Fire Emblem Warriors DLC packs announced

So what your're saying is the sequel will also have a limited roster focusing on a small number of games instead of the franchise in total? I mean, it's still a meh decision for me.

The sequels story mkde will have a limited roster, but it's free play mode will have a shit load

Well there goes my plan of waiting for an edition that included all the dlc and getting to play with a wider roster from throughout the series. I guess I'll wait for a second game because as much as people bitch online there's enough fans who want this that it should be profitable enough for a sequel.

Disappointing but I can always watch others stream it.

I'm fine with this if it means I get to play as Haar or Jill again in a Fire Emblem game.

Since people seem confused, I feel I should mention they said they want to make a Fire Emblem Warriors 2 that focuses on other games, so I don't think it's that weird that this one keeps going with the same games.

Sounds s little closer to a dq heroes approach

I know these are also chosen because they're the most popular, but could it also be because of wanting to do a sequel if it sells well enough? Maybe in the sequel they'll add more characters from other games...

That's how Musou games typically work.

If that's the case, I'm expecting FEW2 to be focused on FE Switch, PoR/RD and hopefully FE4's cast. Here's hoping...

Kinda sad I'll have to wait 2 years or more for my Black Knight, ahh.
Still undecided if I keep my pre-order, need to know if the EU version will have JP audio.

For me personally it defeats the point of these games.
Especially if we then get a 2nd game with Ike, etc but then Lucina and crew are out.

But thats just how I feel about Warriors personally.(just like I will be disappointed in HW2 if we get BotW characters like Mipha but lose Midna, Ruto, Sheik, etc)

That's a good thing though. Fates and Awakening sucks balls. Tellius FE for life.

I haven't checked the Japanese Switch shop lately, but I heard people say that under supported languages it had English listed with Japanese, so that's probably the case for the EU version. Either way, I'll get my copy on Thursday.

I hope we get Arthur in the Fates pack. His battle banter would be the greatest thing ever.

I would also not be terribly surprised if each pack has a guest character from an older game, like how Lyn and Celica are in the base game. But after seeing the utterly massive amount of content in the Hyrule Warriors DLC, this is one season pass I'm not afraid to buy sight unseen. I don't even expect them to quadruple the game content like last time because that's nuts, but I'm not ruling it out either.

They wouldn't remove past characters. It just means the new ones would receive focus. Although, really, many of their interviews statements have been utterly senseless considering the actual game content.

Awakening: Gaius and Tharja. We don't have a thief yet and these two are the most popular characters not in yet.

Owain is more popular than Gaius. In the Heroes poll he's bellow him just because his votes were split with "Odin".

Nah. These games are not about a character being useful in their respected games. Just picking the popular ones from the fates/SD/Awakening.

Azura is a popular character but I guess they wanted to save her for DLC. Makes sense honestly. Don't know what other Fates character is more popular (not counting children).
Oboro is more popular than Azura in Japan, but not worldwide.

They couldn’t even do other games for DLC? Fuck off Ninendo and IS.

Hell I wouldn’t even expect a change of focus to older titles with the next game. We’ll get a ton of Fire Emblem Switch characters.

Also the Bride Lucina is the most waifu bullshit thing I have ever seen, Jesus.

That's a rubbish mindset. It's bad enough for some fans that characters are being left out. A sequel doing the same but leaving out characters already in doesn't actually solve anything.

The Hyrule Warriors 2 scenario mentioned above is an excellent example of this.

People like you are the reason I'm glad Ike isn't in this game.

But it's a moot point as I see no reason for them not to carry over the current roster. Isn't that what the Dynasty Warriors games do?

Owain is more popular than Gaius. In the Heroes poll he's bellow him just because his votes were split with "Odin".

I was mainly thinking of the Awakening popularity poll. Especially since they said they didn't want the child characters(bar Lucina). I don't see them breaking that rule for the DLC but who knows.

Well at least Koei are announcing in advance that game won't have anything interesting with or without DLC. An easy skip, hope they move on from that game quickly and make a proper Fire Emblem Warriors.

Tharja, Gaius, Owain, Donnel, Inigo, Severa, Felicia, Jakob, Oboro, Niles, and some others.
Though, given the state of the game, they'll put in less popular female characters over more popular male ones.

Yes, she's advertised as just a costume. It's not a different character, so no new moveset for her.

As silly as it sounds... That's somewhat disappointing. Not because I particularly care for Lucina, but because the Bride class is supposed to use lances/bows/staves, not swords.

Koei Tecmo really is clueless. So much for Ike being DLC.
I went from buying day one to almost hoping it bombs so they can learn.

Add Azura and I'm happy. I'm surprised they didn't add her to the base game. But admittedly I'm one of the newer fans of the series who started with Awakening. I can see how those who started the series earlier would be disappointed with the roster and game selection. I hope the game sells well enough that they do a sequel adding in characters from games left out this time around but also keep in the characters from this game. Removing them wouldn't make much sense.

Lucina here does use bows by default as special attacks. Apparently no lances though.

Bride Lucina looks dumb.

It's the actual DLC Bride class dress from Awakening, not just a generic Bride costume. Although they removed the transparencies...

It is still dumb. The game already have tons of characters from Awakening and Fates and FE have several games, they can still add character from other games while saving some for sequel that we don't even know that will happen.

"Clearly fire emblem isn't a franchise worthy of having musou titles" is the only lesson they'll learn

I am not talking about Musou, I am talking about IS and Nintendo only focusing the same 3 titles every time.

Yeah I'm not surprised. I'm too much of a sucker to not get the DLC, though I'll wait until they announce the Awakening characters.

So even the DLC is focused on those three games. I guess I can safely skip it then. Hopefully if there's a FE:W2 they will focus on more diverse games.

They could maybe sneak away with this in localisation by referring to it as "Queen Lucina", and although it's still silly to imagine a queen fighting in her royal garbs, it's still less so than a wedding dress.

But that never happened with IS itself? Heroes had ample FE6 and 7 representation from the start. We just got Echoes, a remake of the least popular game in the series. Even before that Fates got Radiant Dawn and Gaiden DLC maps too.

Concerts also play themes from throughout the series. It's only the collaborations with other companies (#TMS and now FE Warriors) that focus mostly on the recent games and Shadow Dragon.

The name of the Bride class was unchanged in Awakening.

You are right IS are doing really well with heroes, there are plenty of character from games I didn't pay that I love now like reindhardt. It is just that when IS aren't doing the game things go south. Smash is the only exception but even then 2 awakening character was too much.

The Bride class is a thing in Awakening.

A thing that was officially localized and released.

And it showed up again in Heroes.

Why would they need to sneak anything?

I am not talking about Musou, I am talking about IS and Nintendo only focusing the same 3 titles every time.

A crossover game focusing on the most popular entries? Why I never. Seriously you guys are probably getting more attention then certain other franchises in crossovers.

Imagine how Persona 2 fans feel. Heh.

You know just when I start to sympathize with pre 3DS fans. Someone posts something like this and I'm suddenly glad your being ignored. Look I get your upset but stop insulting people because we like characters you don't. Wether you like it or not these games are popular.

Except Blazing Blade is more popular than Shadow Dragon. And even if the tellius game aren't popular, Ike is more popular than any Fates character, the same goes for Roy.
