I don't care. My guy always has his helmet on at all times (including social spaces) so it matters not that under it he is a generic bald white guy from D1 (just like me).

Okay now that we have that derail out of the way, let's not do it again. Advice for OP: Might be useful to include a video or screenshots to illustrate the point better too.

I played a bit of Destiny and the character creator was a bit shallow. In a game with such a big population it's better if the character creator can be pretty in-depth. So it's disappointing if they didn't expand it a decent amount.

Sliders FTW. I know LOD comes into play with many characters on screen but multiplayer devs can do better than Destiny 1.

Everything I've seen makes it look like an economic sequel, and I think that's the right choice to make. Pick your battles, and the character creator is pretty low on the list.

I wonder why they opted to simply do nothing here especially when people definately made their voices heard that they wanted beard/facial hair options.

Would've loved a great character creator, I can spend hours in good ones.

For me it's only a small issue when compared to everything else the game offers. Them overlooking it is a let down but understandable.

It would be amazing if later on they offer an update that allows you to alter your Guardian with more options.

It's disappointing for sure, but since the vast majority of players will probably import their old characters, a lot of people probably will never see nor use it. So unless you have something really outstanding that you can deliver, it wouldn't be my top priority either when I develop a sequel.

More I hear about Destiny 2 the less im interested in it, might end up giving it a pass when it finally comes to PC October is packed enough anyway.

Wasnt beards 1 of THE biggest requests for Destiny 1?

Sad. My friends were hyped and said you could totally change your character..

The destiny 2 version isn't even holding the gun right...the gun is tilted in a way that shouldn't be possible with her hands position.

Well this sucks. Still, I'm going to create a new hunter. I went female exo hunter with camo on her face in D1 and it looked really bad in everything but the character creator. Surprised the character creator isn't more robust in D2.

Yeah that's really unfortunate. You'd think if there was any advantage to essentially keeping the same character creator for D1 and D2, it would be making the import character process seamless. Clearly that isn't the case, and whatever (seemingly small) changes were made in D2 had a significant impact on the Guardian's appearance...for the worse.

All examples I've seen have been for human female characters, so I'm not sure if this is a particular bug specifically affecting them or all the race/gender combinations.

My human female Titan from Destiny came up looking awful too. Didn't grab a screenshot but ended up having to delete her. Bothered me too much D:

Holy...

My D1 character looked identical to yours. Same face, same hair style, same hair colour. I've decided to pick up the PC version of D2 if public opinion of the game is still strong by the time it releases there, and up until now I've been sad about not continuing with my female guardian from PS4. But seeing this... I think perishing in the fires of the tower attack is probably more merciful for her. I'll create an Exo for D2, which should be future proof.
