DB Xenoverse 2 Switch's XV1 content (JP) comparison with XV1 on PS3 and PS4

Ndukauba, who's been uploading vids of XV2 on Switch, took the time to record and explain how you access the Xenoverse 1 story mode content. You have to beat the XV2 version of the respective saga to access to XV1 version. For now it's still unclear if the west will get this but hopefully it will.

Anywho, I grabbed a couple of comparisons between the Switch version in XV2, vs the original PS3 and PS4 versions of XV1, specifically from the Android saga.

Interesting that they made actual additions to the Switch version with the added foliage and clouds.

Any XV2 Switch footage out yet? I reckon it should be indentical visually since it's 30fps for the Switch version afaik at 1080p?

Extra headroom perhaps and now that they can work on XV1 indivdually so they can bother to work more on it i guess
XV1 was simultaneously released on 360/PS3/XB1/PS4/PC

It seems in Japan you get access to X1 contents beating specific parts of X2
Hopefully will be that way here too

XV2 Switch is:

900p docked
720p portable
60fps in 1vs1 fights, 30fps in all other fights

I couldn't see the video, but looking at the pics, it's weird to think that the PS4 and PS3 are identical and the Switch version looks better by far.

I think the switch version looks better, and it will certainly play better in the XV1 missions with the improvements to combat from XV2. If only the switch version came with the DLC...

Yeah that's why i am hoping those are also in the west version because so far i have seen the gameplay of 2 is improved compared to 1.

The XV1 missions are translated for every languages in the Japanese version, interpret that as you will.

I think people are misunderstanding. This are Xenoverse 1 story mission in Xenoverse 2 which are Switch exclusives. The screens your are seeing are comparing those exclusive Switch mission in Xenoverse 2 to Xenoverse 1 on PS3/PS4 not to actual Xenoverse 2 on PS4

If they are misunderstanding then they seriously lack reading comprehension. I rather think the surprise comes from not realising that the XV1 missions are built in XV2 rather than being a port itself, and as a result the XV2 graphical features added to Switch XV1 missions seem random.

Yeah. For those who haven't quite watched the vid yet: Not unlike the DLC, you access the XV1 missions by talking to one of the little robots, who invites you to go on 'Legend Patrols'. It might just be that in the west, it was felt to be inappropriate to advertise that as 'Xenoverse 1 and 2'.

These are XV1 missions presented inside of XV2. I wouldn't really call that "adding" content.

A few more environment details, but appreciated.

So the XV1 content is on-cart? That's a very, very good news if that's the case. Considering it was initially supposed to be a downloadable voucher.

I'm not sure. I would think it's DLC as was said but it seems unclear?

I don't understand these games, are they just missions? No core story between the two?

I wonder if those improvements are just improvements made to that arena in XV2 and rather than have two versions of the arena (because that'd be silly) to have XV1 content in there, it's getting those upgrades.

Would be interesting to see a comparison between a similar part of that area in XV2 on PS4.


And yeah, we have no idea if the XV1 content will be included in the game outside of JP. You would assume it would be, because that just makes sense. But Bamco have been pretty silent about XV2 switch outside of Japan, it's like they forgot they're releasing it here.

There's a main story, although the story of both games involves going back in time to famous battles from Z to defeat villains that are powered up by an original enemy and then eventually defeat that new enemy.

These are technically the XV1 story missions running in XV2, not XV1 itself.

Ahh interesting haven't heard of this

That makes sense to put XV1 in XV2 engine to save space so it's basically XV2 then not a port of XV1

It better be, I mean, it's already available in English with the Japanese version. It would be fucking dumb if it's not there.

They haven't said officially if the XV1 content will be in the West....

...but it'll probably come to the West. It would be more needless work to take that content out for the West and print separate carts for us here in that state. We'll probably get it all.

Back to the images...they look good! Can't wait to get dat physical :D
