It’s crazy how optimized this engine is. 1440p and 100+ FPS all maxed out. Will have to check tonight for actual stats but I’m pretty sure I’m getting around 120 or so on avg (1080, i5-4690k)

Xbox beta codes still not working.

I hope this has X support day one, bummed to hear about the fps/visual issues. It's one of my most anticipated X games.

Heads up for PS4 people wanting to join in as well without pre-ordering- I used that EA Help method posted on the previous page and got a Beta Code sent to me.

to any digital purchasers on any platform that is having issues with no key or pc users not having beta show up in origin library automatically:

Follow these steps:

Go to EA Help (help.ea.com).
Select Help with a Game.
Select SWBFII.
Scroll down and select Contact Us.
Choose your platform.
Select Codes and promotions.
Select Invalid code or Lost code.
It may ask for an error code - put none
Put in an email with details of what happened.
Literally if you are indeed eligible for a code the automated system will email you within seconds with an acutal beat key to redeem on origin/ps/xbox store.

All credit to Octosphere on reddit! https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsBa..._for_people_on_origin_or_consoles_not_seeing/

Can confirm this works even if you don't have it pre-ordered

I went to bed super early last night and set an alarm to wake up at 4AM and start the download since there was no pre-load. I had another alarm set to 5AM, so I got up, clicked "Download" and slept for another hour even though the download said it would be done in ~12 minutes (it was very tempting to just wait it out and play even more). I got to play for 2 hours before I had to stop and get ready for work and it was such a blast. Starfighter Assault is SO much better than Fighter Squadron (my most played mode) and the new controls feel better than the Alpha, it felt like it was harder to hit the enemy ships back then. I thought it might have to do with having a smaller play space on Naboo but the match I played on Theed this morning also felt better for the starfighters.

Being able to roll any which way I want makes it so much easier to throw off enemy pursuers and get the drop on them, I had so many great dogfights this morning and I feel like the ship balance is pretty decent. The TIE Interceptor needs to be looked at though, it overheats way too quickly (although its damage makes up for it), I'd prefer if they reduced its damage a bit and let you fire longer (the A-Wing for instance, feels perfect in this regard). The TIE Bomber is surprisingly fun and that missile barrage is immensely satisfying to unload on players that don't seem to pay attention. The missiles it fires seem easy enough to avoid though so when you come across a player that's actually aware it doesn't feel overpowered. The objectives are fun and seem well balanced, I played several games and only one of them was an outright slaughter, my team (Imps) completely decimated the Rebel team during the attack on the generators. During this match I pretty much just guarded the entrances to that corridor and prioritized Y-Wings.

Only played one full match on Theed. I joined near the end on the CIS team and then played a full game as the Republic. I was having a good time flanking enemy squads and just doing well overall, saved up my points and got Rey right when the map shifted to the Palace and I ran into a group of droids. I had a decent number of players behind me and figured we'd rush them and clean house. Then Maul showed up and all the clones ditched me. I got DECIMATED. They then captured that room and moved on to the next one, I was pretty salty at my team. We held the Throne Room right until the end and then the droids came in and held the longest overtime I have ever experienced in a game, I haven't even had an overtime fight that intense in all my hours of Overwatch. They really need to re-balance it so that if you clear the objective of enemies the overtime meter drains faster and faster as time passes. Maybe it already works this way, but it needs improvement. It was far too easy for them to extend the game for an absurd amount of time.

Playing on PC, nice looking game (playing on the "High" default graphics ) but is it my eyes or does there seem to be a lot of chromatic aberration going on?

This makes me happy.

I tested out the Battlefield 1 demo on my pc last weekend to see what I could expect. Was maxing out my 144 refresh rate at 1440p, then realized the game defaulted to medium. Figured I’d take a bigger hit when bumping it up to ultra. NOPE. That engine sure is great.

Game looks good but somehow I feel like I've been spoiled by Battlefield 1 and to be perfectly honest, the first Battlefront (DICE). One thing I've noticed is the tech on leaves blowing around, never seen anything quite like it.

Space battles are absolutely gorgeous.

Enjoyed what I played but I'm really not sure this is something I HAVE to play when it comes out. Just like with the first one I played the beta and was like "yep that'll do me". The SP campaign has been kept under wraps so much that it's not really a draw for me either.

Yeah. Played some this morning and it does not look good.

Which is rather odd. It looks soft and blurry on Xbox because of the resolution which is undoubtedly 720p but there should be no reason for that on Pro. Some parts of that Naboo map don't even look that blurry here, like inside that building.

Oh man that title is great. Lol.
I won't be getting home until rather late today but I'll be playing tonight for sure. Can't wait.

Yep, I can confirm this worked for me on PS4 too.

Question: Has shooting been changed from previous Battlefront?
Around E3, there were reports movement and/or zooming affected accuracy, unlike in BF.

I like the inclusion of the Arcade single player mode, and the split screen 2p is an awesome bonus.

Does anyone know if there will be any starfighter arcade options, or are they all ground gameplay?

Assault has a decent amount of spread and recoil, heavies are brainless.

I find it way more difficult to take on multiple people

Just played one round and I'm not feeling it so far. I had high hopes but I the infantry stuff feels very weightless. I guess the original was like that too but having a map that pits enemies across giant open spaces leaves a lot of fighting tiny far away dots.

Will put more time into it and hopefully the space combat / vehicles are fun.

Wait, is accuracy class-dependent now or...?

I ask because one thing i really loved about BF was that it didn't have accuracy modifier. Very arena-shooterish in a sense. If that has changed, i don't think i'll bother with BFII.

Can’t say I’m enjoying Strike on Takodona. I don’t know if it’s the map or the way the mode is handled for said map but it’s just not fun

I think people just dont know how to play anything yet. So that factors into the games too. I liked it, but i noticed that most of the game i wasnt even playing the objective.

Well the current xbox really doesnt hold a candle to the X in terms of power, so visual disappointments were to be expected.

Here's how you get Beta key via EA Help.

1. Click here: https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/?...egory=codes-and-promotions&issue=invalid-code

It should select Battlefront II for PS4 with "Invalid code" issue. Change platform to PC or XB1 if that's what you desire.

MAKE SURE IT SAYS "INVALID CODE". That's the only way they'll give you instant code. Make sure you also pick the right region i.e. North America, Europe, etc.

2. Login with PSN/XBL/Origin

3. Whatever email address you see is the one it'll send the email to. Doesn't matter if you change it. Check your EA account email, first and foremost.

4. Send a generic email about beta key. Here's mine:

Subject: Star Wars Battlefront II early access key

Hi there,

I pre-ordered Star Wars Battlefront II, may I be granted the beta key? Thanks!

5. Send.

6. Check email for instant code.

7. Didn't receive a code in 5 minutes? Send another ticket. Repeat until you get it.

Tried using the workaround mentioned on the support page but my Xbox codes still won't redeem. So frustrating.

I've even filled out the form asking for another, and they send me an automated response with the new code which ALSO doesn't work haha.

Are you picking the right region? Pick the right region i.e. North America, Europe, etc when it asks you to in the support page.

I only played one round, but it seems like they've added some recoil and spread, but it is still very viable to hipfire and shoot while moving. It doesn't appear like ADS has any accuracy bonus.

Started downloading the beta on Xbox, looking forward to putting some time into the game. Battlefront was probably my most played multiplayer game this year. I picked it up late last year with all the DLC and had a really great time. It wasn't perfect but I always managed to have fun and never take it seriously.

Pré alpha was 1080p even on pro

I guess the game on ps4 will be again 900p like the first (720p on one ?)

Disappointing

They don't share weapons, but hitting stuff at range is hard as assault. Heavy is just brainless due to a shitload of health, the dumb shield and a point blank impact grenade if all else fails.

Having to hit someone multiple times in the head with a sniper gets a chuckle from me..

This has some fantastic game feel.

But ťhe beta makes it obvious that in return for free maps they're adding pay-to-win elements, so I think I'm out.

Again, it's no more pay to win than the shortcut kits for Battlefield. Everything can be earned through normal gameplay.

Yeah it's quite excessive. I turned of motion blur and TAA, but the game still looks... off. Can't really enjoy it this way, game makes me feel weird.

Edit: Also Dyanmic Resolution can't be turned off and FOV is locked?
