Overhaul is as much interesting as Stain before we had his "you are all fake" speech. I mean both were villains that served as foils to make Shigaraki grow. The only difference that Overhaul final battle hasn't ended yet.

My main problem with Overhaul is he's just a boring design visually. Stain was pretty striking from the beginning.

I like that. It's a common and human mistake, and it's triply good if Deku actually learns from it.

If anything, that's an insanely relatable situation. It's not like Deku even had good reason to take Eri away from her 'father'. He just felt something was really off by the atmosphere, but that's not exactly just cause. So without that, Deku had no reason to not follow the ever present social instinct to just keep quiet and mind your business, even if other instincts came in conflict with that.

Deku isn't and was never going to be a perfect hero who makes every correct decision. And that means he's gonna fuck up, to potentially disastrous consequences. That that danger exists is a good thing in a character.

I think Nemuto just died. That or nemuto brain is somewhere in his body. Either way I don't see Overhaul going back to normal.

Is Tokyo Ghoul any good?

It's been a minute since I read it, but I liked it. As a manga, it was a solid read. That said, it has a sequel manga, Tokyo Ghoul: Re, and I ended up dropping it out of boredom and it being frustrating to keep up with all the characters (art style/design makes them look all samey), so I dunno, take that as you will. Maybe when it finishes one day, I'll re-read the entire thing.

I really liked the original manga.
The sequel has been kind of whatever with some great stuff now and then, but there's way too many characters now and it's hard to keep them apart.
It's something that's probably better read in one go when it's done.

It takes a while to get going and lately been loosing its way a bit IMO but I'd still recommend it as easily one of best things of late. Try to catch the redone version of chapter 1 to see if the current artstyle and Ishida's storyboarding mesh with you.

The way he hugged Mirio was waaaaaaay more emotional than it should have been under oblivious circumstances.

This is kind of a systemic problem w/ how the author allocated the power sets. None of the girls are really direct combat oriented except Tsu so its harder to give them things to do.

Tamaki: Essentially solos three bullets. Gets a pretty good three chapter run.
Mirio: Handles two bullets and Chisaki. Probably the most significant character of the arc.
Nejire: Helps assist a pro hero potentially defeat one bullet off screen.
