what version of game are you on? it shows in the main career page but mine says 1.0.0.13 and I have not seen a patch.

game preloaded earlier in week and nothing afaik

i cant get HUD changes to save either ... on xbox

Yea something is up... i have another xbox one and installed there. I had an 11gig update but the first xbox one most certainly had a 43+gig update that I sat through.

Version V1.0.0.13.0842

I wonder if it just downloaded the whole game rather than install off the disc for some reason.

Just been playing in some bad weather. I love the way rain, mist and snow is blown down across the track in gusts. Looks really convincing. Much better than the way rain is portrayed in some of my other favourite games. It's the combination of the wind with the rain that makes it look so good.

Caught up with some old friends last night and we overdid things a tad, so today's mtb trip was cancelled. Managed an hour or so on this game today but hangovers aren't good bedfellows with VR so kept it short, but holy hell I like what I see and feel so far. I like it a lot.

I gotta say I really want to love this game ( alot of me does).
But the handling on X-Box OneS with the controller is just HARD WORK.

I mean,I test Automobilista,Assetto Corsa with the controller on PC and they feel great.
Sutch a shame, because I really want to sink my teeth into it.

First impressions were good, but the more I play it, the more it frustrates me.

The much vaunted pad handling improvements are minimal, there are still huge issues, the menu lag is horrible, the stutters you get online when people join or leave is worse than the first game.

I'm done with it till they patch it, literally no fun with a pad, and this is coming from someone who put 300hrs into pc1 with a pad.

I'm liking it more and more as a get a better feel for the new physics. Controller dampening and steering deadzone adjustments are a must.

I'm playing the GT4 league in career mode with the Cayman. I try to play the full practice and full qualifying and find the results to be greatly improved when I do. The first several laps are a slippery mess, especially on cold tires, but then something clicks. Turns I took in third move on to fourth. Exits I had to drop to second gear to get out of can now be pushed through in third.

I'm enjoying it more and more. I do however still get ghostly oversteer in the formula rookie cars exiting turns.

When I change my setup from loose to the stable one, I'm not sure this is effective, because when I re-enter the tuning setup it again shows "loose".
Is this a bug?
Don't know, (probably)

but saving the set-up again after loading it seem to do the trick

That first formula rookie race at knockhill is brutal. If you don't hit the first corner just right the back end slides out for me every time and there's no correcting it before you spin. I tried it on another car and it was fine, but that's certainly a harsh introduction you get there.

I never got the hang of it and ended up moving onto the GT4 league because the Ginettas were just a little too pedestrian.

How does the game feel with a wheel? I never quite liked how PC1 felt, even after monkeying around with the advanced settings.

It's great. I've not even had to touch the settings and it feels fine. I do notice I have to turn the wheel a lot more than I'm used to (more round the way, not more often). I read in a review that that's done on purpose as it's more realistic.

Glad it's not just me! I was thinking maybe I was just too bad to be playing the game :E Though I have to say I watched a vid on youtube of some guy doing the track in the rookie and it definitely made me feel I was too bad to play the game!

Feels great to me so far, all defaults, Fanatec CSR-E.

Audio sounds excellent (a huge improvement over pCARS 1) but has odd mixing. I need to drop everything to '25' and keep opponents on '100' to be able to meaningfully hear the other cars, and even then they are a bit quiet. I find this critical in VR for helping to tell me where cars are around me. Assetto Corsa does this so much better.

(5.1 surround, cockpit view)

Am not sure how I feel about the game. Sometimes it’s great sometimes not so much, I think I would be much happier without the bugs...

Should I still get this if I'm getting Forza 7 day one? I hear its really good, just don't know if I need to invest in two new racing games at the same time.

Have only been able to get into 1 online session so far today after joining numerous online lobby's and then trying to get on the track on XBOX ONE

Constantly getting disconnected / error "You have been disconnected from the multiplayer session" when loading onto the track after joining

I've been hearing a lot of complaints about the console version and controller implementation. How is this on PC? I will be using my old Fanatec Porche 911 Turbo S wheel.

Xbox version is practically unplayable with G920.
Check this videos:

https://youtu.be/CTivqZblL9w
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-p7g2TXwW52Y3lValNlUEduQWs/view
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yO1hQmzqkKM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MC2dOFq8IXQ

When parked at the boxes, the wheel turns automatically all the way to the left or right and stays there, full FFB power holding it there.

Any car has a jerking left or right on straight, even at low speeds, even setting the FFB to zero.

Not enough Xbox One visuals look like a X360 port, G920 implementation is beyond a disaster. Really bummed, was super excited for this game, now feeling I wasted my $60.

Folks are discussing it on official forums:
http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?51460-FFB-problems-all-over-again!

A moderator said on the forums that "It will be fixed, WMD had no chance to test the game on console" testing on consoles was outsourced to a 3rd party. Apparently the game was not ready to be released on consoles.

I have no words... :(

It's not much better with the Thrustmaster TX.

By the way guys, don't even bother with the karts. They're shit.
Again.

Try these for a good starting point. I noticed an improvement, especially in the brake and throttle responsiveness

Great guide. I used his controller setting but just changed Steering Sensitivity from 45 to 40. That's where I am happiest for now.

Although it must be said his setting are for analogue stick users, not D-Pad dinosaurs like me. It'll be interesting to know how much difference each setting is for digital inputs.

How do you save edits to the HUD? I want to remove the track map and lap breakdown panels, and I select and toggle them off, but hitting save doesn't do anything.

Is this a bug?
You have to be on-track to edit the HUD, at least on PS4 anyway.

You can shoot me down, but I am not convinced the tyre physics are hugely improved over Pc1, they still exhibit some of the issues that the first one had, one of the biggest is how quickly grip returns to the tyre once it's lost, so it still has that nasty snappy feel of the first one.

Playing AC and PC2 back to back really highlights it, it's like night and day, AC is plyable and linear, PC2 is snappy and stiff.
It's easily felt this is just an evolution of Project CARS' physics systems. Generally it feels like before but just a little nuanced, enough to say there is a difference without it feeling alien. It's from the same stock, that's for sure.

First impressions were good, but the more I play it, the more it frustrates me.

I must admit, the recent Assetto Corsa patch has really put the cat amongst the pigeons. I adore the way Assetto Corsa feels now but there's nothing to do there. Project CARS 2 has all the bloody content I'd love Assetto Corsa to have.

If AC and PCars had a baby, it would be the best racing game ever.

Also, getting the damn thing to stop crashing would go some way to alleviate some of the frustration.

Again.

Yeah, and moderators are having a tough time at the official forums.

Wait... what?

yeah... it is 2017. They released a racing simulation game without testing racing wheels properly. It's shitting in the face of their core audience, complete disrespect. The console version of this game should never gone gold. It is fundamentally broken at user interface. Shameful.

yea I'm not seeing the loose and tight set ups so I'd say xbox has not gotten the patch yet.

i think you dl the full game on install.

so my question is where is the xbox d1 patch? everyone else is on 1.0.3

Can I fast forward in Practices and Qualifying? Whenever I skip to end the game tries to punish me by throwing me way down the board.

anybody else have an annoying bug whereby in custom races in pit or paused, the right stick menu scrolls furiously to bottom of page of drivers?

also wish there was a way in custom to just say random and cycle through random preset race settings

the flexibility of this game begs for sets of random settings to try many different scenarios without having to micromanage every detail all the time

xbox needs the patch, this shit is buggy as hell

I have zero issues with my G920
, if they do a update and ruin the way it feels stock (for me anyway) i'm gonna be pissed.

So I took out the Aston Martin db11 and the vantage for a spin in heavy rain. It was close to impossible to drive the cars straight at 60mph. They were all over the place. Is it really supposed to be like that?

Found a useful VR guide on the Simracing thread on Reddit.

Google doc link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/13vH7xrVdCUdYgy4M3uJ0Vx-9TH_JMSeTbsl3_5Ex9OQ/edit#gid=0

This seems to confirm what I thought I felt regarding the mirrored resolution having a noticeable impact on performance. I didn't lower it quite as much as they did but maybe I will try it at1360x768.

I'm really liking the game after putting around 7 hours into it so far. Sure it's maybe not quite on the same level as Assetto Corsa or rFactor 2 in terms of physics but as a whole package.. wow. Really impressive game.

In heavy rain you don't want to use full acceleration. Try to feather the gas pedal (or trigger) and you'll find yourself keeping up with the traffic.

If you're using a controller, you'll want to turn the throttle deadzone down to about 2.

Stuff like this just made me pass. No demo and a wide variety of impressions just turns me off. Maybe I'll jump on a sale later.

Its weird, to be able to keep the car on the track, I am about 20 seconds, yes 20,down on the community event with the GTR on Sugo in the rain.

I only did a few laps but that car, weather, and track combo was not clicking with me at all. I don't know how far back I was from #1 but I do know I was 15+ seconds back from TylerDurden4321, so I'd guess I was more than 20 seconds back of first. This is with a wheel. Lol. In my defense I've never driven on that track before and I didn't put enough laps in to learn it.
That's still not a good excuse for that big of a gap.. shh.

The guys at Team VVV have a discussion video on their youtube channel and they said certain cars are good with a controller and some are kind of bad. You'll probably just have to play around a bit and find the cars that play really well. I know that's not ideal but you should still be able to have fun even if you have to avoid some cars.
