CFB 2017 Week 5 |OT| Searching for evidence that Kentucky has ever beaten Florida

Fromm was trying so hard to give the ball away in the first half and Tennessee just wouldn't let him.

People are quick to say he's the better option for UGA, but I'm still firmly on the fence about that. No doubt that every week Eason has to sit, he gives Fromm more of a chance to take the bull
dog
by the horns, though.

Andy, where are you at with that?

I feel dumb being a 10 year long gaf member and not knowing this, but how do you see the posters in a thread and their post count in that thread? Trying to see if any of my fellow Louisville brethren made it this way, and their input about this last week's events. I'd bore y'all with the current state political things influencing decisions at our school for the last 2 years now reaching a boiling point with the actual board of trustees and boosters, let's just say there is a huge support for keeping Tom Jurich as Athletic Director both from senior board members and the boosters. As many as 7 head coaches could leave if Tom goes without direct shown cause, including Petrino.

Before anyone says lawl motorcycle nobody wants him, apparently a certain garbage can toting team is very interested already, and Petrino has a Jurich clause that reduces his buyout in half if Jurich is no longer there. I won't claim to be some secret insider, but this is from the same kinds of folks who were telling me Strong was our next coach before we ever fired that other guy, and that Bobby was primary target to replace Strong within hours of that departure so to say I consider reliable is an understatement.

All these days eaten up with going to the actual football games, rather than sitting at home with a tablet. Really has sapped my CFB-GAF post count. I used to win more weeks with the volume of posts, and now I'm maybe in the top 20.

I mean, I'm barely in front of jjasper, who largely gave up this place once his brother graduated from LSU ;P

I think with each win it's harder to take it from Fromm. But, as you're aware because Saban would say the same thing, no announcement on starting QB for Saturday. Whoever outperforms the other in practice is going to get the job. Honestly at this point I'm at a weird place where things are going well enough that I trust the coaches to put the right player in.

If Eason doesn't win the job, I think he transfers at the end of the season.

We are far from the Richt days of starting Faton Bauta for the Florida game when he didn't have 1st string snaps all year.

I never thought I would ever see this sentence...
I didn't think I'd be typing it either. ;P

Justin Fields is probably coming to UGA at this point and if Fromm takes over the job for this season, I think Eason transfers where he could probably play at most other programs day one. Wouldn't blame him.

LSU recruit ranks

2014 - 2
2015 - 5
2016 - 2
2017 - 7

Georgia recruit ranks

2014 - 8
2015 - 6
2016 - 6
2017 - 3

So how do we explain these two teams? Is it ALL coaching? Overrated recruits for one school vs. the other? A mixture of both?

It's both.

Also if you don't have a difference maker at QB you're SOL even if you recruit well elsewhere.

It was always a possibility. Fromm was a pretty damn big recruit.

I still won't even pencil Fields in for UGA yet though. Outside of their records, FSU's in similar water as far as the QB room goes.
Recruiting sites seem to think FSU is way back at this time. He's been at UGA like 3 weeks this season and once more just before season as soon as the dead period ended.

Lyle "Butch" Jones is still employed as of today.

I'd go for Gary Patterson personally. UTK will go to the bargain bin like they always do. "Who?" on announcement day is a Tennessee tradition. I'll always remember the day Dooley was announced. Actually took a while for people to fall in line for that hire.

In b4 Buddy Stephens is the head coach at Tennessee.

It's all coaching. LSU is ridiculously talented. They still put more players in the league than anyone not named Alabama and Ohio State.

That, and, they haven't recruited worth a shit at the most important position on the field. With a QB in 2015, LSU might make the playoffs.

And there's something to be said for Alabama sucking all of the air out of the room in the conference.

I really don't see him leaving TCU anytime soon.

For UGA it was coaching combined with lack of good recruiting at certain key positions like OL. Richt was great at recruiting skill position players. There's also a difference between around 10 where he averaged vs top 2-3 year over year. A huge difference.

2013 class of would be seniors this year is a smoking crater. Barely any of them are left on the team. Our great QB recruit, Brice Ramsey, was a huge miss.

Now that I think about it Alabama really hasn't played anyone other than a battered FSU in week 1.

So while they are really good, I just don't think they've been tested at all.

It's taken me this long to want to admit college football is a thing that is still happening after that Troy game. Fuck.
Remember when we said that this was a mistake on y'alls part to fire Les? Remember when we said you all would fuck everything up?

We did warn you friend. I'm sorry..

Now be honest now..

Remember when LSU was going to win the SEC West this year and beat Bama?

haha good times
I feel like I had a healthy dose of skepticism about that in the preseason. I know I was really skeptical of Stidham and Auburn. Time will tell on that when they have to play Bama and UGA.

I feel like no one was seriously saying LSU was gonna win the West, were they? Never expected Canada to be able to stop Etling from being Etling.

Coming into the season, Auburn was the one possible threat to us in the division. And while I called UGA being the champ out East (and they're on track to be just that), I never imagined they'd look this good.

I mean, FSU wasn't battered in week 1. But yeah, that win doesn't hold up much anymore barring a miraculous turnaround over there.

Not that I mind much. Let someone else hold the #1 ranking for awhile. And it's not like we're letting teams hang around anyways. We're dominating and taking out our starters with like 12 minutes left in the third quarter.

Which is why Saban has gotten even saltier as the season's gone on; he's trying to keep them from getting complacent. UGA will likely be our second test of the season in Atlanta. That's a long ways off.

What happened in a football game last year doesn't have any bearing on what will happen in one this year. Teams improve. Teams get worse. Balls bounce differently. Injuries happen. Sometimes those injuries make you worse (Florida), and sometimes they arguably make you better (Georgia with Fromm at starting QB). Suspensions happen. 5*'s don't work out. Coaches adapt. Players play above or below themselves because *who knows how, it just happens*.

Looking at the football that is being played this year and completely disregarding it in favor of "BUT LAST YEAR(S)" is stupid. But it is an opinion, and yes, you are entitled to it.

Man you went from last year means nothing to somehow saying I implied that you should disregard all this year stats for last year’s. Solid fall back man.

Lol you know you said the same thing last year. Past, Present, and Future the Gators shit on Georgia. Georgia still clings to wins before UF was even a school. Wait do you really not get the concept of talking about previous year results, did you see the Kentucky game?

Mhmm.

Firing Les may not have been the mistake but giving Ogre the HC job definitely fucking was. Everyone saw that a mile away.
