Yes, there are tons of people who would love for that to happen. That's why they voted him in so he could kick out a bunch of brown/black people and build a stupid, expensive wall that will be circumvented anyway .

He's disputing the claims at the same time as saying exactly what the claims are saying.

He's done a deal with the democrats on this. They'll increase border security funding but won't fund the wall, in return for legislation for daca. Republicans will have to support this because of trump, and in the end they will get less than they would have of had they done a deal with Obama in the first place years ago.

Honestly without the context of the story from last night, that's what I thought his tweets were about when I saw them this morning. I thought he was doing an about face on the military service....

This is such an easy slam dunk - support for Dreamers is an 80/20 issue in this country, even a strong majority of Republicans support at least not deporting them. Immigration reform didn't happen under Obama only because Republicans refused to give Obama a win on something they themselves supported. That said, it's still weird as hell to see Trump do the right thing for maybe the first time in his presidency.

It also looks like Trump has officially admitted "the wall" is now just a metaphor for funding repairs for fences in certain locations and not a 2200 mile translucent solar panel-lined monstrosity.

So basically it's on, but then order security concessions made are actually "massive", the wall already exists and is scattered border fences, and can't we all just get along folks?

Gotta keep that cheap Maralago staff.

That attempt at damage control over the wall is hilarious. "Technically I'm already building the wall if you think of standard maintenance on some fencing as building the wall!"
