Halo |OT 25| Did you think me defeated?!"

Can we please get an XB1 version of Spartan Strike?

With all the BC announcements it's going to be the only title missing.

I'm willing to bet that we might get Spartan Strike next year if Halo 6 is announced as 2019 title. Of course considering the XB1 version was delayed because of the MCC being buggy who knows if we will ever see it.

Source on this?

Also, someone on Reddit made the germane point about the Spielberg TV news that it might just be a promo series prior to Halo 6's release at this point, and it makes a certain amount of sense.

Are some of the Achievements for Halo 3 ODST glitched? I finished Halo 3 ODST in single player on Heroic and none of the achievements dropped for finishing the game. It says in the menu, 11/11 completed. :-(

This is the MCC version of ODST.

I may be misremembering this but i believe you have to watch the full opening and closing cut scenes. (i could be thinking of H3's Arrival, 'though)

I had the rare opportunity yesterday to get 8 friends together for a good 'ole Halo LAN party (if you can call it that for Xbone). Despite its flaws, the MCC is my dream game, the ability to cherry pick the craziest shit from past Halo games is just incredible. We played stuff like Chiron TL-34 FFA shotguns, Fiesta FFA on Turf, 4v4 One Flag Longshore with fat kid settings for the flag carrier.

I LOVE classic Halo, I wish a shit ton of people would flock back to repopulate the MCC. You can find matches easily but I dread to think of the day where the population becomes too small to sustain it.

I understand, and I feel the same.

I used to play MCC almost daily since it launched, but since a few weeks, I started playing DOOM again, thanks to the latest update and the free season pass Bethesda gave, and I can't go back on the MCC now.

DOOM 2016 feel like the perfect Halo child, it even have a wonderful BR-like, and while I miss the reload system from Halo and the vehicles, I appreciate its base player movement speed and the fact that no players ever camp in DOOM.

The MCC was such a great idea. It could regain traction if 343 would go back and fix it imo.

It could at any point but they will never do it. Fixing it up, advertising the fix would get people back. I know it gets thrown around a lot, but man a PC version would do super good I feel.

Yeah the MCC is such a cool package. I've played through the campaigns so many times. I love Halo 2's Anniversary campaign.

Such a travesty it's online features didn't work well. I still had great memories from it though. We had some super fun customs pretty frequently with HaloGaf when it came out... Ugh I miss classic Halo.

I redownloaded the MCC recently and to be fair the game is somewhat playable now. I've been able to start and play a bunch of matches without many issues.

Partying up is a pain in the arse and still very broken though.

The game failed to load up for us once yesterday playing co-op Halo 2, but it kept the party together throughout. No quitting the build needed.

I bought Spartan Strike on my phone when it was on sale, but I've been waiting to play it on console first. Strange how it's not ported by now.

To be fair, it was never officially announced for console, it just seemed likely given Spartan Assault.

At this point it's probably on the pile of diminished returns, right next to MCC.

Yo, I did more art. Just experimenting with trying to make a slightly more plausible BR design:

Not really shockingly different than what we have now, but I'm all about them details.

Don't want to keep shitting up the H5 thread with non-Halo 5 talk, but while there is jank, I am liking how CE SPV3 kept the neons and bright colors. I feel that Halo 5 doesn't really look like Halo. Have felt it since H4 and H2A.

If they are really taking their sweet time, let's bring some color and aesthetic from the past. Especially if H6 might be on another ring. No tint, fogs, filters, and humans having generic white structures ripped from Mass Effect 3 etc.

H2A is plenty bright, and Reach started toning stuff down well before 4, but I agree that the vibrancy is one of Halo's strengths.

SPV3 is kind of a mess, but I enjoy it for what it is. No one's taking away CE from people and CEA has its own visual issues.

It is pretty good really works love the details.

Great; yeah I probably spent too much time on the details but I think it worked out.

Looks like the love child between an L85 and a FAMAS.

I definitely looked at those as references. It was a lot of mixing and matching of components, since there were rifles with cool front ends or cool carry handles, but they weren't bullpups....

I quite like it.

Thanks!

Hey HaloGAF, how is the MCC these days for campaign co-op? Thinking about picking up a One S and being able to play through the story with my family is a big reason for it. I don't care about online play at all.

The campaigns are okay.

They're not perfect, you'll probably run into a couple of bugs but they're completely playable and feel really good running at 60fps.

I played yesterday all night with a friend on the MCC, coop via Xbox Live, and it worked quite fine.

We encountered some issues on Halo CE when we first started playing, since our connection had hard time synchronizing, after after a few seconds, it worked really well and we were able to play for hours on CE through Keyes, The Maw and The Silent Cartographe without having any issue.

Same goes for Halo 4, Halo 3 and Halo 3 ODST, no problem at all once our connections were synchronizing.

So I assume if you play on our own console, it wouldn't be a problem at all.

Warfleet is neat so far but they seriously messed up the contrast on Hans Jenssen's illustrations so they are all a little washed out. I even got out my copy of Star Wars: Incredible Cross-Sections to compare. I really hope there are some angry emails to the publisher and it's fixed in the second edition.

I'll post a more detailed review this weekend maybe.

I like it.

Not sure about the alternating triangle pattern though. I was never keen on that with Bungie's BRs

Thanks! The triangles I'm not die hard about but they are intended to harken back to the old BR and DMR.

Got my copy of Warfleet today. Gooooorgeous. I'm gonna have to pore over it and soak it all in, but paging through it I saw a lot to like. Three small complaints, though:

-No introduction page for the Forerunner section
-Gutter loss on some of the 2-page spreads
-No Long Night of Solace cutaway, or mention of the CSO-Class at all! C'mon, son.

Still waiting on Amazon to send my copy of Warfleet. In the mean time I picked up a store copy for a friend. Book is beautiful. Makes me really sad however that Spartan Games went out of business and will no longer release Fleet Battles.

Aw man, I hadn't heard about that :/

No Fleet Battles and no Ground Command. Damn shame.

Yup, unless someone picks up the lisence. I only had the starter sets and planned to get more but alas. What's left is being hoarded and fought over by others with more disposable income than I.

I should try Sins of the Prophets if my computer can run it.

Edit : it would nice to hear something from 343 regarding the future of the games but I imagine we won't.

Sins of a Solar Empire is pretty old at this point, you'll probably be fine.

Damn cool mod btw.

I'm so very glad I bought a Marathon and Phoenix Class the week before they went tits up.

I complained about this elsewhere, but I really wish they'd release the Halo art books (making off, Warfleet, Mythos, etc.) as digital books at some point. I don't have room for more stuff, let alone Halo stuff, so basically I can't justify buying them if they're gonna' take up room. Especially for referencing in articles and the like, the digital copies of the books are much more useful as well.
