Torment (1, I didn't go any further) is a breeze for now (this is my gear atm), I completed a GR and got a Bane of the Powerful, as you said. Also, I looked into my Arcane power regen stuff and now I'm good, I probably just had a very poor combo of gear and abilities that would just eat into it.

As for Kadala, I had to buy some stuff from her because I noticed I reached the blood shards cap after not being able to collect the loot of a blood thief goblin, and all I got was really bad stuff. Is she affected by anything or is it just pure rng?

But yeah, you can add me to the clan, thanks.

Yeah, Kadala is pure RNG, but she isn't limited by difficulty. You can get any item from her, though some things don't really drop, I've never seen her drop daggers for the Demon Hunter, for example - probably because the one-handed weapon category overrides those with crossbows.

Anyway, I've added you into the clan, you just gotta confirm it on your end. You char isn't seasonal, but that's no big deal. I'm on fairly regularly, so see you whenever.

They nerfed the Blessed Shield legendaries a bit, still a buff compared to before but it didn't seem that OP.

Edit: Hopefully they reached their goal and we finally get a non archon wizard build that is competitive.

Pretty excited for those IK and HoTA barb changes!!!

The Bloodshed passive change seems like it will jive nicely will HoTA's almost 100% CHC.

I'm not even sure which build I want to start off with next season, what with all these buffs. I mean, I can't get anymore stash tabs, so picking a good class for the season journey isn't the focus anymore either. Though with 2.6.1 any class can do it just fine regardless of set used.

Never been a fan of the Int classes... lazymode Whirlwind is just so relaxing, could roll with that. Or perhaps Invoker Crusader? Tried it once, but never put in the effort to really gear him. Choices, choices.

Bloodshed would be a straight up 20% damage increase for HotA, yeah. Probably a must-have skill for Barbs now.

Thornsader was fun back in the day. Maybe give that a try. Embrace the horsey!

I'm debating on whether to try and do Thornsader again or do a Necro build.
Or maybe even a Barb! (Whirlwind was fun back in the day.)

Thorns was quite fun the last time I did it, but that's been several seasons ago.

haha what

(Reading that, they also buffed the Impale Damage Bonus on Karlei's Point to 375-500%)

lmao this is awesome. It's purely PvE so why not go nuts with buffs? Make it fun, new, different
Crazy buffs would screw up the leader boards and they would have to introduce more Torment lvls to challenge players at the highest lvl. High end players would use the whatever builds have the absolute highest dmg, party sustainability, and survivability. It puts things close to square 1, certain builds, sets, gear will be preferable due to min max GR pushing. The lasting change will be higher Torment lvls added.

I like they are buffing sets and I'm looking forward to the new season, but unless they continue to rebalance things considerably each season some builds, sets, and gear will rise to the top and players will flock to those options.

I'm just ignoring all these PTR changes until we know what the final changes are going to be. They always keep trying out these crazy numbers during PTR and then nerf everything back to nothing for the final patch.

Blizzard making sure most builds can at least do TXIII?

I don't care if they can do GR90+ or not just let me farm TXIII with whatever.

EDIT: Shadow Set 6 bonus increased from +10,000% Impale damage to +50,000%!

6PC Impale went from 40K to 50K, a 20% increase, rather than fivefold. The Karlei buff however, that's crazy. Just a quick bit of math to demonstrate the difference, if we assumed a baseline Impale before buffs did 1 point of damage:

2.6:
1 x 13 (1.200% 2PC) x 401 (40.000% 6PC) = 5.213

2.6.1 with just 80% Karlei buff:
1 x 13 (1.200% 2PC) x 1.8 (80% Karlei) x 401 (40.000% 6PC) = 9.383,4

2.6.1 with new 6PC and increased Karlei buff:
1 x 13 (1.200% 2PC) x 6 (500% Karlei) x 501 (50.000% 6PC) = 39.078

That's stronger by a factor of 7.5. Right now, taking my seasonal DH... well, there's some wild variation, I've had CoE crits go beyond 400 billion, but let's say it averages for 220 billion impale crits while on CoE. With this, I'd hit 1.65 trillion. This would let me 3 shot a 75 rift guardian (they got 4 trillion HP), or at the high end of the spectrum, it'd be nearly 3 trillion a hit. Whew, gets the blood going, that. It basically puts me into the same ballpark as Killrog's crazy Rathma Necro on season. Which is getting a good bit of love too - going from 2.500% to 4.000%, a 60% total increase in damage.

Amidst all this buffing hilarity, there's even downside. People might be unable to play Impale outside of GR80+. You need to proc Karlei to keep up with resource drain. But if you oneshot enemies, there's no proc. I already have this issue now on T13. With those buffs, there'd be fucking nothing which can take 2 hits - you'd be out of resource all the time.

I'm just ignoring all these PTR changes until we know what the final changes are going to be. They always keep trying out these crazy numbers during PTR and then nerf everything back to nothing for the final patch.

Usually I'd be compelled to agree - and they nerfed Shield Throw a bit again, though hardly to the point you'd say it's useless -, but Blizz posted an article a few days ago wherein they detailed the approach to this round of PTR buffs. To quote the interesting bit,

"We're locking down on changes now to smooth out bugs and performance issues, as well as other fine-tuning steps before patch launch. That process can take a while, so there's a point at which we must stop making new changes.

We've now reached that point on the PTR, so don't expect too many more sweeping changes for Patch 2.6.1 (barring anything game breaking we need to address post-patch or via a hotfix)."

If I was to take this at face value, I'd say the buffs are here to stay. Fingers crossed! I want that high roller gameplay, baby!

lol. why add nuance and variety to the game when you can just make the numbers bigger.

Dreams-Visions: Mad as Hell.

No, but more seriously, this is a twofold buff. Necromancer came in hot and trounced nearly all other classes and builds by a big margin, so they opted to just establish parity. Now pretty much every set has the capability to compete.

Personally, I also don't mind the buffs in perspective to aiming towards higher GRs. I mean, the hardcap of GR 150 hasn't been reached legitimately, ever. Gotta get there someday :p .

Alright, that has happened, even on PC. Back when Monks could be perma-invincible and Rimeheart had it's instakill-proc. But that was patched out and rolled back.

I find the Ricochet rune on Impale helps with that - usually there are more than 3 around.

I know they gave their reasons but I see this as either a final buff and they are done with the game or they are laying the groundwork for some new difficulties or some other endgame thing. Also they could of buffed LoN if they wanted more diversity.

Poor Zuni, gets a boost to 5500% and is still left in the dust by Helltooth. Should of reworked it to a fetish only set.

Anyone know how to get the mouse 4 and 5 buttons to work? On the key mapper it recognizes it but when I try to use it in game it does not work. I am trying to map mouse button 4 to 'Force Stand Still'.

Edit: Mouse 4/5 seem to work when mapped to the action bars. I wonder if it has to do with the 'Force Stand Still' mechanics. I am trying to hold Mouse 4 to stand still while using Mouse 1 for my primary attack.

Edit - Disregard everything I said before.

It is working for my mouse. Maybe different mouses send polling data differently.

Ya. I have a Logitech. It must cancel the mouse 4 button when mouse 1 is hit. Seems weird still. I changed around my mappings so I can just hold shift and use my mouse for the action buttons.

11 gems in, still no Gem of Ease, feelsgoodman.
Also, I have 4 pieces of the Firebird set with 3 dupes boots, so I rerolled one and got the pants, which I had already, but now I don't have any more forgotten souls because I don't want to salvage legendaries yet.

Salvage anything that doesn't have a special property to cube and the worst if all doubles.

wow, that shadow set buff - I was planning a monk for next season, but now - looks like another DH at first

just so easy to select a shadow build as a first gear option.

Returning player here, last time I put much effort into this was the release of Reaper of Souls and that was just to clear the story content. This is my first season and my Wizard is through the first 5 chapters of the seasonal milestones. The Tal Rasha's set is really powerful. I'm running Spectral Blades (lightning), Disintegrate (Arcane), Explosive blast (fire), and Frost Nova (cold) with Energy shield and magic weapon for self buffs. My Kanai Cube is still being filled out but I'm using Deathwish, Aquila Cuirass, and Band of Broken Promises. I'll be using Convection of Elements if I can get it to drop. I'm able to blast through r31 but around there my defense isn't really cutting it even though my damage is enough to obliterate anything up to that point. Some guides say use teleport but disintegrate has become a massive part of my damage that I can't give it up. Is there anything in the cube I should be aiming for when gambling with Kadala? How do I upgrade my set from "normal" to Ancient? I want to push through the rest of the milestones but the T13 stuff seems out of my league at the moment.

Also, I see folks talking about how Archon is OP. I got Vyr's set in the process of finishing up the tasks and I'm missing the off hand for Chantotto's set so I've almost got the required pieces to run it (I think?), is this route more viable to pushing higher Torment levels?

So, what's the strategy for the challenge rifts? Running until you find elites? I guess there's some rng, I almost got it with 30 seconds extra and now I was like 2 minutes late. I also never played the monk so that's probably a factor too.

Edit: only 12 seconds, damn. I'm kinda getting the hang of it, though.

Edit2: Alright, completed it almost a minute earlier. Everyone was in the same spot, no rng, just needed to git gud.

I don't have enough for now, 10 is a lot.

I don't have enough for now, 10 is a lot.

Depends on the rift. I usually just play it normally though.

If it is too hard do it in a public match with a group of 3-4.

Is there anything in the cube I should be aiming for when gambling with Kadala?

Depends on your build. Pure channel Tal Rasha is not that great atm. You could try getting the source Etched Sigil. You can see all the available cube powers my mousing over them on the selection screen. Maybe something catches your eye.

You should probably try and fit the ring Manald Heal in your build somewhere.

How do I upgrade my set from "normal" to Ancient?

Every time a legendary drops it has a 10% chance to be ancient. You can use the "reforge legendary" cube recipe to have a chance to upgrade an existing legendary/set item to ancient. Note that the "reforge set item" recipe cannot roll ancients. That recipe is only for completing the set.

Also, I see folks talking about how Archon is OP. I got Vyr's set in the process of finishing up the tasks and I'm missing the off hand for Chantotto's set so I've almost got the required pieces to run it (I think?), is this route more viable to pushing higher Torment levels?

Than pure Tal Rasha, yes. The big build for the current season for wizards is Tal Rashs6/Vyr4. You would need a ring of royal grandeur for that. It only drops from bounty caches. Chantotto's is actually not used for that build.

Is there a way to check the effect of Kanai's Cube reflected in a stat? Like for example, Leoric's Crown increases the effect of a helm gem by 100%, so if I have a red gem I should get double the exp, but if I look at the gem effect on the helm it doesn't get updated to the new value.

This specific info (for Leoric's Crown) is reflected in the details tab of your character, below the DPS / toughness / recovery section. The helm effect works just fine though.

A lot of legendary effects aren't reflected anywhere though, but you do get their benefits regardless. Stuff like the Focus and Restraint set of rings can increase your DPS by 125%, yet it won't display so on the character sheet. Just roll with it :p .

Alright, finally found the Gem of Ease. For the levels near 25 I'll have to play on rifts I'll probably have a hard time with. Today I completed a gr lv22 and it was starting to be a little tough, not really that efficient.
The Firebird set seems to have a pretty big power spike on completion so if I can get all the pieces (5/7 so far) that will help. Or a Ring of Royal Grandeur, but from what I'm reading it seems like a rare drop.

6PC Firebird's would multiply your damage by a factor of up to 24. A good start!

From what I've read Ring of Royal Grandeur is only from Act 1 bounty caches so I'd focus on that. It's useful for a ton of builds so it's worth farming for.

I looked around Icy Veins for a progression focused Wizard build just so I could clear enough to get the stash tab from the season journey. I think I'm missing too many critical pieces of the meta archon/tal build to make it work as advertised so I'm improvising a disintegrate tal build that's working pretty well (Torment 10 milestones cleared). Hopefully Kadala or the cube will grant me what I need to comfortably finish the journey.

So I'm working on "Slayer" and I'm stuck. I have no clue how to use the machines you collect from the key guardians.

It says use in new tristram but nothing happens when I click on them, and 0 explanation is provided. I'm in torment 7 difficulty, so that's not the problem...

Can anyone help?

There's a house with a breakable door next to the healer. Just walk up a bit from where you start, it's to the right of the enchanter.

Few builds can do it solo, and even in a group, you more or less need that awesome single first floor rift to make it work. A lot of the tilesets just don't have the density. If it's one of the wide open maps with Skeletons and Summoners, you have the best shot at it.

Yup, I've been looking for that graveyard or prison tileset that can typically be the entire rift to get it done, but I'm not sure if I'll be fast/powerful enough to do it on my own.

I just kept joining random TX games and then boom, Fields of Misery, me and one other guy were going our separate ways just tearing through everything, 2 other guys were mostly just straggling, but we did it. FoM is probably the best map, but any big open map like that has potential.

Wow, it's crazy the amount of people I've seen with Paragon 1000+ this season, even saw like 2-3 Paragon 2000+. WTF, that's alot of playtime in a season.

How many of you have played the original "Diablo"?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fl5I5CUTqh4

Saw it on a shelf at launch, bought on impulse. My computer could only get like 3-4 fps but I still got to floor 20 or so. The game didn't drop frames though, it just slowed everything down.

EDIT - This reminds me, the faster an ARPG plays the harder it is to appreciate the music. I am thinking of D3 here. So many sound effects.
