Imagine if she had done this tour in 2016.

She still wouldn't have won?

I don't understand the point you're trying to make, unless you think each visit to a state swings it ~1%. And if you actually do think that... lol? She went to MI, spent a ton of time and money in PA and Florida, and her WI event was cancelled due to the Pulse shooting (and not rescheduled because it didn't look like the state was in play until after the Comey letter knocked off ~3%).

Why is she doing this?

Especially so since the book antagonizes Sanders in such a brazen and open way, and he is still a major part of the Democratic force right now, and antagonizing him will cause rifts among the ranks.

Is it really necessary?
The democratic ranks genuinely suck if what you said is at all true. Also can't help but see the irony in her having opinions about her primary opponent that Are her own is a problem after a movie was released last year with the sole intention of shitting on her.

Get it out of the way now. Hopefully people will have settled down by the midterms and forgotten.

Yep. No surprise who made the thread either. I'm sure we can also look forward to he rest of the usual suspects chiming in here too.

Yeah, I notice the same 3-4 posters always start these threads and then disappear immediately. And mostly the same ones who will be in OTHER Hillary threads like "ugh bitch go away"

It's so transparent

If she just has to get it out, better now than during the midterms or ramp up to 2020. For all the consternation her book is causing, nobody but nobody is going to give a shit about it (or her) three months from now.

Just like Hilary supporters will never let go Bernie being in the primary and tarnishing this good woman's name!

Dems in either the Hil or Bern camp are the literal definition of the pot calling the kettle at this point.

Lol, the big problem that people have with Bernie in the primary isn't even Bernie "tarnishing" Hillary's name. It's the fact that he stayed in the primary long after it was clear he lost, became more extreme in his rhetoric, and helped to cause a major schism in the party.

So much vitriol hahaha.

Shes not allowed to sell abook of her perspective of what happened? Is her opinion and side of the events the one thats not valid?

Hahaha. Campaign season all tactics are fair game, but after the fact "how dare she selfishly sell this book?! It's tearing us apart. She should shut up and go away".

I'll read it. Seems like it at least has some candid words.

I mean, she's still calling out Bernie in her book. The last thing we need is one Democrat calling out another Dem-leaning politician. There's no way that benefits Democrats come the next election.

Hahaha where was this defense post primary?

You do you girlfriend, make that paper!

..

In all seriousness, Hillary Clinton doesn't owe the Democratic party a goddamn thing. She gave 30 years of her life in public service to that party, raised hundreds of millions of dollars and compiled a list of legislative and executive accomplishments that puts her in the pantheon of progressive politicians. She can do whatever the fuck she wants as a private citizen.

Country before party! No wait, um...personal before party!

including frustration over the sheer number of Twitter jokes about Clinton visiting Wisconsin on the tour — something she famously didn't do during the general election.

lol

Why do so many people care about a book tour? She isn't in politics. It seems after every major event someone has to have their tell all book to market and sell. This time it's Hillary. I'm personally not interested cause it seems like a cash grab and I'm tired of talking about Hillary Clinton(and Bernie Sanders). If it bothers people so much can't they just ignore it? Save your vitriol for those who are trying to repeal healthcare, DACA, supporting Nazis, etc. Let the damn women go in peace and try to sell a book. She isn't hurting, bothering or harming anyone.

She had the second worst unfavorable ratings of any presidential candidate besides the orange menace iirc. Doesn't surprise me that many hate her after she lost the most important race of her life. The year 2016 will go down in history as one of America's most tragic electoral years for sure.
Maybe some liberal voters should have actually educated themselves and voted for her to beat Trump rather than voting for spoiler candidates (IE, third party candidates) or outright being idiots and putting troll names like "Harambe" on the ballot!

They had the 2000 election to learn from but instead they fell for the repuplican propaganda about Hillary!

Pretty much. Everyone else gets to write a book and not be harassed but her

I promise I'll throw as much criticism Bernie's way when he writes his side of the story, which is incorrect btw

Gore, Kerry, Dukakis, Mondale nor Carter neither wrote nor published electoral books immediately after their defeats.

Can we wait til the full book is out before we throw it totally under the bus? 4 pages out of a likely 250-300 page book isn't enough to get an entire grasp of the book. At worst I wanna see who else she has any beef with.

Yelling about the primary being rigged did not help. It also does not help when surrogates of his, Nina Turner, still peddle this.

She was one of the most qualified candidates ever but people simply hate her. She can do what she wants but nothing will change that. She did things that nobody would bat an eye at from a male politician but it is what it is. The Dems need to move on.

But with a new NBC News poll showing her approval rating at 30 percent, the lowest recorded for her,

Yeah, no.

If NOW is the current lowest approval rating for Hillary Clinton, that only shows how incredibly stupid so many people are.

Pretty sure the votes from 3rd parties didn't cost her the election.

It was a multitude of things that ultimately did her in but I think on one of the major ones is the Dems no longer doing the 50 state local level strategy and gerrymandering.

God damn sir.

Was this supposed to go against Borgnine's post? I mean she had time to do the solid red 'No we swear it's going purple' states.

I always the love "the candidate is never to blame, ever" posts. Come on man. Those people were always going to be dumb. You lose elections based on how you run your own campaign. In Hillary's case - poorly.

Seems overly dramatic; the tour will be done before 2017 even starts. Congressional election campaigning isn't like the Presidential campaigns which are in full force nearly a year before the election; who is going to care by the time it matters?

Hillary needs to go back to the forest and dissapear from public life forever. She's one of the reasons why that orange fuck is sitting in the WH right now.

The arrogance of this woman is something else.

What did her in was direct manipulation of the election systems by the Russians.

Delivering the Democratic party's biggest lost in history might have a thing to do with it.

Are we really going to blame Hillary for white America's awful decision making? Why are 70% of white men and 50% of white women voting for an openly racist candidate? Is Hillary really the biggest factor here? Trump sold these people what they wanted. She didn't deliver anything.

20+ years PR campaign against you will do that

Do people still think she is gonna run in 2020?

She lost to someone who bragged about sexually assaulting women and tax evasion. She ain't a threat to anyone in that primary.

Gore, Kerry, Dukakis, Mondale nor Carter neither wrote nor published electoral books immediately after their defeats.

Or McCain, or Romney, etc.

It does come off as rather selfish, and is entirely money motivated. She could just do press interviews if she wanted to get out "what happened."

What happened is you didn't campaign where you needed to (and a multitude of other things), but she's already put a lot of the blame on her own campaign for not being where they needed to be).

What did her in was direct manipulation of the election systems by the Russians.

Again another factor but I think the Russians wouldn't have been as effective if the Republicans didn't have a majority in most state houses as well as in the House.

I don't actually think her book will particularly hurt Democrats in 2018, let alone 2020. It will, however, do a lot to erode her base of support within the institutional Democratic Party if she was hoping to be a kingmaker going forward.

There were enough 3rd party and throwaway votes in Florida that would have flipped Florida to Hillary!

With that logic Trump should have lost as his was literally a clown show! Voters need to accept their responsibility aswell as they knew or were warned about the risks of protest votes!

Why does HRC have an approval rating? She's not in any public office.

Not sure. Did Romney, Mcain, Kerry, Dole, etc. write books after losing elections?

Even if they did, HRC represents so much more than just a lost election. She's an unfortunate reminder of the total failing of the Democratic Party to nominate someone remotely electable. I personally am not too critical of her tour and was a Clinton supporter in the primaries, but I wouldn't call this a normal situation.

She is a private citizen, she wanted to serve but people didn't want her. She can do whatever she wants. She owes nothing to no one

She's releasing a book. Wow. The arrogance.

The arrogance of selling a book? I don't know what is parody anymore. The degree of hate and dead horse beating is comical. I truly can't stop laughing.

People acting like she's running for president again. It's a book hahahaha. How dare she share her side hahaha.
