I also love all the other smaller sounds that add to the immersion like the loud one when you land a jump, the gravel that you still hear coming out of the car for a while after being back on the track, the one when you pass under an helicopter hovering on the track, etc...
The silent marketing campaign is even more baffling now that I have the game. I dont get why they didnt release small clips of cockpit cam footage of the crazy sounding cars for example...

Played for about 90 minutes and I love it.
-In the first race in Dubai, the Porsche behaves completely differently to the demo. Maybe the demo race was bugged.
-There's no restart during the match?!
-The menus are a bit laggy and there's some loading going on when you browse through cars. That wasn't there in FM5 and 6. Maybe the engine is pushing the original XO I have to its limit. We'll see how the X behaves in a month and a half.
-The single player definitely looks beefed up and super interesting.
-I really like the new implementation of mods. Really adds an extra layer of interest to the races.
-Handling with the Elite pad is sublime.
-Graphics are improved, but there's still work to be done.
-My vintage Honda F1 car didn't have gear change animation. I thought they had fixed these issues two games back.
-With all the authentic cars and tracks, it really annoys me that the helmets and overalls aren't licensed as well. I would love to have authentic Bell or Arai helmets (like in Gran Tourismo).
Anyway, can't wait to come back from work tomorrow to dig deeper. There seem to be tons of things to explore.

So Deluxe mostly just gets you an extra car pack or two and the VIP membership, which is for bonus XP/prize money in events and some unique gear/liveries/etc. I generally don't bother with it.
The Ultimate Edition gets you all the Season 1 car expansion stuff, but the base game has 700 cars and the 32 (+?) tracks, so I think you're safe just going Standard. Unless you're a little neurotic about having a complete [whatever], because as the DLC season moves on, you'll see those DLC cars in the store with a little "DLC" icon. It's never felt disruptive in the past, and they've generally given select free DLC cars anyway to standard players.
I just went Standard, personally. There's a lot of game here.

No, it behaves a lot better because the have in the first races as a default all the assists on.
It's the same as it has been with FM3/4/5/6. By now you should know what you are getting. On the other hand, if you're new to the series, better start with the regular edition. It definitely has a ton of content for any newcomer.
I didn't jump in with all assists. I went to the main menu first, changed stuff the way I did in the demo and then went to the race. There's definitely a problem with the Porsche in the demo.
Yeah this sounds bad if I want to take it seriously and not use rewinds...
Theres a huge running thread about it on the Fm.net forums. Seems like there's a few bugs that need to be fixed with wheels.

Just finished purchasing the ultimate edition. My 1080ti and 4K Screen is ready.
You can race any car in free-play (by renting a car) and it comes auto homologated.
But yes cars are now locked behind tiers in Career. Though I'm already at Tier Level 3 so it's not too difficult get to your Tiers up.

The game is not unlocking here. Already past the time that the store said it would unlock but nothing happened, still can't get in.

It's very good with a Thrustmaster TX, I don't know about other wheels but in the demo the TX was well supported too.

Man, I really want to pick this up. The damn demo turned me off because the FFB was so bad, there was zero road feel for me. Maybe its fixed in the full game? PCars 2 FFB is super good.

Extra long it is then! Best thing about Forza 6 were endurance races, now I can endurance the whole career lol

Eh, I might settle for Long actually (except the achievement for Super Long Spa Showcase). I think 50 Laps on Maple is too much.
Plus I have a job and dont want a second job of Forza for a year lol.

I grabbed PCars2 last night and will agree the FFB is great. I also am getting Forza 7 and fear that if it is turns out to be good then PCars2 was a wasted purchase.

That's what I did man. I bought PC2 and I'll be playing Forza 7 in a 3 hours, GTS on pre-order and I'll be getting WRC 7 very soon. It seems like PC2 will get the least of my time if any if they don't fix it. I should have waited with my purchase but was confident PC2 will be much better and will have less bugs than PC1 but that's not the case.

Aye. The out of the box FFB, quality of live improvements, and graphics bump were nice but was really disappointed at the lack of certain cars (GT350...) and pretty much the same tracks from the first game. Plus, with Forza if I don't want to use the wheel I know the controller support will be outstanding.
yep same boat on pcars, I like it, it's just ugly and buggy. will see how it is when x comes out but this is looking real good so grabbed it

It sure is nice playing a proper Motorsport again, last one I owned was forza 4, skipped this console generation. The short two hours before I had to force myself to stop and go to bed was glorious.
Was surprised to see 7 running pretty beautifully on my setup. Horizon 3, like for pretty much everyone, stuttered like crazy if I unlocked the frame rate. Not to mention the input lag... It has improved but no where near as smooth as 7, maxed out and running at 4k. The menus can be damn frustrating because the interaction and responsiveness is so damn bad at it's current state. I almost wish they went with a simple 2D UI similar to Forza 4 (minus the blinding white if I remember correctly, might have been 3 actually).
My rig for anyone who are wondering if they will run into problems:
Dual Xeon 2680 V1 (16c/32t)
Titan X Maxwell (Primary)
Gtx 1070 (Secondary)
64gb DDR3 Ram
Installed on a 7200rpm drive
Don't really mind that the game just runs on a single core, better than not running at all on Xeons! (Dirt rally and dirt 4 cough cough)
Can't wait to put some more hours in over the weekend
