Destiny 2 |OT3| The Token King

I've got a 290+ titan and Hunter now, but Warlock is still in the story mode.

I just, I dunno, hate that dang jump of theirs.

Really wish you could skip the story on other characters, and get right to the action though. Even if that meant 20 levels of grind.

What do you mean you can't concentrate when I'm shouting? RELAX!!

For the new thread, Zavala dropping 300 PL engrams so if you need infusion fodder or are still missing some of those Vanguard weapons and are already 305 PL then hurry to the Tower. 5 minutes left.

I have zero vanguard tokens because I don't run strikes.

Is there a decent way to earn >265 items without doing the raids? I'm old and my friends work too much.

Weekly milestones, farming public events with a fireteam medallion seems to get me an exotic an hour or so.

For the record, I actually like Tokens. Very clear easy to predict progression & rewards via them.

If I have a gripe, it’s only that the raid is so dependent on them. Otherwise, thumbs up from me.

FYI, I'll move this thread to community over the weekend, as we're a month out from launch. Leaving here for now so folks can see the new thread and update subscriptions accordingly ahead of the move.

I like them, I just wish everything wasn't distilled into rep. I miss having more items that had a purpose (planetary mats being in the game but providing just a tiny sliver of rep feels like a late change).

By the way, the 'List of Public Event Heroic Triggers' is incomplete

missing Injection Rig, unless Im just not seeing it

New OT. Nice title.

Just a heads up. I was playing yesterday on my kids sub account, and decided to do all the adventures in IO. One if them gave a green weapon as a reward. It actually came as the light level of the character 250 pl at the time). I did not know greens would go that high. Also got 2 ability points out of them. I really should try doing all adventures on my main account

Got a green awhile back at 295+ PL. I believe it was also from an Adventure reward which probably was expected to be completed way early on in the character progression.

Yeah. I was quite surprised when it dropped like that. I will do the adventures on my main account as all my chars are 301 now. The ones in IO are quite nice to do, and give quite a nice bit of lore when doing them.
If you complete the adventures and then choose to do them again from the planetary vendor, he gives you different rewards (blue engrams in IO.) I wonder if those will come at your PL also? If so, he coulb be some nice infusion material

Is the game worth it for the single player, and just playing the online portion casually? I keep going back and forth on buying it for PC, and I didn't play the first game. I'm happy with the grind but stuff like the raids seems a bit beyond my skill level, and most of my friends don't play games so I can't organise a team to play that stuff.

Yep absolutely imo. I have about 80ish hours in D2 and I have no desire to do the raid. One caveat imo is that the game is not worth buying strictly to play through the campaign. It's the grind during and afterwards for the loot and such that's most fun for me. In D2 it's not really much of a grind so playing casually is fine.

Games usually have a PC performance thread. But I never see separate PC OT for a specific game. They don’t like to split the community like that around here.

So, Destiny 2 tracker says that yesterday, there were 2.8 million crucible players and 2.7 million PvE players tracked.

Is that a good or bad thing? I dont follow any stats site, so just wondering what the consensus is.

It happens on occasion. Most commonly it happens when there are much larger release date gaps between console and PC (PC games getting ported to console in most cases). Think things like Marvel Heroes, Pillars of Eternity, etc...

Yep, good catch.

INJECTION RIG

What OT was D1 on after a month for comparative reasons?

Overall, I like D2. Here's a list of thoughts and Qs after 30 days of play.
- So glad that the map shows upcoming public events.
- RIP my grimoire score
- No flawless raider trophy this time?
- Vault needs filtering options
- As a low key #Dresstiny fan, we need a better interface to preview and apply shaders
- Pvp playlists are sorely missed. Bring back rumble, too.
- I kind of miss 6v6 pvp. 6 stacks in D1 was time well spent with friends/clan mates. Can IB implement it please?
- Speaking of which, it'd be great to do patrols, missions or strikes in fireteams larger than 3.
- 'Wish we could choose specific strikes to play from the director.
- Why can't we replay story Missions aside from the limited ones offered by Ikora?
- Destiny companion app is kind of garbage. Where're all the stats on pvp and pve sessions?

TWAB is up.

Iron Banner is coming!

Prestige raid too!

We do not expect everyone to be successful in completing this activity. Mechanical changes to the encounters are minimal, but they are there. The Prestige Raid is about mastering a more punishing sandbox. Our goal is not to provide a boon to your character progression, but there are unique rewards to help you shine. Consider this your invitation to prove to the world that you are among the very best of the Raiders who overlook the City.

Are we back to raid designs that are just "make every enemy a yellow bar"?

Irrelevant, both will give out tokens and reskins.

Did Factions give out Unique armor in Destiny 1? I assumed the armor just having unique textures was par for the course. I know Iron Banner had unique armor in Destiny I was hopping it would be the same in Destiny 2.

Edit: Lol posted right after that gif.

A PC OT will likely be necessary especially for new players to the game concerning spoilers and all other introductory type discussion to the game. I mean there are bound to be tons of questions and rehashed discussion that would probably be served best in it's own dedicated PC thread and then those players can just move naturally over to the community thread when ready (no longer concerned about spoilers, etc).
