Gran Turismo Sport Previews

Just photoshop CS6 atm. I've used imageready when it was CS2 and also premiere/after effects in the past, but CS6 photoshop is the most straightforward. Just open the video file as a timeline rather than layers. I can cut and edit around then. But, as I said previously, I haven't shown any Gif's yet where I do any fancy edits like colour/exposure balancing/framerate correction or slowdowns. Photoshop I can do that of course using transform tool if I wish. I'm just showing stuff as is right now, minus what a GIF does to IQ on resize, can't avoid that unless i work in premiere and export some vids. Photography and art is a hobby really, my main work is in sound engineering.

I've done most of my gifs in Photoshop aswell, but to me changing over to After Effects made things so much smoother. It's annoying at first because you know where all your shit is in Photoshop, but it's very obvious once you use it a lot that it's made for moving pictures and Photoshop - while trying - has some very obvious limits to this.

I still need someone to explain to me how Scapes work. I have a small idea but the fact the cars move in the real environments is beyond my comprehension.

My best guess would be something of a camera match with a fake ground plane that they can cast the cars shadow/light from along with the HDRi map and some type of light probe system in 3D space that helps sell the 3Dness of the environment.

Huhh, that's very interesting. But how would they do that when the camera is rotating and moving with the backgroud? multiple images?

Hmmm forgot about that, looking back at the trailer I think they must have modeled in a lot more in 3D.

The curb on the bottom left looks like 3D geo the way it moves in the trailer, along with the center block in the 2nd picture

Not sure how they are doing it but its pretty cool. Cant wait to play with it in the demo.

I doubt it.. but GT6 had a nice new texture on one of the Course Maker scenarios.

I wouldnt mind if not rain just a wet track a la GT4 to slide around in

There is some good footage of this here, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWff1mTo0Wk is used as the sexiest colour select screen ever!

There is something wrong with that gif. The front wheels are looking forward but the car behaves like if some brief countersteering had been applied right past the apex of the corner.
The physics look correct. As the car slides, speed and momentum are being scrubbed. So when it slows enough, in that instant the tires are no longer overwhelmed, regaining their grip on the road and continuing in a new direction: The direction in which the tires have been pointing.

I remember a clip where a big rectangle of scenery glitched out and went the wrong colour for a frame, but I probably won't be able to find it.
