Persona 5 |OT2| Someone must have been helping you go to bed early. Talk!

I watched Baby Driver a couple of days ago, and the violins in the first song reminded me of Wake Up Get Up Get Out There. It's also about thieves...

I always tell myself to just date every girl in P4/P5, but I always end up chickening out. I also end up dating the same girl every time. In P4 I tend to go for Naoto, despite thinking Chie is actually best girl. P5 probably won't be any different. I really like Ann, Tae and Kawakami, but I'll probably end up with Makoto again, just you watch.

That's not a bad thing per se, since Naoto and Makoto are great as well, but I'm just really inflexible.

Anyway, it's been about 4 months since I completed my first playthrough. I think I'm going to wait another month and start my NG+ run on October 4th, exactly six months after its initial release. Might even try remote play, since it would allow me to take screenshots.

I romanced all of them except Hifumi who's at rank 9, I'm on the day before
Shido's confession
so I guess this is the cut off point for confidants

I more or less just started playing Persona 5, but this here really put me off:
hqdefault.jpg

The answer the game wants to hear is 4, it then goes on about the 4 color theorem, which is a historical proof in mathematics. However the picture in the teacher's question is cutting the plane with straight lines (from border to border), which is another math problem and can be proven much easier to always be doable with even only TWO colors!

Some guy on reddit even went through the trouble of doing it in paint:
Edit: This game is out for over a year in japan and this wrong question could not be patched?

I actually answered two at first and couldn't be arsed to reload.
I rage shut down my PS4 when the teacher lectured me that my answer was wrong. Think I'm going to have to play the last 2 days again and will not answer the question with 4 this time around either.
If a real teacher would have corrected my correct answer, not giving me a chance to explain myself and then started lecturing me about it... I don't think I'd be much more riled up then when the game did it.

I obviously wasn't very efficient with time, I ended up with tower at rank 4, hierophant and hanged man at 5 and Futaba and Ryuji both at 8.

I came a lot closer to max social links on my first playthrough of 3, think it was only aeon and one other I failed with, never finished 4

I was thinking I was doing well until I realised how many confidants I was missing completely.

Late edit: Just got and repaired the laptop,
I love this game

To me this is one of the most glaring examples of localization issues. I don't even know if the answer was wrong in the original Japan release, but the fact it couldn't even be fixed (due to Atlus or poor localization) is inexcusable.

If it was an issue in the Japanese version, it couldn't be fixed with just a script change as the image would need to be changed as well.

I finished it today for the first time. A bit over 125 hours, did all confidants, books, games, level 99. Didn't get all gifts but eh.

I never expected the game to be my second fav this gen and dethrone BOTW but damn it's amazing. I quit P4 pretty early because I just wasn't feeling it, never happened with P5, adored all the party members and most of the confidants were amazing too.

I wish we'd get more JRPGs of this quality but it's been a minute since I've played one that captivated me this much and made me hunger for more story. The dungeons were not tedious at all either, I love the thematic elements in each of them and the buildup to the main bossfight. Mementos were ok and that they were a part of the story made them much better than copy paste stuff some other games have, chalices in BB come ti mind.

Also fuck Morgana
for taking so long to come back, the fluffy bastard made me so mad T_T

It's been a while since I played the game, but
there's a final day (it might be like Christmas Eve) where all confidants can be visited even if its not their scheduled day. Really saved my ass when I only had one left before getting the trophy.

Finally got around to starting the game this weekend. I've had it since launch but I just had no time for such a large time investment. Really digging how stylish it is, the music and aesthetic is great. The story is pretty dark, darker than I would have expected, some pretty mature themes even in this first scenario. My only gripe right now is the extent of the tutorialisation in this game. I'm around 6 hours in and it still feels like I'm on a linear track moving from one tutorial to another between story scenes. Looking forward to things loosening up.

I'll never get used to these conversations with shadows. Well maybe I will. It's frustrating for me.

I beat down that first "boss"(?). Heading into the long weekend (in the game), not sure what I want to focus on. Charming enough to get a job that works day or night, so maybe I'll see where that leads.

You gotto be KIDDING me!!! That math teacher... seriously, wtf.

While it's correct that 1.414 ( = square root of 2) is an important ratio, it's usually referred to as "pythagoras's constant"(edit: Link).
It's the ratio the A4 paper size uses for example, the Silver Ratio however is the ratio of the the piece that is left when you subtract the largest possible square from that, it is equal to 1 + (square root of 2) ~ 2.414.

I'm over 13 hours in and still feels like a tutorial. I learned about Mementos, have my own keys, and yet I can hardly ever do what I want. The games keeps telling me about new things, "hey you can do this now!", "don't forget to do this or that!", "don't forget to study or wander the town and find confidants or work" and yet the game keeps taking agency away from me. The cat keeps preventing me from doing what I want, and instead forcing me to sleep. I'm told about something I can do, and then the game just keeps preventing me from doing anything and advancing days automatically.

There is this wide, amazing game there for the taking and yet the game won't. fucking. let. me. do . anything. In the span of ten days they may actually let you do any of those things once or twice.

Finally finished this game yesterday, it took me 120 hours. I will really miss this universe. Sometime it was kind of a slog, especially when you try to rush it, but overall a great game with an amazing presentation, and the themes are matures and well-thought, especially the ending part with strong philosophical content.
I think there is some balancing issue in normal difficulty, i always managed to finish a dungeon in one or two days and then it was kinda boring to do 20 days of social activities.
I think it's one of my favorite game, 2017 is just too good for gamers.

It gets a lot better or I just gotten used to it. It does take until after the second palace to pick up the pace.

The same goes for hard each palace takes me less time to complete, the first palace took me 7 ingame days, the second about 4 or 5, the third 3 then the fourth took me 2 days and now the fifth I did in a single run. Now I don't mind, I really enjoy the social stuff and some days I jump into Mementos. Also though it takes less ingame days I don't think the real time decreases, I spend as much time dungeon crawling. It is just because of equipment, skills and bonuses from confidants I last way longer before I need to get some sleep ;).

I just finished the second palace. Things seemed a tad better as I was able to get in a position to send the calling card much sooner. My best bud played over 100 hours and also told me it gets a lot better, so I am sticking with it.

Aside from that, Yusuke's reveal was pretty damn heart breaking.

Wow The Cake Knight Rises and Operation Maidwatch lol

In the middle of October now and just sitting here trying to justify my romances with Kawakami, Takemi, and Ann.

I'm in high school damn it! I'm playing the field!

... Would honestly be interested in watching this movie again with a 'replaced' soundtrack of songs from Persona 5. I think you've hit something there - there are quite a few scenes where I can think of where the Meguro composition would be perfectly fitting.

Heck, expand it to the soundtracks from the other modern Persona games as well and I could see it having a very nice blend... P3, especially.

I more or less just started playing Persona 5, but this here really put me off:

It's actually been really fascinating watching you take down some of the math problems. Do you have history/training/education in math at higher levels?

Also, is there a way that I can figure out how to do the true ending without getting spoiled?

Don't worry, it's pretty difficult to mess up the true ending unless you're doing it deliberately. Just keep going, you'll see where you have the options to go for other endings.

If you want a little bit of advice (not really spoiler, just spoiler texting in case you don't want more hints):
Stay loyal to your teammates and confidants no matter what.

Came across this, but I don't think it fits well.

Soon to be primary school math teacher and I love tackling some of the math problems thrown at us in the courses using my university's free Wolfram Mathematica license. My hope is to teach some kid friendly, block based drag&drop programming language from 3rd grade to be used for solving problems or making simple models some day. Free tablets for every child can't come soon enough in my opinion.

Jesus Christ dude...

Anyway, after more than 5 months and around 120 hours played I am at the final boss' doorstep.
Let's see if I can finally finish this tonight.

Haha. I love the idea that the math teacher is kind of shitty, and your Akira is secretly fuming at her while trying to stay discreet. We've all been there.

Which relationships did everyone have maxed out toward the end? In early October, here's who I've maxed so far:

Yoshida (Negotiations are so much easier now)
Takemi (Little disappointed with the benefits of this one, was expecting some SP items for sale)
Kawakami (Best perk in the game with letting you go out again at night after going to a palace/mementos)
Ryuji
Ann (One away from hers)
Mishima (Didn't even realize that backup members didn't get the same EXP as the rest)

Who else should I focus on? All the gun stuff (gun store and arcade kid) seem kind of worthless.

Uh, Takemi has absolutely the best items in the game for sale once you level her up. SP Adhesive 3
